Chapter 26-Alessia
Aiden gazed at me, his expression filled with rage, and I stood there paralysed. I knew he heard everything, but there was nothing I could do about it. Rather than trying to communicate with him, I lowered my head to the ground in humiliation. Olivia sprang in front of me in an instant.
Olivia said, panting for oxygen, "Aiden, that's not what it appears to be." Aiden rapidly emerged, his hands tensed. When he shoved Olivia aside, and a glass of bowls fell and shattered on the floor. He then grabbed my hand and dragged me towards his room alongside him.
As he pulled me up the steps, I pleaded, "Aiden, let go!" I attempted to let go, but his grasp on me was just too powerful. We rushed inside the room, and he tossed me so forcefully that I landed flat on my stomach, my hand twisted. With tears in my eyes, I gasped in pain as I wrenched it back into place. I leapt to my feet, enraged.
"WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?" I yelled angrily at Aiden, who was also raging aggressively at me. He lunged forward, about to attack me, when I shielded him with my hands, knocking him backwards.
"YOU LIED TO ME," He yelled as his eyes began to blaze ferociously, signalling that his werewolf strength was transforming. He hit me so hard that I smashed into a closet before I could even say anything. He lunged towards me with his hand on my shoulders before I could even react.
"How could you do that?" I cared for you?" He stated this while fighting back tears. I couldn't do anything but remain there, gasping for oxygen.
"Can you tell me what you're talking about?" I inquired, cautiously.
"How come you didn't tell me you were a Guardian?" "It changes everything," he explained, his eyes sorrowful. Slowly, I began to form a force field with my hands, which sprung to life and blasted Aiden across the room, leaving him groaning on the floor. I began to move around the room, hesitantly gathering my possessions and hastily changing my clothes in the bathroom. Aiden was taken aback after he saw the force field ignited when I walked out in a hurry. I slung my backpack over my shoulder and began walking towards him.
"We were over even before we started," I lamented as I ripped the necklace from my neck and tossed it on the bed, tears running down my face. I took a tentative step out the door and down the stairwell, where Olivia stood speechless. I knew she had heard everything straightaway. I moved towards her after diminishing the force field.
"Thank you for everything, Olivia," I murmured as I handed her the clothes I was holding.
Tears streaked down her cheeks as she gazed at me. Slowly, I entered the kitchen and retrieved my book off the floor, which was littered with pieces of glass. I took it and began walking slowly towards the front door, recalling one final time all of my memories of this place. As I watched Aiden walk down the stairwell, heartbroken, tears welled up in my eyes. He pulled the necklace from his fingers and clutched it passionately.
I stated as I stepped out the door and shut it behind me, "I'll continue the research alone." I took a crystal from my pocket and crushed it on the floor with a mental location, and a gateway emerged instantaneously. Olivia came out of nowhere just as I was about to step inside.
"Please don't leave. Not yet please" She urged with sadness. I proceeded slowly towards her and hugged her one more time.
"I can't wait any longer." "We create our paths," I told her, and she stared at me with bewilderment. I turned around, still recalling Aiden's outrage, as I looked behind Olivia to see Aiden beside the entrance holding the door handle. But I couldn't do this any longer. I can't keep living in this Fantasy with him knowing that it's already shattered. I cautiously closed my eyes and stepped inside the portal without hesitation.
