Chapter 534: Garon's Offspring and the Interdimensional Dragon Legion

The elf goddess, covered in sticky tar, weakly raised her head and looked up at the silver dragon who had rescued her.

As a former adversary, Garon had left a deep impression on the elf goddess. However, during the War of Glory, Garon was merely a demi-god and not of significant concern.

But now, the once-demi-god had ascended to a position she had to look up to, gazing down at her from above.

"Thank you for saving me, Lord Garon," she said in a soft voice.

The enmity between dragons and elves had been resolved since the Nine-faced Dragon God permitted the elven chief deity to join the Pantheon.

Despite the so-called enmity, the dragons had mostly used the elves as a stepping stone to resurgence, while the elves bore the brunt of the conflict. Now that the dragons had established their dominance and the gods' leadership had broadened, there was no longer a need to persecute the elves.

"With your strength, it's best not to engage with mid-level divine power Primordial Gods," Garon said calmly.

The Winged Elf Goddess replied sheepishly, "Lord Garon, I saw that you had already severely injured this Primordial God, and I thought I couldn't let it escape. I believed I could defeat it, so I descended to fight."

"But I was wrong..."

So that's why.

Unfortunately, believing one could win does not mean one can actually win.

The goddess had clearly overestimated her combat abilities.

"You should focus on low-level divine power entities," Garon advised.

He then recalled that she couldn't even defeat the King of Loathing, a low-level divine power, and corrected himself, "Actually, you should assist with the reconstruction of the damaged material worlds alongside the divine emissaries."

The Winged Elf Goddess nodded lightly. "I understand, Lord Garon."

"Thank you again for rescuing me. I won't trouble you anymore."

With that, she bid farewell to Garon and left the material world.

Afterward, Garon continued to traverse the material plane, primarily engaging in battles involving mid-level divine power entities. Occasionally, he would swiftly seal weaker Primordial Gods with a thunderous approach.

As for the entities of Near Strong Divine Power, Garon understood that confronting them was futile and chose to focus elsewhere.

Over time, following another defeat of the Ancient Sea God, the war reached a temporary lull, with the Primordial Gods retreating once again to regroup.

During this period, a notable event occurred.

The World Devourer, having been targeted by the elven chief deity, reached its limit in a battle and retreated from the material plane to the Abyss.

What happened next was unclear.

Since then, the World Devourer had vanished without a trace, as if it had evaporated.

The gods speculated that it might have been the mysterious entity that had previously killed the Sun and Evil Fire God or perhaps the work of the Abyssal demons.

Regardless, the absence of the World Devourer, a powerful Primordial God, was a boon for the gods. With the Dawn War being of greater importance, the gods had no time to delve into the reasons behind the World Devourer's disappearance.

In the ongoing Dawn War, the gods had repelled the Primordial Gods twice in succession.

On the surface, this appeared to give the gods the upper hand.

But the reality was far from optimistic.

Particularly, a subtle change had occurred within the material plane.

In one material world, Garon stood atop a towering peak, surveying the surrounding mountains and rivers, his brow furrowing slightly.

The great dragon extended a claw.

Fire elemental energy naturally converged, forming a small fireball.

Soon, the fireball rose into the sky and exploded with a thunderous roar.

Boom!

A massive fireball with a diameter of hundreds of meters illuminated the space, its flames roaring, heat waves surging.

This was merely a level three fireball spell.

"Something's off."

"With the material world's suppression, a level three fireball spell would previously create a fireball about 561 meters in diameter."

"But this time, using the same amount of magic, the fireball's diameter reached 562 meters."

Garon tested other spells as well.

Without exception, their power had increased slightly, similar to the enhancement observed in the fireball spell.

This indicated that the material world's suppression of gods and quasi-deities had weakened slightly.

And there was a high probability that it would continue to weaken, with the rate of weakening accelerating over time.

This was just the beginning.

Garon pondered for a moment and quickly understood the reason behind this change.

The ongoing battles between the gods and the Primordial Gods had inflicted immense damage on the material plane. Never before had so many divine and ancient beings descended to the material plane to engage in warfare simultaneously.

This placed a tremendous burden on the material plane.

At first, it could withstand the strain, but as the battles progressed and the damage deepened...

The material plane gradually lost its ability to completely suppress the gods and quasi-deities.

As a result, without the plane's suppression, the gods and Primordial Gods would be able to exert significantly more power in the material world.

Garon understood the implications of this.

While both sides could wield greater power under these circumstances, this was not good news for the gods.

The material world's suppression of gods and quasi-deities was steadily weakening.

