Hidden Fantasy-A Werewolf's Obsession

Chapter 4-Alessia

After a minute of awkward silence, I decided to speak up.

"So, what are the lessons that we both have in common?" I inquired. Noah began rummaging through his backpack for his schedule. We stared at them when he brought it out, and a beaming smile spread across my face.

"Look!" Except for the enchantment class, all of our classes are the same," I explained. I turned around to see Noah looking over both of our timetables with a smirk on his face.

"At the very least, I now have someone to talk to," Noah remarked. We stayed there for the next 15 minutes as all of the students got their IDs, discussing all of our classes and which ones we liked best. Shooting class in Mystic Forest for me, and Aviation class for Noah, all of which I enjoyed.

All of our classes were bizarre, and we had to study some strange stuff that I found ridiculous. Surprisingly, Noah enjoyed all of his lessons, but I had none since I knew we'd be partners and wouldn't be able to select. We were able to go to the Cafeteria after all of the new students were issued their IDs, which made us quite thrilled. Before we found out who we were bound to or destined to kill, I really needed a drink. As everyone rushed into the cafeteria, Noah and I went as slowly as we could to ensure that we were the last ones to arrive. This would ensure that we would be the last ones to arrive for the initiation ceremony. As we approached the massive structure, we encountered students crammed into every available space, so we chose to take the glass elevator in the corner near the stairwell. We decided to buy our beverages on the second floor and then relax on the third floor. As soon as the lift beeped to signal that we had arrived at floor 2, Noah and I exited and grabbed our beverages as quickly as possible. Noah requested an iced coffee large with a chocolate chip cookie, while I ordered a large Caramel Frappuccino with a croissant. We looked around floor 2 for anything unusual while waiting for our drinks, but all we saw was a small room at the far end of the building that appeared to be used as a janitor closet. We hurriedly grabbed our drinks and snacks and dashed to floor 3 as soon as they arrived. It was so silent there that the emptiness began to melt my entire body. Noah and I sat at one of the end tables, sipping our drinks. I felt the cool coffee surge into my system after just one sip, making me a touch drippy from the freshness. Noah suggested that we do some things to pass the time, so I chose to draw. I took out my sketchbook and resumed work on the painting I had begun in the car. I drew the characters' bodies with quick edges and light sketches of the river in front of them. My entire body felt like it was going to dissolve as the bell for the initiation Ceremony struck. We grabbed our beverages and swilled them down as quickly as we could before heading to the first floor. We ate our snacks on the way to Division 2 in the Academy's south end, where the main hall was located. Noah did his best to make me cheerful, which I appreciated, but even as he was doing so, my mind was still thinking about my father's expectations for me. Would this be the information that would eternally impact my life?

The woman from before roared, "Please stand in a straight clean line as we continue to the Initiation Ceremony in an organised manner."

We all rushed into the large hall in a straight line. The hunters slaughtering the Vampires and Werewolves were shown in paintings strewn across the top of the roof. Long velvet drapes hung neatly over the railings surrounding the windows, with candles lit by each central portion of the edifice. The white porcelain floor appeared to have been polished recently. The air smelled like burned roses, which both Noah and I thought was odd but didn't say anything about. We had to be lined up in front of the pine stage, with lights hung from the ceiling and curtains pulled. People began to appear from the entrance, carrying oval glass bowls and setting them on stage, along with many other items that I had no idea what they were.

"We'll bring you on stage one by one to determine which supernatural being you're destined to kill," With a menacing smile that scared the hell out of me, the woman added.

Many students were brought to the platform, where they had to slit their palm in an oval bowl with their blood dripping in the centre, hence the speaker told them who they were meant to attack after a few minutes. Many people were picked to slay Vampires and Werewolves on stage, but they were all of a low level. Then Noah was abruptly summoned to the stage.

"Good luck," I answered with a smile. He beamed at me as he moved slowly onto the stage. He was given a scarlet bowl with a knife resting on the side. Noah took the knife with caution and quickly cut slit his palm, letting his blood drip into the bowl's centre. The speaker announced the findings after a few moments of waiting.

A voice stated, "FACTION 4-GUARDIAN." Everyone was taken aback by the findings right away, and I knew why. Faction 4 were exceedingly hard to come by, and killing one was considered a major accomplishment. As he descended from the platform and approached me, Noah's expression was tense. He only gave me a shaky smile. Following Noah, a group of kids were assigned to either common vampires or low-rank werewolves, which everyone accepted as normal. After a half-hour wait, my name was suddenly called.

"ALESSIA ALDINE" A voice commanded. My palms were sweaty from the stress, and everyone's eyes focused on me as I went slowly towards the centre of the stage. I tried my hardest to maintain a confident expression, but the lights in my eyes made me feel uneasy. I stepped up the stairs to the stage, where the same woman handed me a charcoal bowl and a knife with a wooden handle. She strolled back to her old seat after placing them on a table.

With trembling hands, I raised the knife and slashed my palm as rapidly as I could, causing enough blood to trickle from my palm to the bowl's centre. My findings were not announced after a few minutes of waiting, which I thought unusual. Suddenly, a couple of the members of staff approached the speaker, muttering and glancing at me.

As the voice eventually spoke, the team shook their heads and returned to their seats after a few minutes of deliberation.

"DIRE ORCHID...RANK 6-ALPHA" yelled the speaker.
