Episode 18 - Tricksters

Fifteen years ago, two speedsters came running through a portal and started zooming down the street as they fought each other. At Barry's old house his mother was tucking him into bed. "Come on. Sweet dreams, my beautiful boy." She tells him as she gives him a kiss on the forehead. A few minutes later, she was downstairs in the living room, drinking a glass of wine when all of a sudden the liquid from the wine lifted up into the air. Suddenly two streaks, the Flash and the Reverse Flash came crashing through the window and headed towards Nora when a young Barry Aleen came down stairs.

"Mom!" Barry yelled.

"Barry, no!" Nora screamed back.

"Mom!" Barry repeated.

"Get back!" Nora shouted at him.

"Mom!" Barry cried. The Flash and the Reverse Flash continued to fight when the Reverse Flash headed towards young Barry's figure, but he didn't get the chance to strike because Barry was taken to safety by the Flash.

Back in the present, Barry was up in his and Atchaco's lab looking at the bulletin board he had made. "All right, this is everything that we know about Harrison Wells, which is actually not a lot." Barry sighed.

"Didn't you two read a whole book about him?" Joe asked.

"Yeah, 600 pages, and the big takeaway is, he's enigmatic." Atchaco replied.

Joe turns towards Barry. "Your mom was killed by a speedster." He reminds him. "Wells' machine turned you both into speedsters. That's way too many coincidences for this old cop."

"Do you think that he wanted us to become The Flash and Thunder?" Barry questioned.

"Everything he's done since that night you two got struck by lightning... bringing you both to S.T.A.R. Labs, giving you the suits, training both of you... it's all been to keep you guys safe." Joe tells them.

"And to make me faster." Atchaco points out.

"Wells once said that he needed more speed from us. Why?" Barry wondered.

"I don't know." Joe sighs. "But he wants something from you two. We just need to figure out what it is."

"Well, let's go get him then. Let's get some answers." Atchaco said.

"We can't do that now as much as we might want to." Joe told her.

"Joe, you had your suspicions about Wells from the very beginning. You thought that he might be the man in yellow." Barry reminds him.

"Except the blood from your house didn't match him." Joe replies.

"All right, so maybe he's not the Reverse-Flash, but you think that he knows what happened that night." Atchaco said.

'He may have the key to getting my dad out of prison." Barry told him.

"Whatever Wells wants from the two of you, it started 15 years ago. He's been patient. Scary patient. You gotta listen to me on this. We have to be just as patient." Joe argued.

"Yeah." Atchaco sighs as Joe covers up the bulletin board with a map of the city.

Later at Central City Park, children were playing on the playground while their parents watched them when suddenly, small parachutes containing small gifts came falling from the sky. Suddenly, one of the gifts hit the floor and it exploded, and that's all it took for everyone to start running and panicking. More boxes exploded on the ground, and it could be heard all the way over to Atchaco and Barry's lab. They both look out of the window to see smoke. Barry and Atchaco shared a glance and zoomed out of the room.

Back at the park, a father was searching for his son, Henry, who was reaching out for one of the boxes. Just as he was about to touch it he gets rescued by Macanese and Barry. "Henry? Nice name." Barry said before he and Macanese zoomed away. What they didn't know was that on top of one of the buildings, a man wearing a mask was recording himself.

"Tricked ya." He laughs. "Look who's back. My tricks. My treat. But I'll give you something good to eat. Today's special. A city in ashes. The Trickster proudly welcomes you all to the new disorder."

Back at STAR Labs, everyone was watching the video. "Talking in the third person. That's never a good sign." Cisco noticed.

"You're just mad because he named himself." Caitlin replied.

"Actually, he didn't." Cisco told her. "20 years ago, Central City was hit by a series of terrorist attacks. One man killed at least ten civilians, two cops. That guy called himself The Trickster." He then looks at some outdated pictures of the trickster. "Whoa. Someone was rocking the unitard." Cisco then puts the profile on the screens in front of them.

"James Jesse?" Caitlin wondered.

"Like Jesse James, only more twisted." Joe said.

"Where is this Mr. Jesse now?" Wells asked.

"He's serving several life sentences at Iron Heights. He was just about the most dangerous thing Central City had ever seen." Joe answered.

"You mean until the Particle Accelerator blew up." Barry corrects.

"Um…" Wells said.

"Barry, Atchaco and I will go see James Jesse at Iron Heights, see if he can give us something that can help us catch his groupie." Joe told them.

"Yes we will." Atchaco replies as she walks out of the door with Barry.

