"Eliminate them at any cost. If the Primal Gods attack us when we're weak, the situation will be dire."
"If I were a Primal God, I would not miss such a good opportunity."
Hearing the Elf Supreme God's words, the Beast Supreme God scratched his chest irritably and said, "So, do we just let these disgusting creatures continue their arrogance?"
The Nine-faced Dragon God looked around calmly and said, "The trouble caused by these evil gods is not significant. Everyone should remain vigilant. Do not forget the presence of these evil gods during the struggle with the Primal Gods. Once the war is over, we can deal with them."
Under the current circumstances, ignoring the Primal Gods and forcibly clearing out the treacherous evil gods could be more dangerous.
As the gods discussed matters concerning the Primal Gods, the avatar of the Dawn Lord, left behind in the Pantheon, showed a hesitant expression. After a moment's hesitation, he suddenly spoke up, "Everyone, I have something to say."
The gods turned their heads to look at the avatar of the Dawn Lord.
"Speak."
Under the gaze of the Nine-faced Dragon God, the Dawn Lord's avatar's expression changed several times before finally saying, "I have lost all contact with my true self."
A god's true self can perceive everything about its avatar. However, the avatar cannot be omniscient about the experiences of the true self. Since the Dawn Lord returned to his divine kingdom, this avatar had received no news from the Dawn Lord, and any attempts at communication had gone unanswered. Worried that something might have happened to his true self, the avatar of the Dawn Lord had become anxious.
Hearing this, the gods' faces grew serious.
"The Dawn Lord is not in his divine kingdom?"
The avatar nodded and said, "My true self is not in the divine kingdom. He has gone missing."
The Nine-faced Dragon God's gaze shifted slightly towards the Mother of Earth, Xanthia, and he asked, "Xanthia, do you know the whereabouts of the Dawn Lord?"
The Mother of Earth had a close relationship with the Dawn Lord, alternating between partners and friends. Currently, they were considered friends.
Hearing the Nine-faced Dragon God's question, Xanthia, who was deep in thought, shook her head and said, "I don't know. During this period, Lathander has not contacted me."
The Nine-faced Dragon God then turned to the Dawn Lord's avatar and asked, "When did your true self go missing?"
Without hesitation, the avatar replied, "After the battle with the Primordial Sun God and upon returning to the divine kingdom."
Some gods, who had good relations with the Dawn Lord, tried to contact him but received no response, which confirmed the Dawn Lord's disappearance.
A powerful deity suddenly disappearing and cutting off all contact was no small matter. The gods speculated and discussed the situation.
At this point, the Lord of Knowledge, Oghma, pondered and spoke slowly, "The God of Sun and Evil Fire was ambushed and fell in the Abyss. The identity of the attacker is unknown."
"Now, the Dawn Lord has suddenly disappeared without a trace."
"The incidents involving the Dawn Lord and the God of Sun and Evil Fire happened in a relatively short span of time."
"There is a high probability that the same mastermind is behind the fall of the God of Sun and Evil Fire and the disappearance of the Dawn Lord."
The gods could confirm that the Dawn Lord was merely missing because the death of a god typically brings many anomalies, especially a powerful deity whose death would cause phenomena across the multiverse that would be hard to hide from other gods.
The fall of the God of Sun and Evil Fire was noticed immediately.
The Fairy Supreme God asked, puzzled, "If the same entity is responsible, why target these two? Is it a random attack, or is there a specific purpose?"
Meanwhile, the silver dragon's eyes moved slightly, and he said, "The God of Sun and Evil Fire and the Dawn Lord share only one common feature."
"They all have the domain of the sun."
Since Garon recently acquired the domain of the sun and knew the three deities who held it, upon learning about the troubles of the God of Sun and Evil Fire and the Dawn Lord, he naturally thought of the sun's domain.
"Is it for the domain of the sun?"
One god blurted out.
Garon remained silent but had a similar thought in his mind.
"If it's for the sun's domain, then since the God of Light temporarily lent it to me, doesn't that make me the next target?"
"Could it be that the God of Light sensed something unusual and deliberately lent the sun's domain to me?"
This thought had just begun to form in his mind when Garon dismissed it.
The God of Light was not a deity with a deeply scheming nature. Even if he was, he would rather deflect trouble onto other gods than onto Garon. As the leader of the Dragon God faction, Garon was an indispensable member. If anything happened to him, the Dragon God faction would not let it slide, which would be a big problem for the God of Light.
Given the power of the sun's domain, he could lend it out freely without needing to bring trouble to Garon.
"To kill the God of Sun and Evil Fire silently and cause the Dawn Lord's disappearance."
