"You remind me of the famous witch hunters, Hansel and Gretel." He watched her carefully.
"I do?" She faked a surprise.
"Yes...so pray tell, what will you do if you came across a witch or warlock?"
Her eyes scanned the area first before they rested on him again. A smirk appeared on her face as she gave a reply.
"I'd burn 'em to ashes milord."
...
Cries filled the air, cries of women, children and men who were caught up in the fire or who lost a loved one. It was a horrible and grievous night...many died.
A little girl lamented and wailed out loud for her mother, she had a terrible ghastly and painful burn at her left foot. No one answered her, no one paid heed to her.
Amidst the sorrowful weeping of people, four brothers where instructed by their parents to escape as fast as they could.
While running, one spotted the little girl and went to help her without minding his brothers continuous shout of disapproval.
"Hold on tight, make sure you don't let go!"
The boy instructed the girl and she nodded with teary face while tightening her hold round his neck so she wouldn't fall off his back. The five tried as much as they could to escape.
What happened that night left a deep scar.
But who would've thought that these young youths would grow up differently. No one...
They ruled over a small village, they became strong and shared an unbreakable bond...but will that bond last?
The little girl they took in as their sister turned out to be their most desired obsession...
Will the brothers despise each other?
Will their obsession ruin their bond?
I absolutely loved the synopsis. It's the first thing that decides for a reader if they should continue or not and I'm glad that I did continue. The plot is very descriptive. You can play the whole scene in your head. The characters are described so beautifully. I felt like I was sucked into the book. Marvellous writing skills and story telling.
First of all, I would like to compliment the writing style. the first chapter was a banger. It got me biting my lips and on edge for the inevitable confrontations. I won't give more spoilers but I love the plot and the world representation. The character traits of the individuals are slowly peeled off layer by layer. something very few authors can achieve. So far, the story is rocking. looking forward to more chapters.
Love the concept and the genuine care the characters have one another. Love how it reveals the cruel reality witches had to face and the boys who fear the hunters, yet still having an obligation to their mothers words. Quite intriguing, can't wait to see how this unfolds
I loved how the world is portrayed and how easily you could build a mental image of the scenes. A good novel I would say no less. Try it out.
Pretty good novel. Although the writing quality and grammar are pretty okay, the story development and world building is really good.