"I'll analyse the video and see if I can figure out the source." Cisco said as Joe started walking towards the door.

"Hey, Joe. Is Barry doing all right? He seems cranky." Wells asked.

"Even The Flash wakes up on the wrong side of the bed some mornings. He's fine." Joe tells him, walking out of the lab.

Wells is then pulled into a flashback. He, as the Reverse Flash, is zooming around Nora as Henry arrives and stands next to Barry. "Mom!" Barry yelled.

"Nora, hold on! Run, Barry, run!" Henry shouted. Just then another speedster runs inside the house and grabs Barry and takes him far away from the house. The speedster was an adult version of Thunder. Then the Flash and Thunder zoom away as the Reverse Flash follows them before he starts to lose speed and trips over his own two feet and glass face first onto the street. The Reverse Flash turns on his communicator on his glove.

"Gideon, what's happening to me?" He asks.

"Your latest time jump against The Flash caused a massive drain on your powers. Your cells contain no trace of The Speed Force." Gideon answers.

"That's impossible." Reverse Flash tells her.

"Your ability to move at super-speed as well as travel in time has been completely depleted." Gideon informs him.

"How am I supposed to get back?" Reverse Flash asked.

"You can't." She replied before shutting herself off. Reverse Flash screams in anger for he was now trapped in another time and couldn't get home. He yanks off his mask revealing his true face. If I were to say that he was made about being stuck in another time would be putting it really mildly, he was beyond pissed and that could never be good.

At Iron Heights, Joe, Barry and Atchaco go into another part of the building to go see James Jesse. "Never seen this part of the prison before." Barry admitted.

"Yeah, I had to have this cell specially built for James Jesse about five years ago." Joe told him.

"Why is that?" Atchaco asked.

"A criminal psychologist set up weekly visits with him. James talked the shrink into committing suicide. Oh, you're gonna need these." Joe said, handing Barry a bag of Twizzlers.

"Okay." He replied as he took the bag. They then walked into the room where James Jesse's cell was and they could see he was in the middle of it.

"Gentlemen. M'Lady. Please, be seated." James greeted them and they sat down in the chairs in front of them.

"I'm Detective Joe West." He introduced himself. "This is Barry Allen and Lady CyAmze Macanese. Uh, we'd like to ask you a few questions."

"Mmm. I can smell them in your pocket. Mmm." James smiles. Barry takes out the Twizzlers and puts them into a compartment in James's door so he could get them.

"Yesterday, hundreds of these parachute bombs were released throughout Central City." Atchaco informs him as she puts the crime scene photos in the compartment.

"Huh. Fun idea, but not an effective delivery system. How many died?" James wondered.

"No one, luckily." Joe answered.

"You know, when I was free and at my height, a day without casualties was like... well, like the Cubs winning the pennant... it just never happened." James chuckled.

"The explosives they found in all the parachute bombs had the same explosive composition as the bombs you set off 20 years ago." Atchaco told him.

"That's impossible. I never told anyone that formula." James admitted.

"The signatures are an exact match." Barry replied.

"He called himself The Trickster too, just like you." Joe said.

"He is nothing like me, Detective. Nothing!" James argues.

"Do you know who he is?" Joe asked.

"Oh." He sighs, opening the compartment and taking one of the crime scene photos. "If I did, I would tell you, so you could find him, cut off his head, and throw it right in his face." He presses the picture up to the glass. "No, this is obviously the work of a rank amateur at best. A mere pretender angling for my throne."

"I hear you. So... help us catch him. Prove there's only one Trickster." Joe replies.

"Trying to trick The Trickster, Joseph, hmm?" James laughs as he takes the Twizzlers. "No. There's only one way this could happen. Whoever he is, he must have found my lair. I ask only one thing, when you find this schtick stealer, this gimmick grabber, this pathetic wannabe, fake, make sure your safety's off." He then takes a bite of one of the sweets.

Later at Central City Police station, Iris was walking down the hall with Eddie. "Something has happened to Mason Bridge. No one has seen or heard from him in a week." Iris said.

"Well, he's a journalist, Iris. Maybe he's on a story." Eddie tells her.

"Then why hasn't he answered his phone or his emails?" Iris asked.

"Maybe he stumbled on the wrong story and he's laying low." Eddie answers.

"You don't know him like I do, Eddie." Iris reminds him. "When Mason is in a story, nothing is getting in his way. I mean, he considers threats minor annoyances."

"Then maybe he's on a bender or he met a girl worth disappearing for a week over." Eddie sighed.

