74 - Battle at the Edge of Mitawas.

There was the divine energy that could regenerate thanks to Damas, the blue blood of Erizos. Then there was each Rulerune that could conserve energy within itself while also being efficiently tempered to increase in size and rank.

What did this mean? If a divine from Erizos camp met a god outside and both fought. The God could use their divinity to battle, fueling spells and others. While for the divine in Erizos camp, he or she could simply stick to activating their Rulerune. If it depleted then they switched back to using their actual divinity which in itself could still regenerate if the battle was drawn out longer.

This was something that others gods didn't have or couldn't do. Erizos just hadn't created a cheat blood, he also created a cheat system by forming the Rulerunes.

Why was this important? The gods could not regenerate their divinity. Any unit lost in combat was gone for good. Only gotten from reverence leeched from mortals. Yet camp Erizos could use regeneration.

The gods didn't have such Rulerunes or didn't think of it. Of course, gods also had their lifesaving artifacts or whatnot but the Rulerunes was a concept they had not thought of.

With these two things, Erizos had made his multiverse divines overpowered as long as they got stronger faster.

All of this was the very reason why the Azkolves and even Velces were shocked when the noted slight appearance of a rune around Dumdriels outstretched claws forming a circle with the rune of a hill tip and a wierd letter within it.

The rune rotated clockwise as it tried expanding but failed yet no one had that in mind as they looked impressed.

"Big bro already completed the Earth rulerune engraving in his seat of consciousness. As expected". Syrin was the one to comment on this while the rest nodded.

" He's even capable of creating its halo outside his body as the All-father did. Impressive." Geral observed.

"Are you comparing him to the All-father? "Tepes asked a Flint in his eyes as he started at Geral who almost choked licking his maws consciously.

" Of course not just saying he's good. " Gerald looked away stiffly.

"Still it is weak but when creating its outward presence is mighty enough a feat. I could barely do that" Tarin muttered. The rest nodded as well while Velces just watched his eyes gleaming in respect.

Meanwhile, as they talked several rocks and boulders at first formed from the rulerune, then joined up together. it all happened for a while before the rulerune brightened and a large slab just like the one they all stood on manifested itself.

'Using the Rulerune is faster for all spells but harder to master' Dumdriel thought as he observed the long and wide slab that was just if not larger than the original one they all stood on.

Without hesitation, he rushed forward dropping to all fours as he entered a sprint, and then quickly dashed to the slab while he mentally moved it forward and away.

"Everyone, follow" Syrin's soft voice sounded out before she too pounced forward the other Azkolves hot on her heels. Ausal seemed to be the fastest as she quickly caught up to the white-furred Azkolve and ran side by side with her.

On reaching closer they watched as Dumdriel leaped atop the earth slab and then stood watching as they too came onboard.

Behind the Heralds came as well some running and others flapping their wings in flight as they dashed across the Slab of the earth to join the rest atop the other slab.

Velces landed right next to Dumdriel all smiles as he watched the Heralds reach and leap or fly onto the already speeding slab.

Slowly they all watched as the slab moved farther from the other and the pagoda leaving it behind. Yet they felt chills in their bones even Velces who was literally on fire, as everyone noted how they could not spot the tip or the bottom of the Pagoda.

They passed by several veins of Atlas Halo traveling in different directions and connecting to several galaxies until finally, they reached the very end of the Mitawas region.

Fortunately, the energy from Duztros evolution had only gotten this far if not the anti-life could have already gotten to it.

Here the Heralds spotted the large horde of anti-life fragments moving toward them. Only now did they realize why Dumdriel created an earth platform for them. Most had been wondering why when they all could fly. Even the Azkolves could use their divine energy to fly without hiccups.

Now they realized that fighting would need some time on the ground to rest if possible.

The next reason came to light once Dumdriel nodded to Syrin and she in turn shouted.

"Heralds, move forward. "

They all stepped past without question to obey the order. The Kyratks could be seen obviously hyped at the upcoming fight. Their warlord trait already acting up.

"Prepare yourselves, Heralds. This won't be easy. Watch your backs and kill as many as possible." Syrin commanded while looking around at every one of them.

"We'll act when you need us to". Her words were effective and meaningful. To the Heralds she just showed that they were trusted enough to handle the surging horde. Also that they weren't alone, if they needed to help them they would act. But show your might.

At least that was what they understood. Syrin though and the others didn't know these thoughts. All they saw was an opportunity to give the Heralds real battle experience while under their protection.

Velces could feel his fingers itching to join but a shake of the head from Dumdriel made him hold back.

" You'll have your turn God Velces. For now, we need the all-fathers heralds to grow in battle strength. If you may be patient. They won't be able to finish them all off" Syrin was the one who moved to explain things to him.

The Sun God while he hadn't needed an explanation since he respected the eight still nodded with understanding at the explanation. Then he turned his eyes to watch as the Heralds pulled out their Blades of Ankar and got ready.

Remembering the details of those swords he couldn't help but sigh. Unless those anti-life were immensely powerful they'd only die. After all the Heralds were barely spread out.

The Heralds all locked their feet braced for the attack, most already their wings keeping them afloat while some stood won't he ground.

Yiris and Helma the unofficial leaders of both sides stood more forward waiting for the opportune time. Yet Yiris, his Warlord trait almost making him lose his patience had him shouting. It was a language that he and the other Heralds knew. One crafted by the system for them and just them, though the other beings could speak it too.

"IMZTA(1)"

"Imzta"

"Imzta"

The shout went up everywhere as the Heralds charged out while Helma mentally sighed as she ran a few meters apart from the Devil at her left. As they drew closer the features of the anti-life became even clearer to them.

Shivers of disgust something they were feeling for the first time poured through them. Yet they ignored it as the space between what was yet another battle between life and anti-life closed. Here at the very edge of Mitawas, Erizos's Devils and Archangels fought side by side and back to back with an unrelenting spirit.

Starfire and Osvildas appeared, flaring up the swords of all forty Heralds as they dived into the horde. At the moment it took for the first screech to depart from the first slain fragment over a hundred of them had burned to nothing.

It was in this mess that the various counter of the Heralds mission prompt began reading.

The increment wasn't slow nor was it fast but it happened. Up till the moment where Duke found himself locked in a duel against a colossal and its little minions that kept blocking the path to its end.
