Chapter 529: Gods and Primeval Beings Fallen Before Dawn

After failing to successfully seal the World Devourer and allowing this Primeval God to escape the Prime Material Plane, Garon experienced his first setback.

Having expended a significant amount of energy during the fierce engagement, Garon returned to the Dragon Court and coiled up in the Eternal Heroic Spirit Hall.

"Garon, hey, how did you get a new pair of dragon wings?"

After some time, Yuna returned to the Dragon Court.

Upon seeing the radiant and resplendent Sun Wings on the silver dragon, her eyes lit up with curiosity, and she eagerly approached Garon to ask.

At that moment, the silver dragon, adorned with the Crown of Heroes, had his eyes half-closed. Around him swirled an ocean-like tangible life energy, mingling with the intangible forces of time, continuously flowing into his body, providing a deep sense of comfort.

Upon hearing his mate's question, Garon opened his eyes and replied, "The God of Light temporarily lent me the Sun Dominion. These wings are formed by the Sun Dominion. What do you think?"

Yuna reached out with her dragon claw to touch Garon's Sun Wings, feeling the warm temperature radiating from the magnificent wings.

"They feel so warm and comfortable to the touch, and they look beautiful."

In dragon aesthetics, the color, length, thickness, and curvature of wings are crucial elements.

Garon's new Sun Wings, perpetually radiating solar brilliance, were high-end and opulent, perfectly fitting the draconic aesthetic. Yuna couldn't get enough of them, rubbing against the Sun Wings affectionately and even giving them a playful lick.

Then, Yuna let go of Garon's wings, blinked, and pounced on him.

"Garon, you look too good. Let's make some babies!"

Overcome by the allure of the radiant Sun Wings, Yuna expressed her desire plainly, driven by her attraction to the majestic, glowing form of the silver dragon.

Garon, eager to fulfill his mate's wishes, didn't hesitate.

The dragon's lair rumbled and quaked for a considerable time before finally coming to a stop.

Yuna, now basking in post-battle and post-play exhaustion, lay lazily next to the silver dragon. She stroked his sinewy back and said, "I wonder when this war will end. I want to go play in the Prime Material Plane."

Garon's gaze remained steady as he replied, "It won't last much longer."

"When it's over, I'll accompany you on a trip to the Prime Material Plane."

With the fierce battles ongoing, intelligent beings in the Prime Material Worlds lived in constant fear, and the vibrant and exciting nature of life had been overshadowed by a pervasive sense of dread. There would be little joy in traveling during such times.

Yuna nodded, then seemed to remember something and asked Garon, "How many Primeval Gods have you dealt with?"

Garon turned to meet Yuna's pale purple eyes, which held a hint of competitive spirit, and modestly said, "Not many. I haven't performed exceptionally well. I've sealed a total of six Primeval Gods."

"If we exclude the two I sealed before our competition, there are only four left."

"Only four," the silver dragon feigned modesty, but the pride was clear in his voice. Yuna, her tail flicking in mild annoyance, bit Garon's wing lightly and grumbled, "I've only killed two Primeval Gods, and I got lucky with one of them. How do you do it so quickly?"

Unlike Garon, who preferred sealing his foes as trophies, Yuna favored the brute force method, usually ending her fights by violently killing the Primeval Gods.

"Which ones did you seal recently?" Yuna asked, curious.

"One with quasi-minor divine power and the rest with quasi-moderate divine power," Garon replied frankly.

Except for the quasi-minor divine power Flame Demon Wolf, the others were all quasi-moderate divine power beings.

Hearing this, Yuna sighed and slumped into the treasure-laden bottom of the dragon's lair, saying, "Forget it. I don't want to compete anymore. It's no fun."

The battles with the Primeval Gods, coupled with the intense encounter earlier, had left Yuna feeling exhausted.

Burrowing into the depths of the treasure pile, she soon fell into a deep sleep.

Garon, preferring to stay on top, lay amidst the densely stacked treasures. He took out several new Time Ambers, each containing a unique Primeval God, and suspended them around as ornaments, adding a bizarre and striking touch to the lair.

The intense battle with the World Devourer had left Garon feeling drained as well.

He entered a light sleep to recuperate while monitoring the ongoing Second Dawn War.

The battle between the gods and the Primeval Gods in the Prime Material World had reached a fever pitch, with more and more deities and Primeval Gods falling in various Prime Material Worlds. Even beings of great divine power were not spared, causing widespread upheaval.

During this period, other deities, not part of the Pantheon, caused significant trouble for the gods resisting the Primeval Gods.