"Look, he also said that something weird was going on at S.T.A.R. Labs. Eddie, something has happened to him. Something bad. I can feel it. Please." Iris argued.

"Look, Captain Singh has everyone on the Central City Park bomber. But as soon as I can, I'll look into Bridge. I promise." Eddie told her.

"Okay." Iris said as Eddie gave her a quick kiss before leaving.

Later, Barry, Atchaco and Joe are at James Jesse's old hideout. "This looks like nobody's been here since the '90s." Joe noticed.

"Yeah, look at this thing." Atchaco said, pointing to an old costume. "You really think Jesse doesn't know who this new Trickster guy is?"

"He seemed pretty ticked off that someone was besmirching his bad name." Joe reminded them.

"Joe." Barry said as he pointed to a garage door. When Barry goes to open the door it didn't open, it was locked. Barry and Atchaco vibrate the door with their hands and it unlocks.

"Let's see what he's got stashed in there." Joe said.

"Yeah." Atchaco agreed. When the doors open, Barry and Atchaco start to hear ticking and they quickly zoom out of the way with Joe before they are caught up in the explosion.

"Damn." Joe groaned.

Barry turns to Joe. "You good?" He asks. They all then walked over to the room where the explosion came from to see that it was empty.

"The copycat... he took everything." Atchaco pointed out.

Back at Iron Heights, they were following an officer down the hall when Barry stopped in front of his father's cell. "Hey, c-can we have a second?" Barry asked.

"Yeah, sure." The security guard answered.

"Just…" Barry turns to Joe and Atchaco, who both nod. "Dad. Hey."

"Barry. Hey." Henry smiled. "What are you doing here?"

"Uh, Joe, Atchaco and I have some questions for an inmate about a bombing case. Dad, listen, I'm close. The man that put you in here... I'm getting closer, closer than I've ever been." Barry replied.

"Barry, we have talked about this." Henry reminds him.

"I know, and I'm done talking. You're not gonna pay for another man's crime anymore. Just hang in there, okay?" Barry said as he walked away with Atchaco right behind him.

"Joe, what's he talking about?" Henry asked.

"Like he said, Henry, just hang in there." Joe answers as he walks away.

Minutes later, they walked into the room of James's cell. "What? No candy, fellas, lady?" James moaned.

"That storage space you sent us to was booby-trapped." Joe told him.

"You can never be too careful with your private things." James chuckles.

"You were protecting nothing. Your secret stash was empty." Atchaco informed him.

"What do you mean?" James asked.

"No firearms, none of your explosives, nothing." Joe answered.

"Whatever you had in there, it was stolen, all of it." Barry said.

"No. He's stealing my legacy." James complained. "Whoever this is, you need to find him. I will not let this... this…"

"Trickster?" Joe suggested.

"That is my name! Mine!" James yelled.

"What was in that room? What were you keeping there?" Joe asked.

"A bomb. A really big bomb." James answered.

"How big?" Atchaco questioned.

"Bye-bye, Central City." James smiled as Barry's phone rang. He looks down at the screen and answers it.

"Cisco." He greets the man on the other end.

"Yo, this Trickster guy just posted a vlog. You gotta see this. I'm sending Atchaco the link right now." Cisco said.

"Okay." Barry replies as Atchaco opens up a hologram of the video on her cybernetics.

"Denizens of Central City, or those of you who remain, welcome to Boom Day. I'm very proud to report that my first trick was an exploding success." He laughed.

"Show him." Joe ordered. Atchaco walked over to the glass of the cell and turned the hologram around so James could see it properly.

"But I think you all deserve something much, uh, bigger." He continues.

"No, no, no, no, no." James groans as he looks at the video.

"So for my next trick... Keep your eyes glued." He smiles.

"Take off my mask, you fraud. Keep your eyes glued... Pretender. Sham. Take off my mask. Take off my mask. Take off my mask!" James yelled as he slid down to the floor.

Back at STAR Labs. "This was posted a few hours ago. Whoever this Trickster is, he's certainly not shy." Wells points out.

"Well, not every criminal likes to hide in the dark." Barry reminds him.

"Cisco, can you trace where the video was posted from?" Atchaco asks. "Triton's tried and failed but he thinks you can."

"I tried, but this guy is using some crazy Felicity-calibre scrambler like I've never seen." Cisco admits. "The origin of the upload's comes from hundreds of different locations. Until he uploads another video, it's gonna be tough."

"This psychopath has the capability to destroy the city." Barry reminds him.

