Grabbing the family

Several weeks had come and gone since the war's conclusion, yet the wounds it had inflicted upon the Muslim community of Girifalco still festered. The conflict might not have directly touched their peaceful town, but the pain ran deep within their hearts. Many of their loved ones had left for the battlefield, filled with hope and loyalty to their king, only to never return. The financial compensation offered for their sacrifice felt like a meager consolation to the families who had lost a part of themselves.

The once-vibrant streets of Girifalco now carried a somber atmosphere. Homes that had once echoed with laughter and chatter were now filled with a palpable silence. The absence of husbands, fathers, sons, and brothers left a void that could never be truly filled.
