Chapter 198 Superior

The children of the reincarnator, glanced at Ragnar in horror. His entire being screamed of power and supremacy and after what he did to their father that feeling was enhanced.

It didn't help that his clean cut face, with dark short hair looked so innocent. Like he hadn't just sent their father into a coma.

"Say hi to your father for me when he wakes up!" Ragnar ordered the kids and didn't spare them a second glance. He had one last place to visit. His final, biggest loss. The child he had raised from a young age, that perished on the very battlefield where Ragnar lost all his hard work. Not to mention most of the friends he's made along the way.

The journey to the former birthground of Isabella took almost no time. But only because he teleported again. The distance between her birth place and the old pantheon he fought for was indescribable. Only through the cracks in the dimension were Ragnar and his friends able to come so far away from where they started.

The traces of her energy had long since disappeared from her birthplace. Yet Ragnar managed to touch the very place she was born from. Through countless experiences in his life Ragnar had gained a theory long ago. What makes dimensions different from realms he had asked himself.

Well that's very interesting, in the beginning he thought it was something like, well infinity grants them strength, therefore they are infinite and are known as dimensions. But now he knew that realms of the seventh dimension are infinite, just like the dimensions.

What makes realms different in that case, well that's where Ragnar's theory came in. What if dimensions are living beings, a species? He thought it was outrageous at first, but that stopped when he saw Gluttony's memory of his younger life in the Fourth Era.

(Flash back)

"This place is weird, father, where are we?" a young boy asked.

The two were in a shiny place with hundreds of different creatures. All of them seemed to live their own lives, rarely attacking one another. But each time they would spot the two men the creatures of the place would attack them.

"This place we're inside isn't a place boy. It's a species! Dungeons, our home, are said to be based on these creatures. They're called Eldritch Gods and the space inside them is nigh infinite, ever expanding. Some of our elders call them Dimension. Some say that they aren't known as beings like us who are made out of Nothingness, Time and Existence.

Apparently they're from the first era, a species transcending the eras themselves. This one was just born apparently. In the native tongue of these creatures it has been named Seventh dimension. Apparently it's a new batch or something. Since there's already a Seventh dimension much older."

"Dad, if they're so powerful, does that mean they're stronger than the infinites, like Existence and Time?" the child asked, interrupting the father in his rant.

"No, heavens no. Listen kid, Dimensions are the first thing to come to be! Karma itself told me how they were born just some days ago and till this day I can't help but tremble. They aren't beings like us you see.

When Existence, Time and Nothingness gained consciousness, said to have been an infinite amount of time in the past, they were born. As the three true concepts intertwined the very first two dimensions were born. The first dimension and the second dimension.

"These beings would later on go on to create different kinds of life. It differed from their names. The first one had the beings known as one dimensional beings. While the Second one had two dimensional beings.

"It's said that existence liked what it saw and created different kinds of these beings and Time liked it just as much. They quickly made more and more dimensions and more creatures. All are forgotten till this day. Only the dimensions remember the thing from the first Era!"

"Father, why are you telling me this?"

"Well, I'm afraid! You see, Karma told me two things when we met. First about the dimensions and second about the purge!

"The purge is the end of an Era son. When the time has come, all beings inside and outside the dimensions will be exterminated. The only known survivors are the dimensions. The seven dimensions that have been chosen are the newborn. They will be the source of all lives, for the infinites new project.

"They plan to have children, directly connected to their power and only theirs. They will be known as Zerosaur, Time Raptors and Sun Dinosaurs. The very dimension we're in right now will be their home. The problem is, if a Zerosaur and a Sun Dinosaur makes a child it will be more like a dimension then their own race, that they're supposed to be. So heavy limitations will be placed. No full on hybrids of dimensions are to be born. For they can break the very rules the dimensions imply on them!

"The reason why I'm telling you this is simple. I made a deal with Karma! You will be reborn in the fifth era. Please live your life there, for you didn't have time to live your life here!"

(End of flashback)

Those were the last words of Gluttony's father. Thanks to them Ragnar decided to visit this place. Not to mourn his friends, while he also did that and used this as an excuse for himself that it would only derail him from his path to victory for some seconds. So he allowed himself to grieve.

Ragnar hasn't been living in the dimension for the longest of time, before he thought that everything was connected to the dimensions. But with this new information he understood that the dimensions weren't everything. In the beginning he thought there were eight dimensions, but now he understood one crucial thing. Even if there was, the infinites don't live there.