"Hey, I said tough, not impossible." Cisco tells him.

"Barry, we'll catch him. We always do." Caitlin reassures him.

"Mr. Allen, a word please?" Wells said. As Wells and Barry walk into another room, Athaco and Joe share a worried look.

"I know what's going on with you. I know what you're thinking." Wells said as he and Barry talked alone.

"Do you?" Barry wondered.

"I know going up to Iron Heights prison and conversing with Mr. Jesse has brought about feelings of your father. How could it not?" Wells answered.

"Yeah, no, it's, uh, it's been really tough knowing that my mom's killer is still out there." Barry admits.

"Of course. But we'll find him, together. You have my word." Wells reassures him, lying through his teeth.

"Thank you." Barry replied.

"For now, how about we focus on finding this Trickster before anybody else gets hurt?" Wells said.

Barry looks down at his phone and sees he has a message for Flash and Thunder from Iris. "I have to go. But thanks for the pep talk." Barry said.

"I'm always here for you. You and Atchaco." Wells reminds him. Barry nods and walks out and Wells is pulled into another flashback.

Harrison Wells is sitting on the beach with his fiancee, Tess. "Research laboratories unconnected to the government, unconnected to any business interests or any of that kind of stuff." Harrison smiled. "And then we build right downtown in the heart of the city, in the epicentre, and we become the heart of the city. We become the heart of the nation. We change the way you think about the sciences, and then…" He notices her staring at him. "What?"

"Just that my father would have loved you... as much as I do." Tess admits.

"Well, I wish I could have met him." Harrison replies.

"Oh. And what would you call these laboratories?" Tess asked, looking at the drawing.

"Well, we, Tess Morgan, would call them 'The Technological Engineering Scientific Studies,' or T.E.S.S., for short." Harrison tells her.

"Well, that is very, very sweet." Tess admits. "But how about... 'Scientific and Technological Advanced Research Laboratories' or S.T.A.R. Labs, for short? Because in the vast night sky, you, Harrison Wells, are the only star I see."

"That's gonna get you kissed." Harrison said.

"Oh." Jess chuckles before they start to make out. Standing in the distance, like a creepier, Eobard Thawne was watching them.

Late at night, Iris was waiting for the Flash and Thunder at Jitters. Iris sighs and as she is about to leave, giving up on waiting for them, Barry and Macanese come zooming in. "I thought you were a full-time reporter now." Macanese said.

"Why are we meeting here?" Barry asked.

"I still have a key. And this is kind of our place, right?" Iris smiles.

"What's up?" Macanese asked.

"My coworker Mason Bridge is missing." Iris informed them. "He's not at home. He's not answering his phone. I mean, it's not like him. I am really worried that something bad has happened."

"I'm sure he's fine." Barry replies.

"That's what Eddie says. That's what everyone is saying. Please, will you look into it? For me?" Iris begs.

Macanese and Barry look at each other for a bit. "Of course." Macanese answers.

"Thanks." She replies looking over at the Flash. "Um, are you okay? You seem like you have a heavy heart."

"Sometimes I'm not sure why I wear a mask with you." Barry admits.

"Well, maybe one day you'll take it off." Iris smiles and Macanese tries not to get jealous.

"Heads up. Trickster's broadcasting again." Cisco told them and Macanese brought up the video.

"Get ready for the games to begin!" The Trickster cheered. "I have...a bomb. It's a big bomb. It'll make a big bang and then a big hole and then a big drop in the pop-ulation. But never say The Trickster is not fair. The bomb is somewhere between 52nd Street and Avenue B." Macanese and Barry glance at each other before zooming out of Jitters.

At the precinct, all of the police were watching the broadcast. `"I want all units, every uniform, every detective searching that area right now. Somehow we need to alert The Flash and Thunder." Singh ordered.

"Something tells me they already know." Joe told him.

Meanwhile, Barry and Macanese were racing around quickly through the city, searching for the bomb. "Guys, we can't find it. We need your help." Macanese admitted.

"There's nothing on traffic cams or CCTV." Caitlin informed them.

"I retasked the S.T.A.R. Labs satellite to scan the area for incendiary devices. A bomb that large should be giving off some kind of thermal or chemical signature." Cisco said.

"Well, then why can't you find it?" Barry asked.

"Because it's a trick. The bomb's not there." Wells answered.

"No, it has to be. I'm gonna keep looking." Barry argued.

"That is what he wants, for you and the police to keep running around in circles. There is something else going on, Barry. I can feel it. Now, trust me. " Wells informs him.

