Killing the last minion had already completed his quota of kills yet it wasn't what had Duke frustrated as he kept slicing through the minions and evading the collosal's grasp.

He needed to calm down to choose as he didn't know which was better. Each of the Rulerune listed in the rewards were important no doubt. Yet he wondered which to pick.

Engraving a Rulerune came with merits and demerits. The merits while already known did nothing to quench the demerits. one being lesser affinity with the other Rulerunes.

It was like picking one as a favourite and trying to use another. While it wouldn't mind the rulerune wouldn't let your use be as proficient. Which led to his situation now.

Listening and half reading the information of the rewards provided by the system he couldn't help but frown.

"This is really bothersome." Duke reasoned. Dashing front as he eyed the options the blade of Ankar cut through a fragment minion. The husk burned to nothing just in time to reveal the arms grasping for him.The collosal swept at him it's grasp close. It had obviously attacked right when he came close enough.

Yet Duke smirked as he swiftly leaped back and rolled away from reach. As he bounced back up ready to act darkness consumed him.

Confused he looked around noting the blackness around him. His wings unfurled from his body and flapped white flames with traces of divinity aiding to keep him aloft in the windless environment of space. There was nothing just black outside the glow of light his wings and sword made.

Pushing more fire into the sword and his eyes to increase the blaze of both he made his surroundings even more clearer.

"I'm in a mouth". Realization struck him as he noted the h

jagged fangs of black material that was neither flesh not meat.

With the confirmation. Duke spun the sword, its tip pointing down and stabbed. Without waiting he pushed the fire down and watched it spread along the mouth of the creature with sizzles as it's screeches bombarded him.

He was almost relieved thinking he had succeeded when an uncanny scene graced his sight. From the side a bright white and golden flare of fire rushed destroying everything in it's part. By the time it got to his area of flames it consumed everything a d swallowed him

In an instant he saw the outside again and fortunately the fire hadn't burned a well silver on his skin. But the outside was different once he looked around.

He watched as a hammer left his side it's head aflame in the same white and gold fire. He didn't need to be told that was what had one spotted whatever ate him as it shot away and into a young males hands.

Duke watched stunned as the male swung at the collosal without hesitation. Yet the hammer flew out of his grasp leaving a trail of white and gold line as it hit the thing right in the chest.

The fire erupted from there and consumed the once annoying abomination that had been a nuisance to him. The flames so hot that it even spread on to grasp it's minions sparing no one.

Around him he watched as he noted that the Azkolves had finally plunged into the fight and it was glorious. Light beams rained down into the horde, rocks and pikes impaling several in a row. Water geysers and blades as well as wind whips and blades flew about.

He saw some parts of the field behave weirdly in manners he couldn't fathom and cracks in other areas appearing in the air.

He watched the eight show their might as the wielded each their own element to raze the horde in all directions.

" Are you okay. Duke?" A voice sounded next to him, a him of worry could be detected in the familiar voice.

Turning he sighted another Kershini, a male called Onris. His eyes lit by the Starfire glanced over Duke in apparent worry. He was one of the few that Duke had gotten more closer with amongst the entire Kershini race.

"I'm fine, just shaken." Duke assured casting a smile.

"Good. I feared for your safety Leromta(1)" Onris looked to his left where Velces hovered flames spewing all around him like a storm.

"Which will you choose?" Duke blurted absentmindedly. It was obvious he was seeking a second opinion for his own choice without realizing. Onris remained silent proving that he had also completed his mission. Finally he shrugged.

"Whatever it be. I'm sure the All-father will grants us strength which won't be shyer than the rest. It is up to us to use it well. We get only this one Divine rune after all" his words straight to the point and impactful made Duke realize. It didn't matter which element he chose. He would always be strong.Ehat mattered was how well he mastered and trained to use it.

'KA DRA'IS ABN ÊIKE. (For the honor of the All-father.)'The statement rang in his mind in the Tongue of Erlezoian.

'Then, I choose you' his gaze settled on one of the options.

'Yes'.

Within his seat of consciousness an elaborate rulerune began manifesting almost like an invisible finger drawing it clearly there. The flames within Duke's eyes dimmed as Starfire sucked inwards to his head and formed the rulerune slowly.

But instead of storing starfire within surprisingly it began to be filled by little motes of golden flame tongues. Each tongue separated themselves form his Starfire and filled inch by inch into the Rulerune being engraved.

The broken triangle within a circle fluttered with the white fire that served as it's vessel as it got bold and thick once complete.

[Divine Fire Rulerune Engraved]

The rulerune glowed gold with white boundaries in the misty plain of Duke's seat of consciousness.

He felt a string of information flood his brain. From knowledge to details and insights. His eyes widened in shock at the things he was learning and seeing yet it was also due to how fast and easy the entire process was.

After all Heralds couldn't actively create their Rulerune in their seat of consciousness... yet. This was why the system had offered it to them as a reward and done the task of engraving.

"This is good" Duke praised as he used the little fire he could make with his now weak Starfire power. Pushing inward he led it to the rule rune connecting like a string into a needle's eye.

The rulerune flared up like a burning beast once touched and sent wisps of flames through the connection.

The flames brightened in his eyes and then as he imagined a sword of pure white flames forged out of his palms and hovered next to him and Onris.

"I see you chose Leromta. ABN ÊIKE Ü OÙRES (All-father guide you)" Onris nodded before turning away after a quick observation of the fire sword.

"Come our siblings need our help." he urged before his wings unfurled in a silvery sheen reflecting the light given off by Dukes flame sword and then with a flap he was gone.

"We'll see later. " Duke cooed like a lover to his fire sword which reduced before turning into a flame ball in his hand.

"I'll do my best to help All-father" he swore before tossing the fireball into a group of approaching fragments. The explosion of flames within the group had the fragments screeching even before Duke dashed forward sword raised. Flickering brightly on the Velcenite steel was the white Starfire, yet at moments the flames flickered with a strand of blue, red or gold.
