Lavernius unsheathed his sword and stared down Kryptonick. The god stood still, observing Lavernius. Kryptonick's body was strange. It was the form of a human but with animal features. On his head he had goat-like horns and a dog snout. His gold eyes glowed brightly. Parts of his body had scales and other parts had fur. He wore dark obsidian armor that covered most of his body, except his head. Two obsidian swords were stashed on His waist. They seemed to be part of His clothing as they hung loosely like belts.
Kryptonick's voice was deep and scratchy. It echoed through the halls, "So, you are finally here."
"Your time has passed, Kryptonick." Lavernius said
"I beg to differ. I have been alive longer than you can imagine." Kryptonick said
Lavernius was quiet.
"Do you know why you are here?" Kryptonick asked
"I came to kill you and get revenge for my brother, Veritas." Lavernius responded
"No. You are here because I willed it. I sent Silvanus there. I knew Veritas would save you. I commanded Silvanus to kill him." Kryptonick said
"What?" Lavernius asked
"I orchestrated your entire journey here." Kryptonick said, "Now I am the only god alive. You have returned all my powers to me."
"Not the only one." Lavernius muttered.
"You cannot kill me!" Kryptonick said
"Then we'll see about that." Lavernius said
"You cannot beat me!" Kryptonick screamed, charging at Lavernius with his blades.
Lavernius stepped back and watched as the devil ran straight for him. He parried each blow easily and dodged every attack. The two swords clashed together, sending sparks flying everywhere. The two continued their battle and both moved quickly with their weapons. Kryptonick was smiling the entire time. He hacked and slashed at Lavernius and kept pushing him back. He swung again and again and again, cutting deeper and deeper into Lavernius' flesh. But even after being cut so many times, Lavernius didn't feel any pain. His skin remained unharmed by the attacks. Kryptonick smiled and took another swing. His blade cut through Lavernius' arm, but he healed too quickly for there to be any damage. Lavernius got more aggressive now and started swinging back, trying to get inside Kryptonick's guard.
The two continued to fight. They traded blows and avoided each others' attacks. Their swords clanged loudly and rang out against the walls. Kryptonick started using Energy and increased his strength. He was faster and stronger, but Lavernius matched his speed and strength. Both of them had so much stamina left, but since Kryptonick was using Energy He was running out faster than Lavernius. The god pushed Lavernius back.
"You are something else... Lavernius Bear." Kryptonick said
Lavernius dashed at Kryptonick and swung at his neck. He was too quick for Kryptonick to react. Lavernius' sword sliced through His neck but his head did not fall. He was regenerating at an unholy rate. Lavernius attacked as fast as he could. He inflicted so much damage in only a few seconds. Kryptonick used gravity Energy to push Lavernius away. All of the wounds healed, slowly but completely.
"You are starting to annoy me!" Kryptonick yelled.
His body began to crack. White light shone from the cracks in His skin. He began to use Cosmic Energy. His output was much more and he used it more aggressively. Spears and other weapons materialized in the air and flew towards Lavernius. Lavernius dodged and parried the attacks. The palace shook and moved. As Lavernius got closer to Him, he got slower and he couldn't get close enough to strike him. Kryptonick was sweating and breathing heavily. Lavernius was calm and hadn't broken a sweat yet. Parts of the palace acted as a barrier and also projectiles. Lavernius used the spears against Kryptonick. He hurled them with all his might at the god. This barrier surrounding Kryptonick was a technique using gravity Energy called G-Shield. It allowed Him to manipulate the gravity within this space. By doing this, he created a barrier and stopped the attacks from getting past. The closer something gets to the user, the slower it becomes and it never reaches them. Kryptonick pulsed raw Energy and pushed the spears away. Lavernius charged Him with full force and noticed that the barrier was down. He mightily swung his sword and barely nicked His neck. Lavernius stepped back and Kryptonick put his hand up to the wound and rubbed the blood off. Lavernius' eyes widened when he saw that the wound didn't heal.
Blood slowly and weakly poured out of the shallow wound. Lavernius held his sword up and swung down, Kryptonick blocked this blow with one of his swords. Lavernius struck the same sword in the same spot and broke His sword into pieces. He threw His broken sword on the floor and used both His hands on His other sword. The palace returned to normal, but Kryptonick would not give up. The white glow dimmed and then vanished, but the cracks in His skin did not heal. His movements were slower but His attacks were still strong. He kept moving forward and pushing Lavernius back. Lavernius noticed that Kryptonick was near his limit. Lavernius pushed him back and they stood still for a moment. Kryptonick was sweating and breathing hard, while Lavernius was just the opposite.
"This fight is almost over." Kryptonick said, catching his breath.
"I'm just getting started." Lavernius said, smirking.
"I know... I've seen it... I was doomed from the start. I am only one god, but you... you have the power and strength of two." Kryptonick said
Kryptonick got into a defensive stance. Lavernius got ready to attack. In one swift and fluid movement, he cut His head off. It was so fast Kryptonick couldn't even react. Before He could even blink, He has been defeated. The head fell to the ground and rolled on the diamond tiles. Blood spilled out from the severed head and the body. Now only silence filled the room. Lavernius dropped his sword. He stared at the dead body. It was lifeless and cold. The gold eyes were lifeless.
He walked over to the balcony. The suns began to rise above the horizon. The different colors painted the palace beautifully.