"If it is indeed for the sun's domain, the opponent is likely a formidable figure."
Garon frowned, deep in thought.
"Should I return the sun's domain to the God of Light?"
This was the safest course of action. But having used the sun's domain, Garon was reluctant to give up his magnificent and useful solar dragon wings. Moreover, he was not the type to shy away from trouble.
"If trouble comes, I'll face it head-on. I don't care who you are."
"If you come after me, Garon Aurelion is not to be trifled with."
The dragon's eyes were sharp, and he lifted his chin slightly.
Besides, Garon had the Time Reversal ability to protect himself, and he was backed by the Dragon God faction and the mighty Nine-faced Dragon God Io. He was not an easy target.
In the Pantheon, the gods continued their discussions.
Perched in the Eternal Heroic Hall, the silver dragon's eyes gleamed as he scanned the Prime Material Plane.
What he saw was devastation.
The battles between gods and Primal Gods often extended beyond a single Prime Material World. For instance, when Garon was pursuing the Dusk Starlight, he traversed dozens of Prime Material Worlds and outer planes, finally capturing it in the Astral Plane.
Unless there is a significant disparity in power, even battles involving lesser gods can span multiple worlds.
The clash between the Nine-faced Dragon God and the Lord of Terror had caused upheaval in countless Prime Material Worlds.
The first phase of the Second Dawn War had already caused extensive damage to numerous Prime Material Worlds, significantly impacting the Prime Material Plane.
"If this level of destruction continues, the Prime Material Plane might face the risk of collapse."
"When that happens..."
The consequences would make the gods shudder.
While divine faith is not limited to the Prime Material Plane, it is unquestionably the primary source of belief. Under normal circumstances, over ninety percent of a god's faith comes from the Prime Material Plane.
Due to the special nature of the Prime Material Plane, many scholars among the intelligent races even believe that the Prime Material Plane is the core of the multiverse. The outer planes, like Mount Celestia, the Abyss, the Wilderness of the Beastlands, and the Astral Sea, form a ring around the Prime Material Plane, creating the fundamental framework of the multiverse.
The outer planes, including the gods living in them, are seen as manifestations of the Prime Material Plane's philosophy and spirit, with their origins rooted in the Prime Material Plane.
While the concept of the Prime Material Plane as the core is not entirely accurate and is scoffed at by the gods, it still highlights the importance of the Prime Material Plane to some extent.
Because so many powerful beings were involved, Garon's Time Eyes could not see the specifics of the war's progress and outcome. However, based on the current information, he anticipated that this Second Dawn War would be more troublesome and dangerous than the first.
Immediately.
Garon left the Eternal Heroic Hall and found a vast area in the Dragon Court, beginning to explore the sun's domain. He also absorbed life energy and time river water to strengthen himself as much as possible before the next battle.
Meanwhile.
In the Outlands, the outer regions of the Outer Planes.
At the very center of the Outlands stood a grand and towering peak of infinite greatness.
It is known as the Spire of Infinity.
The gods dismiss the idea that the Prime Material Plane is the core because they know that the true heart of the multiverse is not there but here.
The Spire of Infinity is considered the central axis of the Outlands and the entire multiverse. All planes, including the Prime Material Plane, revolve around it. It is the heart of the multiverse.
At the peak of the Spire of Infinity lies Sigil, the City of Doors, which holds infinite portals leading to every corner of the multiverse.
The ruler of Sigil is the mysterious Lady of Pain, known as Her Serenity.
Once, the Storm Lord found the secluded micro-universe of the Creator Annam through the Lady of Pain. This once ambitious god showed utmost respect when facing the Lady of Pain.
Today.
Sigil welcomed a new guest.
A god stopped outside Sigil, adhering to the rule that no deity should enter the city.
He had a young and handsome face, with a brilliant smile on his lips, but his eyes were cold and emotionless, like two burning suns of golden flame.
He was the Dawn Lord, also known
as the Eternal Sun.
Around Sigil, beings from many races came and went.
Celestial beings from Mount Celestia, demons from the Abyss, devils from Hell, elemental beings from the Elemental Planes—all these diverse beings, regardless of their origin from order or chaos, lower planes or upper planes, were welcome in this unique city.
Except for the gods.
Since the God of Travel and Portals, more commonly known as the God of Space, tried to seize Sigil and angered the Lady of Pain, the city has barred all gods.
Now, any deity setting foot in Sigil would be considered an enemy of the Lady of Pain.
The fall of the Space God served as a stark warning to all deities to avoid provoking this enigmatic ruler of Sigil.
