Their Decision

They stood there for a while with their heads down, thinking about everything I just said. They eventually looked up at me, then at each other then back at me.

"W-We need t-to discuss this with the rest of our nation f-first, so we'll head back and c-come back later, o-okay?" The futa stag asked.

"Hmm... you're not going back to get reinforcements, are you?" I questioned threateningly. They flinch in response, clearly thinking of doing exactly that.

"Hmph, even if you did get reinforcements, it wouldn't end well for your people anyways." I told them, knowing they knew the same.

"W-We n-need to... to..." The male staggered, fumbling his words as he clearly didn't know what to say or how to respond.

"Mmmm...." I stared at them for a while, my eyes squinted, as they stared back at me, their own eyes trembling and the bodies sweating in fear.

This 'stalemate' went on for a while until eventually, something could be heard rustling through the foliage. Looking over in that direction, I realised that it was just Traytora making her way back over to me.

Turning back to the two stags, I said, "Don't attack, that's her, the one I told you about, okay?" They nodded repeatedly in response.

And soon enough Traytora came out from the shade of the trees and into the clearing, flinching when she saw the two stags. I comforted her by saying, "Don't worry, they're no real threat to us, they don't seem to have magic, nor do their weapons seem to be of good quality, so you don't have to worry about them posing a threat. Oh, that loud boom earlier was me punching their arrow into oblivion by the way."

She blinked at me a few times before nodding and coming to my side, still clearly a little worried.

Looking back to the two stags once again I said, "So, what are you going to do now?"

(Traytora POV)

After making my way through the forest and back to Dorrak, I notice two stags standing before him, one male, one futa. I flinched immediately when I noticed them, had they come for their fellow soldier that I ate, or some other reason? That's when Dorrak told me that it would be okay as we severely outclassed them in terms of both, might and magic. He also explained that he was the one who caused that loud booming noise earlier by apparently removing an arrow from existence with just his fist.

I'm getting side tracked. I moved to his side and looked at the two stags nervously, before hearing Dorrak ask, "So, what are you going to do now?"

A better question would be, 'What are WE going to do now?' but I don't want to do anything right now to make the situation worse. The two stags just stood there not knowing what to do or say, and they just stayed quiet for a long while.

Sometime later they managed to come to a consensus with each other on what to do.

"One of us will stay with the two of you whilst the other goes back and informs the council of the situation here, is that okay with you?" The male one asks us.

Dorrak and I look at each other, he raises an eyebrow and I just shrug and he just nods so we both turn back to the two 'hostages?' before us.

"We accept your proposal, as for who stays, hmm... Whichever one of you is more important stays, that sound fair to you?" Dorrak asks them.

"That's good, as for which of us stays, it doesn't matter as we are both of equal importance to our nation, so it's up to you two to decide." The male one replies.

"Eh, up to you then, which one do you want to stay?" Dorrak asks dismissively to me.

"Hmm..." Looking at both of them I ponder which one would be best as a hostage... Wait, isn't this more about which one I'd rather have around? And since it doesn't matter which one is chosen, I'll go with the one I would prefer to have around.'

After deliberating which one I'd rather have stay as a hostage I pointed at the futa stag, indicating that I wanted that one to stay.

Gripping her fist and the sword in her left hand as she closed her eyes in resignation before sighing, knowing that she had no choice in the matter.

"Well, I guess I'm staying, see you soon I guess?" She said towards her companion.

"Don't worry sister, I'll make sure to deal with this as soon as I possibly can, but until then, hold out, okay?" The now apparent 'brother' said to his 'sister' as they both shed tears at one another, before the male one trotted of swiftly, likely wanting to get back as soon as he could so that his sister wouldn't suffer. Oh well~ not like I care~

A few hours later, as the sun was setting in the horizon, we made camp in the clearing and made a fire. With the fire crackling in the middle and the three of us just resting around it, going over the events of the day in silence.

"Soo... Why me?" The futa stag asked. I blinked, not knowing how to respond to that, and she seemed to be expecting an answer.

"Ah, right, something I think I forgot to mention was that she is mute, due to all the screaming she did... I think anyways." Dorrak said to clear some of the stag's confusion.

"Oh... Wait, how do you know her name then? Do you both know sign language or something or what?" She asked. I looked at Dorrak and he just gestured towards her, signalling that I should just show her to explain my situation faster than he could himself.

Drawing my fire mana into the air, I wrote out my sentence, 'I use mana to form words like so.'

"E-EH?!?" She cried out in surprise, "M-Magic? A-As a way of talking?"

She seemed surprised, I just nodded back at her to confirm what she just said.

"U-Uh, Uhh, Umm..." She fumbled her words repeatedly.

"What's so mind boggling about that?" Dorrak asked.

"W-Well, i-it's just that we have a prophecy that a magic user that can create words with magic would come and save us from a grave threat that would appear soon after they are found." She said as she poked at her own fingers while looking down and flustered.

I squinted my eyes in scrutiny at what she had just said, because surely there was no way that I would be that very person right?

...

Right?

...

Gods I hope not.

"A-Anyways, I never that answer as to why I was chosen over my brother, soo..." She asked again whilst looking back up at me, still flushed from her earlier embarrassment.

I answered by giving her a smirk and conjured the words that said, 'Because, you're my type.'

And as she read those words she blushed even more, turning her face into a tomato. To add oil into the fire I then changed the sentence to, 'And I have no plans on stopping tonight.'

All as I smirked even more as she hid her hands in her face, not likely expecting such an answer, nor would she be prepared for tonight.