"We're gonna keep looking." Barry said. Macanese stares at Barry, internally asking what he is doing.

"Barry? Macanese?" Wells calls out.

"Why doesn't he just listen to you?" Cisco asked.

Barry and Macaese continue to run around the city until they finally found where the bomb is. "We found it… I think." Macanese told them.

"No, this is it." Barry said. He walked up to the box where the bomb was supposed to be but when he opens it up there was nothing there but two words. Just two: Tricked you.

Later at Iron Heights, the trickster was there and he sets off a bomb which sounded the alarms.

Back at STAR Labs, they got the notification from what just happened. "Uh-oh, there's an explosion at Iron Heights." Cisco informs them.

"This was all a diversion." Wells realises.

"The prison was the real target." Caitlin notices.

"James Jesse. I guess he's tricked us all." Wells said.

Back with Barry and Macanese, they called Joe about the bomb. "Joe, there's no bomb in this city. It was a diversion so The Trickster could help James Jesse escape." Macanese told him.

"I know." Joe admitted. "We just got surveillance footage from Iron Heights. Jesse got away. Barry, look, they took a hostage."

"Well, who did he take? A guard? The warden?" Barry asked.

"No. Your dad." Joe answers.

At James Jesse's new hideout, the new trickster was with James and they had Henry tied up to a chair. "You have to admit, that was one hell of a trick." James laughed.

"I cannot believe we're finally in the same room." He cheers. James chuckles as he starts to build something. "I mean, you're my hero."

"You need a better role model, kid. Can't you see? He's just using you." Henry points out.

"Why did we bring him along? Huh?" He asked.

"Because his son works for the CCPD. Should we find ourselves in a jam, a cop's dad makes an excellent bargaining chip." James reminds him.

"Right." He said.

"I wouldn't worry too much about what the cops might do to you." Henry told them.

"Really?" James questions.

"If the police aren't able to find you, trust me, The Flash and Thunder will." Henry smiles.

James laughs as holds up two metal cuffs. "Here's hoping." He laughs.

"So what's next? In your last letter, you said you had something big in mind for when you got out." He said.

"I've had 20 years to come up with the perfect trick." James told him. "It's going to be my masterpiece. My Mona Lisa. My Breaking Bad season five. They gave me cable in prison so I'd stop killing the guards."

"Right. There's just one thing I've been dying to ask. Why did you choose me?" He wondered.

"Because I knew you had the strength to fulfil my legacy. Besides, it was in your blood." James replied.

"Wait. What do you mean in... in my blood?" He asked.

"The real reason I tracked you down and groomed you to be the best you could possibly be, Axel... I am your father." James answers. Axel laughs with joy and even tears up a little.

Back at STAR Labs, everyone was standing (or sitting) in the cortex. "We were able to identify the other Trickster. His name's Axel Walker, age 25. Apparently he and James have been corresponding through snail mail for over a decade." Joe iforms them.

"I should have been there." Barry sighed.

"We're gonna find your dad, okay?" Atchaco reassures him as she holds his hand.

"Definitely." Cisco replied.

"I guess I should have listened to you." Barry admits as he gets up and walks out of the lab as Wells goes into a flashback.

It was late at night and it had just stopped raining as Harrison and Tess drove down the road. "Sorry, I am so tired." Tess yawns. "I think I'm just gonna put on my pyjamas, go straight to bed when we get home."

"Really?" Harrison asked.

"No. Definitely not wearing pyjamas." Tess smiled.

"Hello." Harrison said and Tess chuckled.

Up ahead, Eobard Thawne was waiting for them. He had placed spikes in the middle of the road and when the car hit them it flipped over a couple of times before stopping, the car was flipped over and Harrison and Tess were inside. Harrison gasps as he wakes up, but Tess is failing fast. "No, no, no. Tess. Tess. Tess! Oh, no. Oh, no. Tess. Tess." He cries before he sees someone walk up to the car. "Oh, thank God. You gotta help me. Please help me. Oh. She... she's…" The person who came over to their car was Eobard Thawne and there was no way he was going to help. "What are you doing? What are you doing? Help. Call someone! Call anyone! Can't you see she's dying?"

"This woman has been dead for centuries." Eobard sighs. He looks at Harrison before he walks away.

"Help!" Harrison yelled.

Down in the pipeline, Barry was sitting in front of the door when Joe walked over to him. "You okay?" Joe questions.

"Do you think my dad is still alive?" Barry asks.