The myriad beings traveling through Sigil seemed oblivious to the presence of the Eternal Sun, as if he did not exist in their sight.
The Eternal Sun gazed at Sigil, standing silently.
In the next moment.
The space around him distorted, moving like irregularly fitting mirrors. It was as if a peculiar flower bloomed, each petal reflecting countless different worlds. Besides the usual ones, there were even worlds made of gray lines and a universe composed of blocks. Finally, the distorted and blooming space stabilized.
The Eternal Sun looked at his surroundings.
He was in an enclosed structure, narrow at the top and wide at the base, with a circular foundation. It appeared to be the interior of a tall spire.
Simultaneously, the crackling of burning wood filled the air.
In a fireplace embedded in the wall, orange-yellow flames quietly burned, with sparks dancing like living beings, casting a warm and dim light.
A woman, bathed in this light, lay in a rocking chair, absently reading a book.
She wore a black gauze dress, as if dressed for a banquet, accentuating her slender and graceful figure.
Her face was not perfect, merely above average, but she exuded a captivating charm that made it hard to look away. Her demeanor was calm and silent, with a dignified, serene, and noble aura like that of a detached noblewoman. However, her blood-red lips and sharp, blade-like hair added a touch of menace.
This was the Lady of Pain, known as Her Serenity, the enigmatic ruler of Sigil, whose true name remained unknown.
The Lady of Pain casually tossed her book into an inconspicuous corner, lifted her head, and looked at the Eternal Sun.
The fire's yellow glow highlighted her face, making her skin look even whiter and her lips as red as blood.
"Amannata, long time no see."
"This is our second meeting."
The Lady of Pain spoke.
When the Eternal Sun stepped onto the Spire of Infinity without entering Sigil, the Lady of Pain recognized the identity of this old acquaintance.
Amannata, the Eternal Sun, was not surprised. If he appeared before Io or Annam, his essence would also be instantly recognized.
"You don't seem surprised to see me again."
Amannata said.
The Lady of Pain's face showed a hint of impatience, and she said, "Someone like you, an ancient being, never truly perishes. Even if you die, you merely go dormant for a while. Eventually, you all return. It's quite tiresome."
After a pause, the Lady of Pain bluntly said, "So, what brings you to my Sigil this time?"
Amannata maintained his smile and uttered a single sentence.
"I wish to leave the Great Ring Multiverse."
Hearing this, the Lady of Pain's expression turned serious, and she said, "Opening a door to other multiverses would cost me an enormous amount of energy."
"Moreover, this is your origin. Do you think you can just leave even with my help?"
"Give up; I will not agree."
She refused decisively.
Only a few beings know that the multiverse they inhabit is not truly infinite.
The Abyss, Baator, Ysgard, the Elemental Planes, Celestia, the Twin Paradises, the Beastlands, the Elysium—all these planes together form a Great Ring-like structure known as the finite multiverse.
However, it is a finite multiverse, termed the Great Ring Finite Multiverse.
Outside the Great Ring Finite Multiverse, there are other finite multiverses, each vastly different or strikingly similar.
Together, these finite multiverses make up the true Infinite Multiverse.
In other finite multiverses, there exist beings and gods either entirely different from or very similar to those in the Great Ring Multiverse.
Garon had a flawed theory.
While traveling across different timelines, he encountered worlds vastly different from the Great Ring Multiverse. Based on his limited understanding, he thought only different timelines could create different multiverses.
In reality, this is not the case.
Above the infinite multiverse, when adding the time dimension, there is an even broader realm: the Infinite Time-Space Multiverse.
The River of Time flows through the infinite multiverse, spanning countless timelines. It is a magnificent phenomenon on the Infinite Time-Space Multiverse level. Garon's journeys along the River of Time occasionally took him to parallel timelines in other finite multiverses.
The strength of beings within each finite multiverse varies, with some stronger and others weaker. The Great Ring Multiverse, with its many deities, Primal Gods, Demon Lords, Archdevils, Elemental Lords, and other near-divine beings, is among the more powerful types.
The Lady of Pain does not originate from the Great Ring Multiverse.
Her original finite multiverse collapsed, forcing her to flee to the Great Ring Multiverse.
"Do not forget who extended a helping hand when you first arrived in the Great Ring Multiverse, shielding you from its oppressive force."
As a Time Dragon, Garon is an entity on the Infinite Time-Space Multiverse level. He doesn't feel any pressure in different finite multiverses, only experiencing certain effects due to different time flows.
However, not all beings are like Garon.
Even gods with divine ranks as high as twenty experience suppression and significant loss of power in a foreign finite multiverse.