Paarthadox words of advice for making realms made so much more sense now. He had to distance himself from the dimension for a good reason and why all kinds of dimensional beings could be in one dimension. Now the only question he had left, that not even the rivers of time itself, or his system had the answer for, why and how do creatures become different dimensional tiers and why do they go upwards in the dimensional rank and not down.

Ragnar wanted answers and he knew the fourth dimension was his only shot. It was the only dimension he's spent time in and the only dimension that has interacted with him.

Without any regards for life itself in the fourth realm Ragnar sent out waves of his powers towards the place Isabella was born. This was the place he was the closest to the dimension, so he thought he had the highest chance of getting answers.

The whole place became a wasteland, as all gods and giants died. It went on for days without end and the dimensions showed cracks all over the place. But Ragnar was no fool, the dimension itself wasn't harmed! It was just for show, a special means of travel for whatever's causing the mess.

As Ragnar was about to give up a voice all of a sudden echoed in his head.

"Do you have a death wish or something? First you serve that disgusting mutation of our proud species, then you help spread it into the other dimensions. I have time after time shown that I don't want you here. But I'm willing to forgive you and therefore I didn't send you away when you came here. As the chaos returned to itself and you no longer reek of that place. But I was wrong, the second you get the chance, you start rampaging, how immature. This is why your race is insignificant compared to us!" the creature rambled.

"Calm down mam! I just want to talk, those gods and giants wouldn't be dead, if not for being on these sacred grounds. I have a question, that's all, is Isabella truly gone?"

"Of course she is, she was born from my will and can't die without my permission little one. If she had died in a dimension and not a realm she would be gone for good. But since that's not what happened she's fine, in a way. If that's all, leave this place!"

"Why did you save her specifically?" Ragnar asked. His onslaught of questions irritated the dimension but it replied nonetheless.

"She was born intentionally, making her similar to a daughter born purely from my genes! One day she might even become a lesser dimension!" it answered.

"Can I ask you something, is our lives a lie? Are we just a pet project for the infinites?"

"Of course not. Listen kid, you are not worthless, neither are your friends. You amount to something to yourselves, right. We dimensions serve as a place for you people to live, I've watched countless generations live and die, asking the same question as you. But just like Judgement opened your eyes, the first dimension from the first era opened mine. I realized no matter how insignificant a life form is, or how useless it is to others. It's still alive. They can think, act on their own will. Sometimes even affecting things around them.

"From time to time I wish I was just another mortal, to be able to live like all of you. Life, no matter where it is, will always be precious, no matter how fake it is to others. If it's real to you, isn't that all that matters!

"Plus, everything is a project of infinity, heck the purge you heard about is just how they act when they've grown bored. How do you think the dimensions survive? We are literally a television for the infinites, we create all kinds of interesting worlds and species, all the stuff you can imagine. This is the only way of survival and it's how we survive the purge. When you grow bored of the program you change the channel, you don't destroy the tv! As long as they funktion they're kept around! Of course the newest technology is from time to time acquired, the new generation of dimensions!"

"That's horrible, wait does that mean the oldest are still alive and there's so much more outside of the bubble we live in?"

"That's right, though you seventh dimensional beings, pfft, as you call yourselves. You guys are actually decently strong, for creatures that aren't dimensions. But weak when compared to us, a pity in a way.

"Speaking of seventh dimensional beings, there are none! You're like a virus. You infect the dimension, make a bunch of realms here and there and fight over superiority. Heck you even make lesser versions of yourselves, like viruses do. Vermin, or whatever you call them!"

"Wait, why doesn't the seventh dimension have its own beings?" Ragnar asked, confused.

"It isn't allowed to. The infinites sealed it from having powerful beings, so its defense system wouldn't kill their entertainment.

"You see the weaker one is in our race the more numbers they have to their name. Like me I'm four dimensional, also called fourth dimensional. I'm the fourth born of the new generation and also the fourth strongest of the new generation!

"Sadly, even the sixth dimension is banned from having its own beings, as it's the place where the virus grows!"

"Thank you for telling me all of this, even if it won't help you, ever."

"Don't mention it kid, you are in a way my ex boyfriend that I have a kid with. That's the least I can do. But never and I mean never mess with the seventh dimension. It bites back from time to time, so when you get back there, act like we don't exist. Not even the previous version of you knew of us, that makes you superior!"