If nothing unexpected occurred and things continued as they were, the future would likely unfold as follows:

The Primordial Gods would launch successive assaults, eroding and destroying the material worlds, causing the material plane's suppression of gods and quasi-deities to weaken gradually. This would allow them to exert greater power, making it easier to obliterate the material worlds on a larger scale, potentially leading to the collapse of the material plane.

The Primordial Gods were inherently destructive, and destruction was often simpler.

Once the material plane collapsed, it would inevitably impact the numerous outer planes connected to it, triggering an unprecedented extinction event.

At that point, except for the top-tier deities, most gods would suffer severe blows and plunge into an unparalleled state of weakness.

"As long as the worlds and life are destroyed, returning to the primordial era."

"No matter how strong the Nine-faced Dragon God and the Heavenly Emperor are, without the foundation of the gods and deities, they would be powerless to reverse the situation. The Primordial Gods don't need to defeat them; their goal is to shatter the planes and return to the primordial."

"Then, even though the dragon god faction, primarily composed of quasi-deities, might survive, countless worlds and lives would be annihilated. Without subjects to rule, what is the point of dominance?"

"A silent, desolate primordial era is not something I desire."

At this moment, the silver dragon, coiled in his lair, pondered quietly.

Meanwhile, in the Pantheon, the gods' avatars engaged in urgent discussions.

Many deities had noticed the weakening suppression of the material plane and recognized the gravity of this situation.

However, no matter how much they deliberated, they could not devise a satisfactory solution.

This was the Primordial Gods' open stratagem.

The gods derived their extraordinary divine power from faith, deeply dependent on their followers. They couldn't disregard the material plane.

Dragging the battle into the material plane, overburdening it to the point of collapse, was a direct and effective way to undermine the gods.

To break this open stratagem.

The only way was to defeat the Primordial Gods before the material plane collapsed, bringing the Dawn War to a swift conclusion.

Garon contemplated this and tried to predict whether the material plane would collapse first or if the Dawn War would end.

On the highest battlefields, the Nine-faced Dragon God and the Heavenly Emperor had an edge over the Primordial Gods, but capturing them was nearly impossible.

At the level of Strong Divine Powers, the sides were evenly matched.

Below the Strong Divine Power level, the gods were at a disadvantage. The Primordial Gods were generally more adept at combat, while many of the gods were not. Some, like the Winged Elf Goddess, despite being of moderate divine power, could be captured by lower-level Primordial Gods.

However, with Garon's efforts in sealing mid-level divine power entities, the disadvantage had been mitigated.

Each Primordial God he sealed expanded their advantage.

After some thought, Garon confirmed that his previous strategy was the best course of action.

"Quickly deal with the low-level and mid-level Primordial Gods, then the gods unite to overpower and gradually defeat the Primordial Gods."

About thirty years later.

The fires of war ignited once more.

Due to the slight weakening of the material world's suppression on gods and quasi-deities, both the gods and the Primordial Gods could exert more power, leading to greater destruction and making the material plane even harder to bear.

Since the first weakening of the material plane's suppression...

It weakened almost constantly, with the rate of weakening accelerating, like a snowball rolling downhill.

Garon moved between different material worlds, identifying targets, chasing, and sealing them until he was exhausted. After resting, he returned to the battlefield, repeating the cycle.

Due to the intense fighting, he could feel his growth rate increasing significantly, bringing him closer to the level of Near Strong Divine Power.

If he could break through to Near Strong Divine Power during the war, Garon believed it would significantly alter the course of the conflict.

Unfortunately,

He knew the odds were slim.

Time passed quietly.

After another round of battles, Garon rested in the Hall of Eternal Heroes, absorbing life energy. He calculated the speed at which he was sealing the Primordial Gods, compared it to the gods' struggles, and the rate of the material plane's collapse.

Ultimately, Garon arrived at a grim conclusion.

At this pace,

the material plane would collapse first.

Once the material plane collapsed, regardless of how many Primordial Gods were sealed, it would signify their victory.

"The destruction of the material plane is intimately connected to all the outer planes."

"In that case, perhaps we can ally with demons, devils, beast lords, and other quasi-deities..."

As Garon thought this, other gods had similar ideas and began to reach out, hoping to persuade other quasi-deities to cooperate against the Primordial Gods.

However, the response from the quasi-deities was minimal, having little impact.

The demon lords of the Abyss, without exception, cared little whether the material plane was destroyed and were even delighted at the prospect. The devils of Hell, embroiled in the Abyssal War, were neither willing nor able to participate in the Dawn War.

As for neutral quasi-deities like the Beast Lords and high-tier necromancers, lacking the gods' deep understanding of the material plane, they were largely indifferent. Most did not believe the material plane's destruction would affect their outer planes.

