Chapter 34: Not Again

BRYANT

I stared out the window in my office, watching a couple of tiny figures in the distance running circles around each other in wolf form. Tallia had been training with Dominic for a few days now and every time he reported to me, he sang her praise.

She was fast, and she’d be lethal when he was done with her. He was pretty certain she was already the fastest in the pack. Her wolf, it seemed, had been waiting for the opportunity to show her stuff, and now she was improving at an incredible rate.

I was proud, so damn proud of my mate.

A sudden sharp stab to my gut made me groan and double over.

Not again.

Another stab and I shoved up to my unsteady feet.

That was two. Two of my pack mates were dead.

I pushed the agony away and sprinted to the door. I flung it open and ran down the hall, scenting the air for anything out of the ordinary.