The Queen of Darkness ambushed the Fairy God of the Pleasure Court.

However, the Fairy God had always been wary of her sister and reacted in time to avoid the assassination.

The God of Destruction's War nearly succeeded in killing the Orc God in his weakened state following a fierce battle with the Primeval God of Death, the Death Star. Fortunately, his greed for taking down both the Orc God and the Primeval God of the Death Star prevented this outcome.

The Earth Elemental Lord invaded the Plane of Air with his minions while the Wind Elemental Queen was engaged with a Primeval God, causing significant damage before the Queen could return.

Such occurrences, though not frequent, added considerable annoyance and complexity to the war efforts.

Had the gods united as they did in the First Dawn War, standing on a unified front against the Primeval Gods, the rekindled embers of these ancient beings would have long been extinguished, and the situation wouldn't be as dire as it is now.

"The current situation is almost the opposite of the First Dawn War," Garon mused in his semi-conscious state.

During the First Dawn War, the Primeval Gods were severely fragmented, fighting their own battles, with many even joining the side of the gods. This led to their eventual downfall despite having the upper hand, resulting in their long, silent decline.

The victory in the First Dawn War established the gods as the dominant force in the multiverse.

However, in the Second Dawn War, the now-matured gods, stronger than they were in the past, couldn't form the same unified front. Instead, the Primeval Gods had learned their lesson, forging strong alliances and gaining an edge in the war despite being weaker than the gods.

"Once this war ends, these troublemaking deities will need to be dealt with," Garon reaffirmed his resolve.

He knew that he wasn't alone in this sentiment. The other gods likely shared his thoughts, but the intensity of the ongoing conflict left them no time to address it.

Time passed quietly.

In the silent dragon's lair, the accumulation of life energy almost turned it into a milky ocean.

Within this ocean of life energy, a massive vortex centered around the silver dragon, continuously drawing in life energy.

With an entire plane's life energy as nourishment, Garon's recovery was swift.

Before long, he had not only regained his peak condition but also experienced a slight breakthrough. Opening his eyes, Garon stood up and stretched his limbs.

"My biological level has reached ninety-six. I'm one step closer to quasi-great divine power."

"Fighting powerful beings is the best way to stimulate growth," the dragon muttered.

Looking down, he saw that Yuna was still asleep at the bottom of the lair.

Unlike Garon, the Lord of Heroes, Yuna couldn't absorb life energy to expedite her recovery. Thus, she needed a longer period of sleep to recuperate, although it wouldn't take too long since she wasn't seriously injured.

Garon refocused his attention on the various Prime Material Worlds.

The Dawn War had not ended, but the most intense and brutal phase had passed, and both sides had entered a period of temporary respite.

During Garon's slumber, as quasi-great divine power Primeval Gods and great divine power deities fell or were grievously wounded, the other still-engaged entities, wary of their massive expenditures and the escalating threat of exhaustion, began withdrawing from the Prime Material Plane to recuperate and restore their strength.

A few battles between the Primeval Gods and deities continued, but on a large scale, the intensity had decreased.

And so, time passed, until Garon was on the verge of awakening.

In the shadows of the Abyss, the Ancient God of the Deep, gravely wounded after holding out against the Supreme Emperor, retreated to the Shadow Sea in the Abyss.

The Supreme Emperor then went to aid the Nine-Faced Dragon God. Faced with these two formidable entities, the Dread Lord, despite his fury, had no choice but to withdraw to the Silent Mountains.

Although the gods fought to repel the Primeval Gods, the destruction of the Prime Material Worlds was inevitable. The growing terror and despair among the inhabitants fueled the Dread Lord's power, giving him a slight advantage in his struggle against the Nine-Faced Dragon God.

However, this was far from sufficient to overcome the Nine-Faced Dragon God, let alone challenge both the Dragon God and the Supreme Emperor simultaneously.

In the highest echelons of the battlefield, with the Dread Lord and the Ancient God of the Deep retreating, no other Primeval Gods could stand against the Supreme Emperor and the Nine-Faced Dragon God. Thus,

the other Primeval Gods quickly withdrew from the devastated Prime Material Plane.

The Second Dawn War had thus paused, but it was far from over.

The Queen of Darkness, the Earth Elemental Lord, and the God of Destruction's War, who had caused disruptions during the war, now hid within their divine realms, showing no signs of their presence outside.

Meanwhile, within the Pantheon, a discussion was unfolding among the divine avatars regarding the state of the war.

