Keep on swimming, keep on swimming

[What an interesting little animal.] Drak's said with curiosity. A tinge of mockery and disdain came from his tone.

'What's so interesting about them? They just seem like two-faced hungry little wolves to me.' I thought.

[That's because you have no appreciation for the good stuff Tom. Oh, and to correct your previous conjecture, the appearance you are seeing is her real look. Not an illusion. Since you are able to create illusions, you are naturally impervious to them. Meaning, that you cannot be charmed. Only someone with immense power like the mermaid queen could penetrate your defences. But by the time you get to meet such a powerful creature, you would have grown to even greater heights.]

I was surprised to hear that I was actually impervious to her charm.

'Wait, but then why did I feel like I was actually about to fall for it?'

[Tch, just because you can't be tricked by a physical illusion doesn't mean that the sound waves coming from her voice would have no effect on you. It is still a sort of legilimency after all. so naturally, you are susceptible. Like she announced, occlumency is one of the very few ways of resisting their charm abilities.] Drak said.

'Ohhh, that makes sense I guess.'

As we talked, the teacher introduced herself.

"My name is Professor Marella Atlanta, I come from the Atlantean people located in the Mediterranean. But you can call me Professor Atlanta. I will be teaching you how to swim, basic ocean survival and a bit about the creatures that dwell in the vast ocean. Even to this current day, there are hundreds of thousands of magical species that are still undiscovered. The sea is simply too vast to cover, even with magic.

And even for the ones that we are aware of, there are millions of species both magical and not that can pose a threat to you wizards and witches. you people would all die of old age before we even covered half the animals. What we will be going over is the most abundant and the ones that are most likely to be encountered by you if you ever find yourself stranded in the ocean.

But first, we will be learning how to swim. Please raise your hand if you already know how to do so." She spoke loudly while raising her own hand.

To my surprise, some people actually did know how to swim. Those included Percival, Fred and Jenna. There were naturally a couple of other kids I didn't know the names of, but there weren't that many overall. obviously, I raised my hand as well since I knew how to do so.

The professor nodded in contentment as she scanned over the people who did know how to. She naturally landed on me again and smiled slightly before focusing back on the broader class.

"Ok, that should be enough. Those who know how to swim will be the teachers for a small group of students who don't know how to. This will not only develop your communication skills, but it will build leadership skills and for those teaching specifically, it will highlight what you know well and what you only have some knowledge of. Does anyone have any questions?" she asked.

Nobody raised their hand and after several seconds of the same, the teacher nodded again before snapping her fingers. The door to her left opened up and a passageway could be seen that split off into two different corridors. Both of which had signs. 'Boys' and 'girls' respectively.

"The changerooms. Get dressed into your swimsuits before making your way through the door on the opposite side of the change rooms. You have ten minutes. Do not dally because I will not only not wait for you, those who are late will not be able to attend, and you'll have points subtracted depending on how much over the limit you go. You have been warned. Get to it!" she snapped at the end before disaparating from the tank.

The class didn't become noisy in her absence which surprised me. But Percival told me that everyone had gotten used to being caught the moment they made a ruckus. This implied that even though we couldn't see the teacher, she could see us. In essence, we were stilled monitored. Naturally, that wouldn't happen in the changerooms for obvious reasons.

As we split off into two groups based on gender, we made our way through the designated corridor before coming upon a massive room with brightly lit rooms. There was a general changeroom with wooden benches, lockers and towel racks. To the side, a massive row of showers and on the other side, toilets and stalls. It was incredibly neat, dry and very clean.

We all picked a locker before opening it to find a set of shorts meant for swimming. They were just like the normal uniforms; they could change shape based on the person's size.

Getting undressed and putting on the shorts I walked over to the mirror to see a muscular boy that looked to be around the age of 16 staring back at me. My tattoos were still there, swimming around on my skin. Percival, Fred, Robert and John walked over soon after but froze upon gazing at my body.

Percival began to frown which got progressively more pronounced the more he stared.

"This is not fair. How is that fair! You can't be 12! Look at you! You muscle head." Percival screamed indignantly. I couldn't help but chuckle before nodding as I looked at my body before tensing slightly. Instantly, my muscles bulged as veins came alive and began to squirm around my forearms.

I noticed Fred looked at my body in a trance which was quite uncomfortable. But I soon understood, everyone else was the same when I scanned across their faces. This was an effect that Drak had told me about. When someone looked at my tattoos when they aren't obstructed by clothing, they have a sort of illusion effect. This only worked on wizards since I had muggle repellent on to stop that from happening when walking around on the streets.
