Normally people who had never experienced such phenomena before would react slowly and might even faint but the beggar had been on edge and couldn't shake the feeling that something was going to happen to him
So when the woman screamed he knew it wasn't a good thing, in his heart it was run first before looking back .
But unfortunately for him another portal opened towards the direction he tried to run to and another creature poked its head out.
As if the two creatures had received some kind of command they immediately stretched their long necks and grabbed both sides of the man's body with their sharp teeth and right in front of everyone's eyes the beggar was torn in two and eaten by the creatures
If the people around weren't shocked enough by the sudden appearance of a weird gap in the air and two monsters then seeing the man slowly torn in two and being eaten was enough to send panic around
With the screams of the beggar the place immediately set a panic wave to everyone who saw what just happened as for the woman and her child they were too terrified to move most especially when the beggar's blood splashed on them
The woman couldn't move because her entire body was covered with blood and fear filled her up while her child kept crying as he was hugged
"Master...."
No one had any courage to go closer to help those two
"Master..."
When those two had finished eating the beggar that was when their attention turned to the woman whose child was crying
"Master ..."
Kadesh and Joram who happened to see this entire event played right in front of them quickly got down from their carriage and tried to call out to the woman, but the woman was too shaken to move
but when it felt like it was too late since the closest creature already opened its mouth which was just above the woman's head and was about to snap her head off
A small voice from behind immediately shouted for it to stop
Although all this happened in a minute or two but no one believed a word like stop would hold back such monsters but to their greatest surprise the monsters immediately stopped or better still they froze
They indeed looked like they were frozen in place but their eyes were still moving and they were as confused as the humans as well, as to why they suddenly halted in front of a food
It was at this moment Asahel recovered from her rage, although Fairy had been calling out to her for a while now it wasn't enough to pull her back only until she saw those two were about to get eaten did she realised that she had gone too far
As soon as she shouted stop and the creatures froze all eyes fell on her
"Dam'it Fairy why did you not stop me"
As soon as she said that she immediately rushed into the inn
As for the crowd who had now suddenly gathered, they were surprised by how these creatures were frozen in place but some soon came to their senses and quickly pulled the mother and child from beneath one of the monsters jaw
As for Kadesh's and Joram they had ugly expressions on their faces but before they could run towards the culprit the weird portal thing closed cutting off the heads of the two creatures.
Soon blood spread everywhere as the two heads of the creatures dropped to the ground with a loud thud
This surprised them but they quickly recovered and went after Asahel
A tiny voice in Joram's mind spoke to him and told him to stay far from Asahel but Joram frowned
Asahel's little things had already been packed and kept by the front desk attendant since Asahel didn't want to move to Kadesh's home she left her stuff back at the inn.
So she quickly took out a locker key and took her stuff then she ran up the stairs and barged into a room were a couple were making out and she was about to jump through the window when Kadesh and Joram met up with her
"Wait.... don't.....go".
Kadesh was out of breath when he finally arrived though the distance from the inn's entrance to this place wasn't far running on stairs wasn't his thing
Kadesh looked at Asahel who was about to jump out of the window
he didn't know if Asahel was really responsible for what just happened but to her previous action of stopping the monsters he hoped to hear everything from her
'maybe she was one of those who was gifted and sort to help when those monsters were about to eat that woman'
At least that was what he thought but still the beggar that died was making him think another thing
Asahel who was in the window frame looked at Kadesh and Joram who both had complicated expressions written on their faces.....but no trace of hate or disgust showed in their emotions
Before Kadesh could continue his words she spoke up first
"Everything was me.....so better not provoke me" with that she jumped off the window and ran off
Kadesh and Joram walked to the window totally ignoring the couple on the bed and looked out to see Asahel but since she had a small frame she was immediately lost in the crowd
Kadesh and Joram already had a bad feeling but it became worst when Asahel said those words
Joram was more concerned though