"Yes." Joe answers. "Yes, he is. Of course. Jesse only took your pop to use as leverage. He might be crazy, but he's not stupid. And everyone upstairs is looking to find him."

"So now I'm supposed to just leave my dad's fate in the hands of a man who may have had something to do with my mom's murder. Joe, I can't do this." Barry admitted.

"Yes, you can." Joe told him.

"It just doesn't make any sense." Barry sighed. "I mean, if Wells is a murderer, then why does he want to help me and Atchaco? Why has he helped us stop so many criminals? Or saved Ronnie? Why didn't I see this?"

"I spent 1/10 as much time with him as you did, and he almost had me believing in him." Joe confessed.

"Almost." Barry repeated as his eyes began to water.

"Look, whatever else he is, he is Harrison Wells. You love science. He is science. It's like you made best friends with Einstein." Joe jokes.

"You're saying I wanted to be tricked." Barry pointed out.

"You always want to be the person who sees the best in people." Joe reminded him. "I've been a cop for 25 years. All I can see is the flaws, the lies, the dark thoughts that people think I don't see. I wish I could be you. As fast as you are, that is your real power. Don't let Wells take that from you. I don't know why he's helping us. All that matters is that he is."

"I can't lose my dad, Joe." Barry cries.

"Barr. Barr, come on. Come on. Come on." Joe said as he pats Barry on his shoulders and comforts him.

Later, Iris was walking into city hall for an event to re-elect the mayor and she was all dressed for it too. "Hi. Iris West, I'm with Central City Picture News." The guard nods and she is cleared to go in. "Thanks."

"Champagne, miss?" One of the waiters asks as they walk up to her.

"Oh, thank you." Iris answers as she takes the champagne and walks away.

The waiter turns around and it turns out to be James. Axel then walks up to him. "We're almost out of champagne." Axel tells him.

"Then the fun's about to begin." He laughs.

Minutes later, Iris walks up to the mayor. "Oh, Mayor Bellows, hi. This is a lovely party." Iris smiles.

"Thank you." Mayor Bellows replies when suddenly, James and Axel go up on the stage.

"Welcome, welcome, Central City's finest." James chuckles. "How about a toast to Mayor Anthony Bellows? He doesn't just yell at his staff, he bellows! You see what I did there with the wordplay and the... Tough crowd."

Bellows walks up onto the stage and over to them. "Excuse me. Who are you?" He questions.

"How quickly they forget." James answers. "James Jesse, your honour, aka The Trickster." He takes off his disguise so they can reconquise him. "And I'm here to relieve you fine people from all your money. Because we know if you're in this room, you've got loads of it." Axel then takes out a gun from under the podium.

"What makes you think that anyone in this room would give you a cent?" Bellows asks.

"Because that champagne they just slurped down like so much fruit punch... I added a little something special to it. Trimethylmercury 32. Poison. Without the antidote, you'll begin to feel the effects in about, oh, um…" James chuckles.

"One hour." Axel whispers to him.

"One hour." James tells them. Suddenly, one of the guests starts to choke and foam from the mouth as he grabs his throat. "I remember you. You got to the party about an hour early. I offered you the very first glass of champagne." James chuckles. "An hour is plenty of time for all of you to call your bankers and transfer everything you have to the account number on the bottom of your glass. Once my young friend and I are rich, you'll get the antidote. If any of you decide to call 911 instead." He pulls out a gun. "Well, then we switch to lead poisoning." Iris hides her phone as he quickly starts calling her father's number.

At STAR Labs, everyone was searching for them. "Anything?" Atchaco asked.

"I'm scanning all the traffic cams in the city. I got nothing." Cisco sighed as Joe's phone rings.

"Hey, baby. Iris?" Joe said as he answered the phone before quickly putting it on speaker.

"How many of you feel the Trimethylene 32 coursing through your veins, hmm?" James chuckles.

"That's him. That's Jesse." Barry told them.

"Cisco, can you ping her phone?" Joe asked.

"I'm on it." Cisco answers as he starts to track Iris's phone.

"Trimethylene 32 is a relatively fast-acting poison." Caitlin informs them.

"Is there a cure?" Atchaco asked.

"Yes. We can start synthesising the antidote right now." Wells tells them.

"Cisco, where is she?" Joe questioned.

"City hall." Cisco answered.

"The mayor's having a fund-raiser there tonight. Barry, Atchaco, do not underestimate The Trickster." Joe warns. Barry and Atchaco then zoom out of the lab and head over to city hall.

