Chapter 31: Last Chance

“Vivian, what happened?” Everett’s eyes danced in the light, wide and shocked as he took in Vivian standing at his doorstep. Vivian had failed to consider what she must look like, her body aching from the fight with Liam. She could feel the blood dried to her temple, the sweat that had cooled on the drive up here causing her hair to frizz wildly around her bruised face, and the blood still oozing her from her side, the stitches not holding on the ride.

“I’m sorry, I need your help, please,” Vivian begged, looking down at her blood coated hand that held the pressure on her wound. She could feel the fog taking over, her eyes starting to blur as everything in the last twenty-four hours collapsed on her shoulders. Vivian could feel her body starting to fall.

“Vivian,” was the last word she heard before everything went dark.