"Everyone, let's begin by reporting our gains and losses," said the Nine-Faced Dragon God from his seat.

Through the exchange of divine information, the specific results and casualties from the first phase of the Dawn War were quickly compiled.

The Primeval Sun God and the Ruin Sovereign.

These two quasi-great divine power Primeval Gods were eliminated from the war—the Primeval Sun God sealed by the Eternal and Time Dragon, Garon Aurelian, and the Ruin Sovereign slain by the Elven High God, Corellon.

Additionally, the Primeval God of Death, the Death Star, suffered irreversible damage and would be unable to recover soon.

Below the quasi-great divine power level.

The number of quasi-moderate and quasi-minor divine power Primeval Gods slain or resealed far exceeded those at the quasi-great divine power level, including the Endless Storm, the Furious Flame, the Thunder Serpent, the Dusk Ancient Tree, the Fading Starlight, the King of Abominations, the Scarlet Demon Fish, the Devourer, and the Tide Master.

These were the gods' impressive gains, showing significant achievements.

However, the losses among the gods were equally grim.

The God of Justice, Tyr, was completely annihilated, devoured by the Chaos Hound.

The Gnome God, Gar Glittergold, was consumed by the Serpent of Night.

The God of Light and the Orc God were critically wounded and unlikely to participate in the subsequent battles.

Among the deities below the great divine power level.

The God of Strength and Courage, Kord, the God of Travel, Shandakul, the Dwarven Valkyrie, Hela, the Goddess of the Ocean, Umberlee, the God of Knowledge, Dugmara, the God of Protection, Helm, the Goddess of Joy, Lirrala, the God of the Bow, Solonor, the God of Forging, Frandor, the God of Adventure and Lightning, Masamu, and the God of Spies, Barivarn... the fallen gods outnumbered the Primeval Gods at this level.

This was just among the gods recorded in the Pantheon.

Some deities not affiliated with the Pantheon also suffered casualties.

Not all gods outside the Pantheon had betrayed it.

The Celestial God System, led by the Supreme Emperor, though not part of the Pantheon, had promptly joined the frontline battle against the Primeval Gods.

Those who betrayed the Pantheon and hindered the gods were few, mostly chaotic and mad deities who acted recklessly without regard for consequences.

Beyond the deities' casualties, countless sentient beings had perished, with species facing extinction, thousands of Prime Material Worlds left in ruins, and countless others teetering on the brink of collapse.

For the gods, these were immense losses.

In stark contrast to the reckless Primeval Gods, the deities, dependent on faith and concerned for their followers, faced significant disadvantages in this massive-scale war. Only the highest-ranking gods had unique ways to free themselves from their reliance on faith.

As the results and losses were compiled, a somber mood settled over the Pantheon.

At this moment, the avatar of the Orc God, sitting among the higher gods, spoke, "We are not weaker than the Primeval Gods. In fact, our combined strength surpasses theirs. Yet, some damnable evil gods have sabotaged us, putting us at a disadvantage."

Breathing heavily, his single eye bloodshot, the Orc God growled, "I propose that we take this pause in the war to deal with these troublemaking evil gods!"

"Invade their divine realms and slaughter them all!"

"Only with internal stability can we focus on defeating the Primeval Gods and turn the tide."

Savage and violent, the Orc God was himself an evil deity. Having narrowly survived an ambush by the God of Destruction's War, he was now in critical condition and seething with rage.

He and the God of Destruction's War had longstanding enmity, having clashed numerous times. Being successfully ambushed by his old enemy had ignited the Orc God's fury.

Meanwhile.

Hearing the Orc God's words, the other gods appeared thoughtful.

Indeed, the backstabbing actions of certain powerful evil gods had exacerbated the difficulty of this war for the gods.

The Orc God's suggestion was not without merit.

However, it was impractical.

Though a main deity, Gruumsh was impulsive and lacked foresight, often disregarding the consequences of his actions.

At this point, the Elven High God, not on good terms with the Orc God, spoke, "Gruumsh, your idea is sound."

The Orc God was momentarily taken aback.

In his memory, the Elven High God had never spoken favorably of him.

As expected, the Elven High God's tone shifted as he continued, "However, the Queen of Darkness and other evil gods are now hiding in their divine realms."

"You should understand how much effort it takes to breach a great divine power's realm."

Pausing, Corellon's gaze turned serious, "If we go all out to purge them, and the Primeval Gods strike when we are weakened, the situation will be perilous."

"If I were a Primeval God, I wouldn't miss such an opportunity."