At City Hall, Iris was standing by herself when James walked up to her. "Well, hello. You know, I've been in prison for 20 years." James admits to her.

"Then you'll know the routine when you get sent back." Iris replies.

Suddenly, Barry and Macanese zoom in and the cyborg pins James up against the wall. "Where's Henry Allen?" Barry yelled.

"He's where you'll be soon. Heaven!" James chuckles as Axel comes from behind and puts cuffs on Barry and Macanese's wrists. "Are you familiar with the movie Speed? Keanu Reeves, Sandra Bullock? See, you both are the bus, and that's the bomb. A kinetic bomb, actually, and if you btoh go below 600 miles per hour, it'll explode. Same thing happens if you try to remove them." He turns to Macanese. "Or hack them." Axel then pushes the buttons on the cuffs. "Ooh, it's active. Run, run, run, run, run."

Barry and Macanese don't hesitate as they take off running side by side. "Cisco!" Macanese calls.

"He wasn't lying. That thing's linked to a speedometer, and it will blow if you both stop moving." Cisco told them.

"We can't run forever." Barry reminds him.

"There's gotta be a way to get it off him without damaging it." Caitlin said.

"Barry, Macanese, do you see any walls nearby?" Wells asked.

"Why?" Macanese questioned.

"Because I need you both to run into one. Or more accurately, through one." Wells answered.

"What?" Caitlin and Cisco say at the same time.

"If you both vibrate at the natural frequency of air, your bodies... your cells will be in a state of excitement that should allow you to phase right through that wall, leaving the bomb on the other side." Wells explains.

"Should?" Barry replies.

"You can both do this. I believe in you two." Wells encourages them.

"We can't." Macanese sighs.

"Listen to me, Barry and Macanese." He tells them. "Breathe. Breathe. Feel the air. Feel that wind on your faces. Feel the ground, your feet lifting you both up, pushing you forward, and the lightning... Barry and Macanese feel the lightning. Feel its power. Its electricity pumping through your veins, crackling through both of you, travelling to every nerve in your bodies, like a shock. You both are no longer you now. You both are part of something greater. You're part of a speed-force. It's yours. Now do it."

Barry and Macanese closed their eyes and opened them back up and grabbed each other's hands in the place the cuffs had been. They had listened to Wells, but instead of going through a wall, they went through a truck and their cuffs didn't go with them. By the time Barry and Macanese were on the other side of the truck, their cuffs exploded.

"Oh!" They said.

"Barry? Macanese?" Caitlin questioned.

"Oh, that felt weird." Macanese admitted as she panted, catching her breath.

"Oh. We're good." Barry replied, panting as well.

Back at City Hall, James and Axel were watching the money roll in. "Ooh, I like it." James smiled.

"Look at that." Axel grinned.

"Lobsters on me, kid." James said when suddenly, Barry and Macanese zoomed around everyone as they gave them the antidote before going up on stage with James and Axel.

"It's okay. You've all been given an antidote." Macanese reassured them.

"That wasn't very sanitary." James replied.

"Now where is Henry Allen? You're going to prison either way, James." Barry reminds him. James sighed, accepting his fate and told them where Henry was. Macanese nodded at him and took James and Axel to jail. Barry zoomed off to go and save his dad, who at the moment was sitting under a rock that had a bunch of knives inside of it. Just when the knives fell out of the box, Barry zoomed in and saved his father, then they both appeared standing outside.

"All right." Henry chuckles and they both laugh. Barry sighs and takes off his mask. "You always did look good in red." They both laugh as they hug each other.

Later, it is now morning and Barry has taken his father to see STAR Labs. "Wow. Half of this stuff didn't even exist when I was practising." Henry points out.

"Yeah, well, I'd be happy to give you a crash course on all of it if you get out. I'm gonna shut up now." Cisco smiles.

"It's okay." Henry chuckles.

"Dr. Allen?" Caitlin questions as she walks up to him.

"Yes?" He answers.

"I'm feeling the need to give you a hug." Caitlin admits.

"Absolutely. I will always accept a hug." Henry replies, and they quickly give each other a hug.

"If you are giving out hugs then here is another." Atchaco said as she hugs him too.

"Thank you." Henry tells her.

"No problem." Atchaco smiles.

Henry walks over to Barry who was standing in front of his suit. "Wow. You gotta tell me. What does it feel like when you're running down the street like a bat out of hell?" Henry said.

"There's no feeling like it." Barry admits.

"He's right, you know." Atchaco agreed.

