Translation quality: too literal. Translating Chinese to English is an art form, and this novel is the artistic equivalent to children scribbling on walls. 2/5, but only because there aren’t many typos. The prose is incredibly difficult to follow. Updating stability: fits and starts. Sometimes one chapter will be released, other times they’ll dump five at once. 2/5. Story development: incomprehensible. For a quest system, there aren’t many quests at all. And the lacking translation quality really hits hard here, because things happen and characters talk about those things happening, yet none of them actually happen in the chapter. If that sentence confused you, welcome to my world; most of this novel was as confusing to me as that sentence was to you. Basically, it seems like the author cut content from every chapter without bothering to stitch the ragged edges back together. 1/5, and I would rate this lower if I could. Character design: horrible. The characters have all the personality of soggy cardboard and, again, the overly literal translation doesn’t help things at all. 1/5, and I would rate this lower if I could. World background: nonexistent. This is set in modern-day corporate China, with all the things that that setting entails. There’s nothing new here, but there’s also nothing much of what you’d expect to be there, given the setting. 1/5 and I would light this novel on fire if it was in paper form. Overall: avoid this dumpster fire at all costs. I wish I had.
