Hidden Fantasy-A Werewolf's Obsession

Chapter 3-Alessia

I thought to myself, 'Oh gosh.' Every single individual was staring at me. I asked the driver to leave, which put me in an unpleasant situation, but thankfully the bell rang, and all of the students began to walk towards their classes. Then I started heading towards the entrance building with my backpack on my shoulders, trying to figure out which classrooms I would be in. I got a better view of the building as I walked there. It was a massive structure with beautiful stained glass windows and a two-door glass entrance, almost like a cathedral. Except for the one on the far right, which appeared to be a cafeteria, each one of the buildings surrounding the front one looked remarkably identical. It was made up of three layers, each with see-through windows. The bottom layer had a gentle ambience thanks to the circular cream lights that hung from the ceiling. A large bar counter surrounded by oak chairs and tables, apparently selling drinks. The academy had a lot of coffee shops on the second floor which was a massive bonus. Each floor of the cafeteria was packed with students carrying beverages and snacks. I was ready to get a drink when I realised I had arrived at the front desk. My palms were sweaty from anxiousness as I walked through the front door. I was so terrified that I collided with the person in front of me.

"I'm sorry," I stammered, my face contorted with regret. When the person turned around, he smiled at me. With caramel wavy hair and a lovely tan, he had light brown eyes and a soft tan.

He answered, "It's fine."

Immediately, a woman with a harsh, severe voice spoke into a microphone.

"ALL FIRST SECTION STUDENTS, PLEASE BRING YOUR ID AND FORMS TO THE FRONT DESK WHEN YOU GET THERE," the woman requested.

I hurriedly checked my backpack to see if the paperwork Dad had signed was still there, which they were. Then I immediately removed my identification and attached it to a badge that I wore around my neck. Suddenly, the boy in front of me began laughing, which surprised me.

"Can you tell me what's hilarious?" I inquired.

"Your hair is all over the place," he said, a smirk on his face.

I immediately began to tighten my dark brown hair in a tight bun, allowing some grey ombre hair to escape onto my face.

"Is that better?" I asked the boy.

He responded, "Much better." I offered him a friendly smile, and afterwards, we began communicating.

"My name is Noah Hiroto," he introduced himself.

"Umm…My name is Alessia Aldine," I said carefully, hoping he didn't recognise me.

Noah said, "Nice to meet you, Alessia."

"You, too, Noah," I said, smiling.

"So, where do you come from?" I inquired. Noah paused for a few moments before responding to the question. He appeared to be in a depressed state.

"You don't have to answer it, you know?" I said.

"No, it's all right. I'm from Hokkaido, Japan. My family are well-known hunters in the area, so when they found out I was a hunter, they naturally brought me to Hunters Academy," Noah recounted. When I learned that Noah and his family had realised that he was experiencing the same range of emotions as I was, I was relieved.

"I'm the same way. My family is one of the most well-known supernatural hunters, and this entire legacy will be thrown upon my shoulders. My father works so hard to ensure that everything I do is perfect, so I understand," I explained. Noah was a delight to interact with. He only did one thing: he listened, which was more than anyone could possibly do.

"So, we're kind of alike, aren't we?" Noah enquired.

"I think we are," I responded, a genuine smile on my face. All around me, I sensed a significant improvement in the quality of the atmosphere, which was both comfortable and soothing to me.

"Mates?" I asked.

Noah replied, "Yeah."

Noah was called to the front desk just as I was going to ask a question. He presented his identification and completed documents, and the crowd greeted him cordially. I assumed they were aware of his family, and I could sense his distress. They gave him his timetable and academy ID once he finished.

"ALESSIA ALDINE!" exclaimed the woman. Slowly, I approached the front desk, handing the receptionist my identification and documents from my backpack. As I handed my items to the receptionist, a woman approached me with a phoney smile I was all too familiar with. Her jet black hair was swept to one side, and she had pale skin and beautiful green eyes.

"So, Aldine?" She said, her voice firm.

"Yeah, umm... I'm descended from a line of hunters," I answered gently, avoiding eye contact with the woman.

"Of course!" She exclaimed. Aldine is the most well-known and triumphant group of Hunters in all of magical history!" She was ecstatic. The way she shouted the name made me feel uneasy because suddenly everyone was staring at me in disbelief.

"Here's your timetable and ID badge, Alessia!" "Welcome to Hunters Academy!" With a genuine smile, the receptionist exclaimed.

"Thank you," I said, a smile on my face. I dashed towards Noah, who was sitting on a velvet couch near the entrance, as quickly as I could. I instantly walked over to him and sat down next to him on the couch.

"It's a little awkward, isn't it?" Noah enquired.

As we sat there, buried in our thoughts, I said, "Yep."

When I started talking to Alessia, I felt at ease. I've always disliked travelling to other nations, but my family never offered me the option. Either this or I'd be kicked out of my family. People treated me like a royal as soon as I landed in Canada, simply because of my name. It was depressing to understand that I would never be able to be myself with my family always following me, but what else could I do? All I could do was put up with the suffering for 5 years till I graduated and returned home, but I didn't feel like Japan was any longer my home. I've always enjoyed travelling, but if my parents found out, they'd kill me. Fortunately, I was able to find someone to accompany me on this painful experience at this time. Alessia. A grin spread over my face as I realised that at the very least, I had someone who was similar to myself.