"I bet." Henry said. "Actually, you're all heroes in my book, especially you, Dr. Wells. Thank you for everything that you've done for my son and for Atchaco."

"Well, your son is an extraordinary man and Atchaco is extraordinary in her own right as an alien, Dr. Allen, and I will do everything in my power to ensure Barry and Atchaco's future." Henry walks over and give Barry and big hug before letting go and walking over to Joe.

"It's time, Joe." Henry said.

"No." Joe shakes his head.

"No?" Henry wondered.

"No." Joe repeated as he pats Henry on the back.

"Okay." Henry smiles as he and Joe walk out of the lab.

As they leave Barry and Atchaco hug each other. "You seem like you could use a hug too." Atchaco admitted.

"Thanks." Barry replied. Atchaco kisses him on the cheek and walks out of the lab with Cisco and Caitlin.

"Your father is an extraordinary man. You're lucky to have him." Well informed him.

"I'm lucky to have you too." Barry replies. He smiles as he shakes Wells' hand but that smile drops when he turns away from Wells, who goes into another flashback.

Harrison climbs out of the wreckage of the car as Eobard calmly walks up to him. Eobard grabs Harrison and pulls him completely out of the car before pushing him a few feet away. "Who are you?" Harrison asked.

"My name is Eobard Thawne, but that name doesn't matter." Eobard answers. "Not anymore. It won't matter for many years. The only thing that really matters is who you are. Harrison Wells."

"What are you talking about? I don't understand." Harrison replies.

"In the year 2020, you and your wife, Tess Morgan, successfully launched a Particle Accelerator that changed the course of history. I need it to happen a bit sooner if I'm going to get back. Much sooner." Eobard admits as he takes out a device.

"What is that?" Harrison asks.

"My way home." Eobard stated as they heard police sirens approaching. "You see, they're not coming to save you. They're coming to save me." Eobard pulls two wires out of the device he was holding and stabs it into Harrison's chest. As soon as he sticks the other wire into his own chest, Harrison's face starts to lose life and Eobard's face starts to change. The process itself was disgusting but as soon as it was finished Harrison's body dropped dead onto the ground and Eobard now has the face of Harrison Wells, a new Harrison Wells.

Late at night, Eddie goes to meet Joe in Barry and Atchaco's lab. "Hey, Joe. Desk Sergeant said you were looking for me." Eddie said.

"Eddie, yeah. Uh…" Joe starts, pulling out a chair. "Sit down. It's about Iris." Eddie nods and sits down on the chair. "She's looking into Mason Bridge's disappearance. We can't let that happen." Then they felt a gust of wind and Eddie turned around to see The Flash and Thunder standing behind him.

"Detective." Barry greets him. Barry then takes off his mask and Macanese retracts the nanties on her face to show that it is Atchaco.

"Eddie, we need your help." Joe admitted and Barry and Macanese nod.

Later, Iris and Eddie are at Joe's house. "Brazil? Why... Why would Mason move to Brazil?" Iris asked.

"Apparently there was a girl involved, and he decided to go hike the Amazon with her for a year, you know, live off the grid, write his memoirs or something." Eddie answered.

"Wow. I guess you really don't know anyone." Iris sighed as Joe, Barry and Atchaco walked into the house.

"No, you don't." Eddie replied.

"Hey, baby, everything good?" Joe asked.

"Yeah, yeah." Iris told him. "Of course. Um, dinner will be ready in a jiff, okay?"

"Okay." Eddie said and Iris walks into the kitchen as Joe, Barry and Atchaco walked into the living room.

"She bought it?" Joe asked.

"I think so." Eddie replied.

"Keeping her in the dark, it's for her safety." Joe reminded him.

"That is debatable, and we will have that debate. But for right now, what's our next move? How do we figure out what Wells is up to?" Eddie questioned.

"When Wells was talking us through phasing so we could get the Trickster's bomb off our wrists, the way that he described ys being The Flash and Thunder, running, feeling the wind and the power, it's like he was talking from experience." Atchaco admits.

"What are you saying?" Joe asked.

"We don't know how... but he's the man in yellow. Harrison Wells is the Reverse-Flash." Barry told them.

Somewhere else, Wells is pulled back into a flashback. Two police officers arrive at a crash site. "I got an 11-80, possibly 10-54, County Road J, requesting immediate assistance." One said.

"Copy that. Units en route to your location." Dispatch told them as the female officer saw someone get out of the car.

"Sir, we're gonna get you out of here. Can you tell me your name? Do you know who you are?" She asked them.

"My name... is... Harrison Wells." He answered.
