The mortal part of the city was several times bigger than that of cultivators, this wasn't because they were more dominant, it was the opposite since the cultivators were the real people on charge, but it was because the mortals had a very high population unlike that of cultivators.
Before coming to this city, Wang Yu had done a small research about it. Although this city is under the jurisdiction of the Ice Hell Sect, it is mostly controlled by the Tang clan.
.
An ancient clan that participated in the independence of the Ice Hell Sect, so despite not having a cultivator at the Violet Core Realm currently, it has produced several in the past and now it has two elders. And an elder of Ice Hell Sect is someone at the tenth level of Qi Condensation.
For an ancient clan like the Tang clan, it wasn't formed solely of cultivators but mostly by mortals and the Rainbow Copper City's lord is a mortal from the Tang Family.
It was easy to enter the mortal part of the city but one has to abide by the rules of not using his cultivation power, not harming mortals and especially those from the Tang Clan, doing the first two will utmost get one expelled from the sect if he was an Ice Hell sect's cultivator, but harming someone from the Tang Family can bring one's death.
As for cultivators from outside the sect, they will be severely punished for the least mistake unless they have a big background but even so, they will still be punished, that's how dominant the Ice Hell sect is.
Nevertheless, despite all the restrictions a cultivator can use his power to protect himself, he also can ask for the punishment of some mortals if they have offended him. So a lot of cultivators who feel that they can't advance any further will stay in the mortal cities and enjoy a peaceful life.
And this has caused a lot of disputes to happen, since some of those cultivators were wanted. So the Ice Hell Sect and the other strong sects allowed those people to stay but only with a huge amount of money paid every month.
...
After entering the mortal part of the city, Wang Yu felt shocked by the number of people, the liveliness and the diversity of the businesses and activities going on. The streets were filled with mortals going about their daily lives, from merchants selling their wares to children playing games in the street.
Wang Yu walked around the city, observing everything and trying to blend in as much as possible. He was careful not to bump into people since with his powerful body whoever did will fall and may get hurt, which may draw attention to himself.
As he wandered around, he noticed that there were some cultivators in the mortal part of the city as well. Despite them trying to hide it, the Qi energy they absorbed unconsciously will always expose them, unless they use special techniques to hide it.
A cultivator's dantian will always attract the Qi energy, even when he's not cultivating. So in theory if a cultivator stays in a place with a high density of Qi energy he or she will improve even without meditating.
Wang Yu was in search of a caravan merchant who could take him to his gifts to the village. He had heard that there were several caravan merchants in the mortal city, and he was determined to find one that would safely bring the goods.
He began by asking around the city, approaching locals and inquiring about the whereabouts of the caravan merchants. He soon learned that there were several markets in the city where the merchants often gathered to trade goods and services. Wang Yu decided to check out these markets in hopes of finding a caravan merchant.
As he walked through the markets, he observed the various goods being sold by the merchants, from exotic fruits and spices to finely crafted weapons and armor. The crowds were thick, and Wang Yu had to navigate through them carefully, trying not to draw attention to himself.
He eventually came across a group of merchants who were selling various items from their caravans. Wang Yu approached them and asked if they were heading to his village's direction. They told him that they were not, but they pointed him in the direction of another caravan merchant who might be able to help him.
Wang Yu continued on his search, moving through the crowded markets and asking locals for directions. He eventually found himself in a quieter part of the city, where he saw a caravan parked by the side of the road.
He approached the caravan and spoke to the merchant, who was a man in his forties. He was slim and didn't wear fancy clothes unlike some merchants he had met on the way.
Looking at his merchandise, Wang Yu could tell that it was lacking. It seems that his business wasn't faring well.
"I would like to have a secret talk about business with you." Wang Yu said before showing the merchant a bag of gold coins that he had transferred before entering this part of the city.
Seeing the gold coins, the merchant's breathing become intense. Fortunately Wang Yu had done the move very quickly and he made sure that only the merchant was watching if not the other people will be in the same state.
One Qihou gold coin could provide all the necessities for a normal household a full year. Even if he sold all his properties he wouldn't have as much money as what's in the bag.
"Of course, how about we go Xihu Restaurant it's nearby and they have special rooms were we can discuss calmly."
The excited merchant then took Wang Yu to the restaurant, where they chose a private room and ask the servants not to bother them for a while.
The middle-aged man was called Tang Du, after sitting on his chair he decided to ask the question that was on his mind all this while "how can I help you friend?"
"Before discussing the business let me show you this." Said Wang Yu before taking his badge out.
Tang Du felt nervous "This is the Ice Hell Sect's badge, could it be that you are a disciple from there."
"Yes I'm and to make the story short, I want you to bring a lot of goods to my village and sell them with low prices to those than can afford them, if they can't then give it for free.
It's an easy task, but the difficult part is that I want you to make things in a very secretive manners, especially the bandits who may try to rob the village."
"If you can achieve this mission then I won't be stingy with you, but if anything bad were to happen to the village because of that, you won't be able to keep your head intact even if you stay in this city."
Hearing this and feeling the intense killing intent released by Wang Yu in the last sentence, Tang Du felt goosebumps all over his body. But after careful consideration, he felt that this was an opportunity and if he can perform well then it will improve his business hugely.
Tang Du patted his chest"You have my word, I will only bring my trustworthy people to your village, but what's the population of the village, where do they live and how much are you willing to pay."
Wang Yu liked how decisive this merchant was, "there are about a few more than a hundred mortals inside the village, as for its location it's about fifty mile from here, I've marked it on the map. And for the paiement feel free to ask whatever you want as long as it's not excessive." Wang Yu then handed him a map.
"Being excessive with a cultivator am I stupid" thought Tang Du. "It should be cheaper but since you want this thing to be very secretive, I will need to give more rewards to my employees. Also according to the map this village shouldn't be a farming village and is somewhat secluded so I will need to bring more goods. So how about 50 gold coins?"
"Deal." Wang Yu didn't care about some gold coins and since the deal was tolerable he accepted it.
After that Wang Yu left the restaurant, he was going to return to the cultivator's part of the city where he can learn more about the Qihou Land, especially from the other sect's point of view.
