THE ESCAPE

Things were going well for Vivian and slowly her guilt was fading away. She didn't feel bad or sorry for the poor girl anymore, once Ella leaves the house she would pack her things and just go to Andrew's.

The duo continue to eat their meal with different things on their minds. Ella was thinking of what will happen when she gets to Abdullah's house, it will remind her more of her dead parents and again increase the pain in her heart. Vivian on the other hand, was thinking of how fast she has to make the move before Ella returns.

After eating, Vivian went straight to her room which was unusual, but Ella didn't ask her what was wrong because she thought her dear aunt might be tired and stressed. Young Miss Smith clears the table and did the dishes but was still thinking and imagining what The Visit to Abdullah's house would look like.

Vivian shuts the door and wilted wearily on it breathing heavily. She stood there for some moments and rush to her bed, then buries her head in her palms. "I hope it all goes well." She whispers then picks up her phone to text Andrew. 'She would be going to her friend's house tomorrow, I will use that opportunity to pack my things and comes over.' She drops her phone after the text and takes a quick look round the room, she was definitely going to miss the place.

***********

The next morning came, Ella had a peaceful night but Vivian didn't. She didn't even close her eyes to sleep all through, she was busy thinking and planning on how to do everything she has to do before Ella returns.

As soon as she steps out of her room to the sitting room to check what Ella was doing, something came to her mind, What if Andrew was still working with Jessie? What if all he was trying to do was just to get her away from Ella so he could send someone to kill her afterwards? Or what if he never loves her and he just wants to kill her too?

There she stood like someone with a soul, staring into nothing, the attitude caught Ella and she taps her.

"What are you thinking of?" Ella asks as she taps her.

"Oh- I-I am-think-thinking of nothing actually." Vivian stutters as she was called back to reality.

"What is going on? You have been acting strange since yesterday, is everything okay with you?"

Did she notice I am planning on leaving her? Is she suspecting me now? Vivian asks herself before answering the question before her. "I am okay, I was just thinking of something related to work." She smiles at her. "What are you doing?"

"Nothing, I was about to ask what you will like to eat this morning."

"Just make some toast, I don't want to stress you." Vivian smiles. The truth is, she didn't even want to eat but she had to pretend to avoid her being suspicious.

"Alright." Ella says and exits the sitting room heading to the kitchen.

Vivian's chest beat very fast, she checks the time and it was still very early. It is barely past 8, going to see Abdullah would still take a little time. She was starting to doubt if she would have enough time to do everything she wanted to.

Ella made the toast and they had it with pineapple juice. The toast was a very nice one, Even Vivian could admit that.

Time passed, and Ella was set to go visit her friend even though she didn't really want to but her aunt insists. "I will get going now." She says to her aunt as she Carries a small clutch bag. In the bag was just her cellphone, her keys and some cash.

"Alright, have fun and make sure you spend a lot of time with him."

"Why do you keep insisting I spend a lot of time with him?"

The question got her a little scared and worried. "Nothing at all, I just want you to get to know him well." Vivian ends her answer with a fake smile.

"Okay, I will see you later." Ella says and leaves the house.

Immediately she steps out, Vivian peeps through the window to ensure that she really left. As soon as she confirms it, she calls her partner. "Hello Andrew."

"Yes?"

"She just left."

"Really?" Andrew asks excitedly. "Start packing your important belongings i will join you in the next few minutes."

"Alright, I will be expecting you. Please don't stay long." She says and ends the call.

The first thing she did was to write a note to Ella, after that she pulls out an envelope that had some documents in it. She placed the envelope and the note on Ella's bed. Those documents are assets, they worth billions. Even though she had lost her father's hospital, Ella was still rich, very rich.

After Vivian had helped her with the selling of all the properties they owned in Nigeria, the money was still converted to assets there in Burundi. Apart from the assets, she still have more than enough money for her to spend in her lifetime.

Her parents had created an account for her when she was barely a month, they saved up a lot of money on there for her, and only her has the access to the account.

Vivian rushed to pack some her things, although Andrew told her to pack the important ones but she decided to take all of her belongings. They weren't that much anyways, she wasn't a fan of so many clothes and accessories.

Close to an hour, she had packed her things into three big boxes and Andrew arrives just in time.

"Hey babe." Andrew whispers as he steps in.

"I am done with the packing."

"Really?"

"Yes." Vivian nods.

"That's good, we should move them to my car and leave."

"What about my car? Do you suggest I leave it here?"

"Yes." Andrew nods. "It's not as if we can take it wherever we are going."

They hurriedly move the boxes to his car and Vivian locks the doors. Before driving out, she looks round the building and says to herself. "I guess it is what it is, I am so sorry Ella."
