Hidden Fantasy-A Werewolf's Obsession

Chapter 13-Alessia

I was having a hard time figuring out what I was going to say to Dad as I returned to the park. The light lamps had now been powered on, exposing the environment to a mellow glow. Small maple trees are distributed over the park, their leaves falling every minute. I sat on one of the nearby oak benches, sipping water from my bag. I couldn't comprehend how so much emotion had been concealed within me and how it had caused an earthquake to occur. Tears poured down my cheeks as I realised that these were the emotions that would always come back to haunt me.

Something grabbed my attention as I was placing my bottle back into my backpack. I lifted up my lake portrait and smiled when I saw it. This was a moment I had been looking forward to for a long time. To be free of worries and responsibilities, but even in that state, my mistakes weighed on me. When some men in black clothes appeared out of nowhere in the park, whooping and screaming like crazy, I kept the painting beside me. I knew they were intoxicated right away, however as they were humans, they couldn't see me, but then it hit me. When I exited the veil, I didn't know how to cast an invisibility spell. Slowly, I realised that it was time to leave. I stowed the painting in my luggage and got ready to leave. Whilst I adjusted the straps from my backpack just as men called from behind me.

"HEY! DO YOU NEED A RIDE HOME?!" They yelled as they laughed and broke glass bottles on the floor. I just kept walking, praying to God to help me get out of this mess.

"HEY, WE HAD A QUESTION FOR YOU!" They shrieked as they accelerated their pace. I began to run without looking back almost immediately. Suddenly, I heard faster-than-normal footsteps all around me. I was being pursued by the men. My heart began to beat faster, pumping as much blood around my body as possible to get me to safety, and adrenaline began to rise in my veins. I was out of breath in less than a minute but kept running. I knew precisely what these men were looking for, and it was...Me.

"GET HER!" They screamed at each other as they closed in on me. Fortunately, I was wearing boots for this type of situation, which greatly aided me. But then I glanced around and stumbled on a branch just as I was about to enter the veil. My face smacked against the ground, causing severe pain. I shook my head and saw three large shadows on the ground when I regained consciousness. As I looked up, I shuddered as I saw the men smiling down at me.

"What do we have here?" One of them said as he smiled broadly at me. The three circled me, preventing me from fleeing, making my chances of survival slim.

"Move away from me," I said angrily as I trembled in terror. They suddenly burst out laughing. This was my chance, so I booted one of them in the stomach so hard that they collapsed to the ground howling. As I grinned, the other two became enraged, and before I knew it, they had attacked me. They continually kicked me in the stomach, struck me in the face, and slapped me. It seemed like a bloodbath as blood splattered across the ground. All I could think about at the moment was preventing the pain from knocking me out, but as soon as one of them stopped, I passed out and slammed into the ground.

"Grab her. They murmured to one other as one of them snatched me up and flung me over their shoulder, "We'll use her and then dump her body elsewhere." I just hung there like a weak piece of meat. Then, in my slumber, the same voice from the island spoke to me once more.

"Alessia, wake up. Fight. "You are the only factor that prevents the war from happening," it warned. The voice was unmistakably that of a woman, and it was pleasant and smooth.

"Find the stake and ignite the power within yourself," it said, as a spark flamed within me. Everything was upside down when I opened my eyes. Since my hair obscured my face, it was difficult to see where I was. I brushed a small portion of it away to see that they had taken me to an abandoned warehouse near the park in the distance.

As the man pushed me from his shoulder and onto the ground, one of them said, "Throw her here." I awoke just as they were going to bring me into the warehouse, and heaven only knows what would happen afterwards. With surprised expressions on their faces, they all backed up.

"What the hell!" They remarked this as they drew metal poles from the surroundings. I immediately closed my eyes and re-expressed all of my emotions. They were only a moment away. I opened my eyes and felt a surge of strength in my palms, but it was different this time; it was more enraged. I shouted as one of the men tried to attack me, causing fire to erupt from my hands. It rained down on him, causing him to scream in agony as he frantically searched for a way of stopping it.

While he was doing this, the other two men attempted to hit me, but my rage overtook them, and they were on flames and screaming in pain in no time. They resembled my previous sparks, but with a more human appearance. As they yelled in agony, I took advantage of the opportunity to flee. I didn't even bother to look because I was so preoccupied with staying secure behind the veil. For in this need to escape my head and heart went to the place that is crushed and without light or match to bring a comforting spark. I felt the screaming of my lungs and the will of my muscles going far beyond what exercise could ever demand. This is my body and brain in full survival mode and it is nothing but pain. The men bellowed behind me as I approached the park. My thighs started to ache terribly as I trudged along the hard concrete floor. I tried to cry out for help but my voice didn't utter anything. I took a deep breath and began inhaling the fresh air around me just as I shut my eyes and jumped through the veil without hesitating. As soon as I jumped in, a thick, powerful energetic impulse struck me, indicating that I was protected. I didn't notice someone in front of me as I leapt inside, and I landed on top of them causing us both to collapse on the ground with me on top. As if things couldn't possibly get much worse.
