Hidden Fantasy-A Werewolf's Obsession

Chapter 23-Alessia

Devora said nothing as I began walking with her. In a panic, I clenched my necklace, thinking she wouldn't notice. As we walked towards the back of the building, I realised something wasn't right. I came to a halt in my tracks, attempting to figure out what was going on.

"What's going on?" In a perplexed tone, I inquired. Devora began to move around like a maniac, darting wherever.

"ALESSIA…RUN!" Her eyes began to turn dark with tendrils at the bottom as she bellowed. As I realised what was going on, I shrieked in horror.

Someone had possessed her with magic. I started running as quickly as I could without even glancing behind. But suddenly Devora emerged, her lips full of saliva, as I unlocked the back door to Division 2.

"Hello again," she murmured, her voice much deeper and more masculine this time. I screamed furiously out of nowhere.

"Who are you?" As a weapon, I snatched a piece of steel from the wall and growled at her.

"Don't you remember me?" She inquired as she burst out laughing and her entire body shifted. I was speechless, as smoke began to appear on Devora's body and emerge from within her. After the fog had cleared, a figure emerged from the mist.

"Save yourself, Alessia," Devora pleaded as the smoking man approached her and snapped her neck. Her eyes were still filled with horror and misery as she lay lifeless. I was taken aback when I realised who the individual was. I recognised him as he was dressed in the same hooded outfit in the attack on the werewolves.

He suddenly displayed a monstrous blade, engulfed in flames. I sobbed inside as I knew I couldn't murder him without a slab of wood. But then an idea formed in my head. I shut my eyes and encircled myself with the force field I'd just mastered. The force field blasted the man so far backwards that I couldn't even see him just as he attempted to strike the blade at me.

I started racing towards the Eclipse Gardens, which I had learnt about a few days before. When I arrived at the area, which was filled with magnificent plantings, I hunted for Vervain. I was so overjoyed that I decided to do some additional research about vampires. I was surprised to find the plant laying in the flower bed. I grabbed a handful of purple flowers and ate a few of them just as the man appeared. He laughed excitedly as he ripped open his crystal white fangs, preparing to lunge at me, just as I closed the field around me. I closed my eyes, understanding that I was about to either live or die. The man suddenly seized me and sank his fangs into my neck. A mixture of agony and distress. As dizziness overwhelmed me, my blood sprayed everywhere dripping on the petals of the plants and flowers. The man stepped back as the blood from his lips began to burn, causing him excruciating pain, just as I closed my eyes, ready for death to engulf me.

"You clever…" As I hurried towards him, enraged and unsteady, the man hesitated half-sentence. I smashed a piece of wood from one of the nearby pine trees and rammed it into his heart, and he burst into flames. The only thing that remained of him were ashes. To prevent me from dying, I pressed my hand on my wound, praying for a little more time. Unexpectedly the bell rang, and all of the students raced to the front entrance. Slowly, I began heading back to Ms Verlice's enchantments classroom, hoping she might help me. As I got there, I collided with hundreds of items and avoided as many teachers as I could. Tears streamed down my cheeks as I comprehended that the Vampire had just slain Devora and that I was about to die unless I got help. Just as I was about to enter the classroom, I called my driver to meet me at the front door, and I stepped into enchantments class.

While the wound was still present, half of my neck was drenched in blood. Ms Verlice appeared surprised when she spotted me as I stepped in.

"Alessia! "What happened?" She questioned as she began to approach me.

"Devora is dead. As tears streamed down my face, I added, "A Vampire invaded the campus, murdered her, and attempted to kill me." Ms Verlice abruptly moved to the far end of the room, fidgeting with a ring on her finger.

"Is the Vampire still chasing you, Alessia?" She inquired, her voice thundering.

"No… As I sank on a chair, breathing deeply, I exclaimed, "I killed it."

"Would you be able to provide me with a healing potion?" With my hand still stuck in my wound, I begged her. Ms Verlice abruptly began walking towards me and touched my wound without hesitation. Her fingers were dripping with blood.

"Are you able to assist me?" With my eyesight continually fading, I questioned her.

"Of course," she said cheerfully. As I waited for her to give me a potion, my entire body rejoiced, but then she did something unexpected. She stepped backwards, as mist in the air altered her entire appearance.

"Ms Verlice?" I inquired, my voice trembling.

A male responded, "Guess again." As my brain pulled a recollection forward, I stood paralysed and gasped.

With his Prussian blue eyes sparkling with pleasure, he turned to face me. This was the same teenager who had attacked our neighbourhood and was aware of my power.

I screamed, "Stay away from me," as I tried to back away, but he enhanced in front of me. His pupils dilated and his eyes glowed intensely.

"Do not move. He whispered, "Don't be scared," as he carefully titled my head while I shook in pain. I had a good idea what he was about to do, but I was too weak to stop him. I winced as he sank his teeth into my neck. My entire body was in excruciating pain.

I was aware that a significant amount of my blood was being drained which most likely kill me. The boy threw me to the ground and yelled in anguish just when I thought I couldn't take it any longer. As he coughed blood, his entire mouth fizzed in smoke. I didn't care about anything but my safety at the time. I drew myself closer to the door with each movement. When I got close enough, the boy grabbed my boot.

He yelled, "You're not leaving Guardian," as I pounded him in the face, forcing him to slump in pain. With the remaining energy in my body, I stood up and began running towards the front entrance, my palm on my neck. My wound leaked blood frequently, alerting me to the fact that I was losing a substantial amount of blood. Finally, I arrived and saw my car, but immediately a scream erupted from behind me. I turned around to see a teenage boy sprinting towards me. With a shriek, I rushed into the car as quickly as I could and shut the door.

"Ma'am, where are you going?" The driver murmured but then screamed as he looked in the rearview.

"Do you want me to take you to the hospital?" He was taken aback and requested.

"Just drive anywhere but home and the hospital," I urged just as the Vampire approached us. The car suddenly sprang to life and began going as rapidly as it could. I spun around to see fireballs being hurled at us.

"WHAT IS GOING ON?" The driver let out a mighty scream.

"VAMPIRE!" I screamed as I stared at the boy's enraged expression.

After a few minutes, I peeked out the window and gasped at what I saw. We were driving on a ledge with only one way out, which was guarded by the pursuing vampire. When I turned back, he was nowhere to be seen. I breathed a sigh of relief, hoping that we'd lost him, but I yelled as I peered forward. The Vampire was levitating in pleasure in front of us. I just remained there immobile until he started pushing the car towards the edge of the abyss.

We attempted to flee, but it was futile. I started looking for a way out right away, and then a crystal dropped to the ground. I grabbed it just as the boy launched the car down the mountainside, tumbling me over. I gripped the crystal and smashed it to the ground causing a portal to appear immediately. I hurled myself through the portal, thinking about the first thing that came to mind. Just as I jumped out of the portal I could see a blur of lights and individuals coming towards me but then all there was darkness.
