Mr. Chan pushed the guards to the side like kids holding onto his leg. That's when Jiang's dad looked down and saw Mr. Chan's tattoo.
His eyes grew wide his voice sounded shakey as he removed the knuckle busters, "dad, what are you doing?"
Jiang's dad ordered the guards to let go of Mr. Chan, "it's you. You are out," his voice was shaky as he stepped back, tripping over the principal.
He stuttered, "it's the, it's the," he is not allowed to mention the name he remembers, "please excuse us. I never realized it was you."
Mr. Chan pulled up his jacket by stretching his arms, not saying a word. He walked up to Jiang's dad, who was on the floor, "please, I beg you, spare us."
I was able to see the dragon tattoo under his short black hair. I sat back, wondering who he was. Mr. Chan glanced at Lei, took a deep breath, and then looked over at Jiang, whose face was severely beaten.
He then looked at Mia coldly as if he knew she had done this, "get out of my class," he said in an angry tone.
Jiang was about to follow his father out of the class. Mr. Chan turned around, "you all go to your seat."
Jiang was unsure if he was coming or going, but the pale look on his face said that he feared for his life at that moment. He had never seen his dad this scared.
After the men had left, Mr. Chan removed his coat jacket and started writing on the board as if nothing had happened.
Everyone sat in silence. The principal had gained consciousness and crawled his way out of the classroom. Maka and Mia kept glancing at each other Lei's mind was elsewhere.
He didn't seem like he cared about what had just happened. Mr. Chan, who are you? I kept wondering, and the bell rang.
As we went to our next class, Maka made sure to be there first by sitting in her seat. Mia stayed with me this whole time.
When arriving at class, Maka seemed annoyed. The seats were taken, and Mia stood in front of the teacher.
She had taken the seat opposite his desk and sat in front of the class. Mia didn't seem to mind where she sat.
"Jiang, what happened to your face?"
"Nothing Sir," the class had started to laugh.
There were talks amongst them about Jiang being beaten up by a girl.
The school bell went off as I stood up from the chair. Mia walked up to me, glancing at Maka, "shall we go?"
I left the classroom and saw Mr. Chan at the end of the hallway, casually smoking a cigarette.
I walked past him and looked closer at his tattoo as I passed. The tattoo was a bear with its mouth open. He had a ring on his finger, a silver ring with a purple stone, not too small nor too big.
I glanced at Mia, who took my hand. The kids around us started looking at us. We walked over to a nearby tree near the school's exit; we sat down under the tree, "So, Mia, do you want to hold my hand?" she smiled.
Her radiant smile lit up her entire face with warmth and joy, "I was waiting for you to ask."
She took my hand, placing it on her chest, staring at me. I could feel her strong heartbeat, "thats for you."
"Do you mind us sitting here with you?"
I pulled my hand away and looked up. It was Maka and Lei.
Mia looked up at Maka, "sure, sit down," Mia moved closer to me.
"So, what are you guys talking about?"
Lei looked at me and broke eye contact when I glanced up, "nothing, just Mr. Chan."
"I picked up something about him, he is different from other teachers, and he must be well-known if you saw the expression on Jiang's dad's face." This was the most Maka had spoken.
"So, are you guys now a couple?"
Mia nodded, "but thats against the rules. You guys aren't allowed to date."
Mia smiled, "we are allowed to.
I mean, since he can't feed on you, you can't feed on him."
"So he told you?"
"He said nothing. I saw everything, you pushed him against the wall and almost drank asset.
His blood is poison to you. Want to know why?" Mia smiled.
Maka never replied. Instead, she looked at Lei and answered, "why?"
"Cause he drank on me. He can't drink on anyone else."
Mr. Chan walked up to us with his hands in his pocket, smoking, "the pack of four."
He dragged his cigarette.
Mia squeezed my hand, "I was waiting to bump into you, and here you are sitting together under one tree.
I glanced up, "Kai, I've heard a lot about you."
Mia jumped to my defense, "would you mind getting to your point."
Mr. Chan killed the cigarette he was smoking, trapping it to the ground. He looked like a nervous wreck on a train ride. He lit another one, "young lady, I would say, control your tone and how you dress me."
I bit my tongue. Maka smirked, "as I was saying before being rudely interrupted by Mia,"
I couldn't stand it, "get to your point," I said.
Maka's eyes grew wide. Mr. Chan leaned over and grabbed me by the chest.
Mia tried breaking loose the grip. He pushed Mia. I stood up as the crowd of kids gathered around, "that's enough," said Maka.
"I will determine when it is enough."
I looked at him as I felt anger within me. My yellow stone lighted as he then saw the pendant. He let go of me, and his eyes grew wide.
I was angry and wanted to rip him apart for putting his hand on Mia.
Jiang stepped closer, "Kai, calm down," Maka and Mia insisted.
I clenched my fist. Mr. Chan saw my tattoo and stepped back as if he had immediately recognized who I was.
He looked around, and that's when he noticed I was not the only one.
"No, this can't be." he stepped back, almost tripping, "it's not possible."
He looked at his hand, which he grabbed me with. It was turning black, I stepped forward, and he dared to touch Mia. Lei stood in between as I effortlessly pushed him to the ground.
Mia leaned over, whispering in my ear, "everyone is watching. Please don't do anything. You will expose us."
Maka took my right hand.
I felt her tightening her hand over mine, "please don't do this. I could control my anger. The yellow stone helped me do this, but this time, the Yellow stone could not stop me.
Maka turned to Mr. Chan, her eyes wide, "run as fast as you can."
Mr. Chan turned and ran. The further he was away, the calmer I became. My heart was racing, and my blood was boiling.
I was ready to kill him. Had it not been for Maka, Mr. Chan would be dead. The bell went off. The kids were relieved Mr. Chan had left the school. Everyone left except for Jiang and his friends, looking down at Lei.
Lei stood up. Jiang took a tissue from his pocket, handing it to Lei, "your nose is all bloody."
Lei wiped his nose, looking at me.
Mia seemed pissed off at Maka. She was annoyed that Maka had squeezed my hand and was the one to stop me. Mia stood by my side, looking at Maka, and placed her hand in mine, "enough of this, clowns, let's go to class," I threw my backpack over my shoulder and walked to class.
Throughout the day, we were not talking to each other. Lei was mad at me for throwing him to the ground, and Maka and Mia were mad at each other.
I was pissed off at Mr. Chan, and Mia admired that I was so protective over her, and Maka hated it.
Today has been a long day, but I felt the need to come back and write something down in this journal before retiring for the night.
I thought this place was creepy during the daytime, but that is worth little compared to how eerie the nights are. Everything outside was pitch black, with no moon to break through the dark void. I lay next to Mia.
We haven't touched or kissed; she was my protector, but I felt I was protecting her right now. Maka lies in silence, staring up at the roof.
Even though she had been spending alot of time with Lei, the feeling of love was never there. He was more of her escape from reality. Maka kept on thinking about what had happened today.
Who was this mysterious Mr. Chan, the look he had, was a look that she could tell he was going to come back, and they had started something.
