BRYANT
I pulled out Tallia’s chair for her before taking my own at our table.
One by one, the other council members entered the room. Each of them eyed my mate before taking their own seat. Cohen, the Vampire King, even made it a point to narrow his eyes at her before he sat in his designated spot.
“Let us begin,” Anthea, the Seer, said with a slight warble.
I pushed back my chair and stood. “I’d like to start by introducing my mate, Tallia James.” I waved toward her, then sat back in my seat.
“Welcome, Tallia,” Amelia, the Human President, said with a nod. Her wife, Emily, gave my mate a warm smile.
Cohen let out a huff and crossed his arms over his chest, but said nothing more.
The Magus gave her a charming grin that made me have to restrain a jealous growl.
The Fae King eyed Tallia with a wicked spark in his eyes and a smirk on his lips. I didn’t really want Tallia around him, either.
