TALLIA
I hadn’t felt true sunshine on my face in two days. As I stared out one of the living room windows, I could feel the heat from it, but not the accompanying breeze that’d I’d get if I were actually outside.
Bryant had said I could keep training with Dominic, but he’d taken that back. Instead, the two of us had found this rarely used living room. We’d shoved all the furniture to the side, and that gave us just enough space to train.
Outside, I watched as Thomas emerged from the forest. His head was bowed, and his hands were rubbing up and down on his thighs. Strange. Why was he in there? Maybe he was allowed, since he wasn’t technically a part of the pack. Jealousy pooled in my stomach.
“I need to run,” I said. I turned around to face Liza, who was sitting on one of the couches and reading another book on sigmas.
Liza looked up from her book. “Brooding about it isn’t going to make it more likely to happen.”
I huffed. “I know, but I needed to say it.”
