Hidden Fantasy-A Werewolf's Obsession

Chapter 17-Alessia

At that moment, I grabbed a blade from Aiden and joined the fight. Aiden looked at me, astonished, but all I could do was nod and wait for the attack to begin. Vampires began to fall from the sky and land in front of the river almost immediately, their wings piercing the air. When they saw us, their faces erupted in rage. Their fangs were exposed, and I realised what was going to happen. This was going to be a slaughter to finish off the pack. I dashed in front of the crowd, where Aiden was yelling at them.

"WHY ARE YOU HERE??!?" He screamed so loudly that the sound waves spread all over the location like a rippling effect. Suddenly, someone approached Aiden from the crowd of Vampires mid centre.

"TO KILL" A woman roared, her blood-splattered fangs dripping. Suddenly, jet black vines began to form under her Amythest eyes & her wings began to spread greatly, indicating that she was about to destroy us.

"Aiden, she's a member of Faction 5; stake her in the heart," I said quietly as I passed him a wooden stake.

"DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT I CAN HEAR YOU?" She laughed at me just as Aiden threw the stake right at her heart, but she caught it with one hand a split second before it touched her. Her face was crimson with wrath. Even Aiden looked astounded, just then the woman grabbed the stake and shot it right at Aiden, but my instinct cut it. I caught it just as it was about to reach him and threw it furiously at a Vampire by her side. As the Vampire burned to ashes on the ground, everyone was taken aback by what I had just done.

"YOU DIDN'T TELL ME YOU'VE GOT A HUNTER ON YOUR SIDE!" FROM THE ALDINE BLOODLINE! "I CAN SMELL THAT SICKENING BLOOD FROM A MILE AWAY!" She screamed in frustration.

"Well, now you've met me," I spoke as I grabbed two more stakes and blasted two more people near her, leaving her alone in ablaze. Her anger enraged me far more since she had just revealed the truth to two supernatural beings. Fire boiled within me, waiting for my command, but I wasn't going to use it. I had no choice but to kill her the old-fashioned way.

"BURN," I yelled as I drew a stake and drove it into the woman's heart when she was distracted. She stared at me, then at her heart, with a pained expression on her face. She burst into flames in an instant, and all that was left of her was her ashes a few seconds later.

"LEAVE NOW BEFORE I DO THE SAME TO THE REST OF YOU!" With a stake in my hand, I roared fiercely. All of the Vampires began to fly away in an instant, but one remained with a hood over his face with his Amythest eyes blazing.

"THIS IS A WAR EVEN YOU CAN'T STOP HUNTER" Just as they stared at us, the individual snarled and then began to spread his majestic wings and fly away. I slowly turned around to see a dozen bewildered expressions on me. Aiden yelled to his pack as they began shouting before I could even explain myself.

"She's a Hunter!" One of them screamed.

"Kill her," said another, and they all glared aggressively at me.

"SHE SAVED US AGAINST A VAMPIRE ATTACK! I UNDERSTAND THAT SOME OF YOU WANT TO KILL HER BUT AS YOUR ALPHA TOUCH HER AND NO ONE WILL BE WORSE THAN ME!" Aiden shouted as he took my hand and led me into the house in front of everyone. He began to take me upstairs and to his room before I could even thank him. He sat me down on his bed before going into the bathroom. I was completely taken aback by what he had just done for me.

When he returned, he was holding a first-aid kit. He knelt down and then opened my hand to reveal a large cut present. My hand dripped blood onto the floor, creating a little puddle.

As he proceeded to treat my injuries, Aiden replied, "Thank You."

"For what?" I inquired as Aiden doused me with rubbing alcohol, and I winced.

"For saving my life and my pack," he said as he wrapped a bandage over my hand and began packing up the items. I immediately took his hand as he rose to put the supplies away.

"Call it even then," I murmured, a timid smile on my face. As our gazes locked on each other, I felt as if the entire room was shrinking. But before anything else, Olivia re-entered the room.

"Oh," she said as she noticed us, and we abruptly parted ways.

"What exactly is it, Olivia?" Aiden had questioned.

"They're calling you down right now," Olivia replied, her face concerned.

"Give us a minute" Aiden spoke as he wandered into the bathroom and put the supplies away. It was an awkward situation considering Olivia was standing in front of me, yet I was speechless.

"I'm sorry for not telling you about you know" I mumbled. Then out of nowhere Olivia rushed towards me and hugged me tightly.

"Thank you," she said, clutching my waist tightly.

"Is it for lying?" I wondered as I stood there unable to breathe. Olivia eventually released me and told me the truth.

"You saved our pack. "The Vampires only fled because they were afraid of you," Olivia stated as we sat on the bed.

"Wait, why are they scared of me?" I asked with a curious expression.

"You are a descendant of the Aldine dynasty. Your family is the world's most powerful Hunters. Olivia continued, "You have the power to kill any supernatural being you want."

"Oh," I muttered, my head bowed to the ground.

"What's the matter?" Olivia questioned, her face devastated by my expression.

"I was intended to kill Aiden, but for some reason, I don't want to be a Hunter or live this life that was just handed to me," I replied, tears streaming down my cheeks. Olivia smiled as she took my hand in hers.

"You know how I know you're not like the rest of them?" She inquired.

"How?" I asked tears in my eyes.

"Because you didn't try to kill me when you saw me; all you did was ask for Aiden." Olivia continued, "Alessia, we can change our fates; it's up to us for what we become," and I felt instantly better. I immediately hugged her and conveyed my appreciation.

"Thank you," I expressed.

Aiden then came over from the restroom and said, "What's wrong?" when he noticed me crying.

"Nothing," I murmured, attempting to hold back the tears when Aiden came up beside me and wiped them away. He simply stood there, his fingers resting on my cheek.

"Guys, we have to walk downstairs, Do this later," Olivia said as she walked out the door, leaving us standing there.

"Are you ready?" Aiden questioned, a concerned expression on his face.

"Yes," I responded, taking his hand in mine and walking out the door.
