"And I'm sure they are observing the inn as we speak. Remember earlier?" Ryan watched the three with keen eyes.

"We are the first group to arrive. And I was confident in my keen senses. The moment we arrived at the front gate, I swore I sensed no presence. The village was desolate as if the people living here abandoned the place. But when I turned my attention away for a second, they suddenly appeared."

"You're right" Jake agreed. "Earlier too. If I had not heard their footsteps, I would not have noticed there were people in front of us. And I knew there was no one there a second ago. It was as if, they appeared in an instant. Like they only let us hear their footsteps just to get our attention."

The group fell silent, and a bad feeling filled their hearts.

"Are they ghosts?"

"It's impossible to instantly appear if they aren't a ghost, right?" The young man beside Saphi named Andrew spoke nervously.