Even if there were repercussions, the quasi-deities believed they could endure them.

They mainly felt that the gods were trying to deceive them.

The Dawn War was too intense, with countless gods and Primordial Gods falling or being sealed. These quasi-deities were fearful and unwilling to be drawn into such a dangerous vortex.

At this moment, in the Hall of Eternal Heroes, within the dragon's lair.

Rustle.

Yona emerged from a pile of time amber and various treasures, shaking herself free of the scattered gems on her back before stretching widely.

"Why did I sleep for so long this time?"

Since Yona began her slumber, two rounds of war had passed between the Primordial Gods and the gods, a significant amount of time.

Yona hadn't progressed, remaining at low-level divine power and still some way from mid-level divine power. She had initially slept to recover from battle fatigue and shouldn't have required such an extended rest.

Blinking her eyes, Yona turned to look at the silver dragon.

"I have good news for you. Can you guess what it is?"

Yona said with a look of delight, her tail gently swaying as she spoke with a hint of mystery.

Garon looked at Yona and carefully sensed something. He then froze slightly.

Within Yona's belly was a new life force, similar to both Yona and Garon, yet distinctly unique.

This life force was not strong, resembling a firefly in comparison to Yona or Garon, but it was tenacious and brimming with vibrant life.

"This..."

Garon looked at Yona, realizing what her good news was.

"Yes, we're having a child."

"I wonder if we'll have a Time Dragon baby."

Yona patted her belly and said with a smile.

Garon felt somewhat dazed. He hadn't expected to have a bloodline descendant, even if it was still in the process of being conceived.

However, given the reproductive patterns of true dragons, both Garon and Yona, now just over 400 years old, were at the prime age for offspring.

As they aged, it would become increasingly difficult to produce offspring.

Steadying his mind, Garon asked, "Do you want to know? I can look into the future and see what this child will be like."

Yona considered for a moment and then said, "Let's not. It would spoil the surprise. I want to see for myself later."

Garon nodded and looked at Yona's belly, refraining from using his Time Sight.

Given the likelihood, their offspring would probably still be a Power Dragon.

However, even with the knowledge of having a child, Garon didn't feel overly excited, nor did Yona. They found it amusing but weren't particularly thrilled or emotional about it.

As immortal dragons, both Garon and Yona were eternal. They didn't need descendants to carry on their legacy or spirit.

Having offspring was fine, but if they didn't, Garon wouldn't mind either.

"When do you think this child will be born?" Garon asked.

"I'm not sure."

Yona replied.

"Let it happen naturally. I suspect it won't be born anytime soon."

Garon had a feeling that this child would take a long time to develop. Even after birth, it would likely need considerable time to hatch from its dragon egg.

Since neither Garon nor Yona were particularly focused on their offspring, their initial curiosity quickly faded, and they moved on to other topics.

"How is the Dawn War progressing?"

Yona asked with a curious expression.

"Not very optimistic."

Garon explained the current predicament facing the gods.

Yona pondered for a moment and then said seriously, "Actually, there's no need to worry too much."

"If it's as you say, that the material plane is on the brink of collapse and will affect all outer planes..."

"I believe that when that time comes, the reclusive legendary dragons won't remain indifferent."

Garon had considered this.

However, relying on uncertain events wasn't something he could count on entirely.

It was unrealistic to place all hope on the legendary dragons intervening at the crucial moment.

Garon needed to come up with his own solutions.

Pregnant dragons often become more lethargic, and Yona was no exception.

Shortly after waking, she felt drowsy and retreated to the depths of the dragon's lair to sleep again.

Meanwhile, Garon, coiled in the lair, absorbed life energy while deep in thought, recalling the details of the Dawn War and pondering strategies to combat the Primordial Gods.

Suddenly.

The image of a plump interdimensional black dragon gnawing on a Primordial God fixed itself in Garon's mind.

"Interdimensional dragons..."

"Why didn't I think of this sooner?"

The vague inspiration that had flitted through Garon's mind when he first saw the interdimensional black dragon now crystallized.

Garon's eyes gleamed with realization.

He had the ability to bring beings from alternate dimensions into the main timeline. The stronger the entity, the greater the cost to him.

However, he didn't need fully matured interdimensional dragons.

As long as they were in the demi-god realm, that would suffice.

For Garon, summoning demi-god level interdimensional dragons would consume very little energy. Now that he was of mid-level divine power, only summoning beings of equal strength would pressure him.

Demi-god interdimensional dragons, especially those with exceptional talent, would be sufficient to counter the Primordial Gods in the material plane.

"In the endless dimensions, countless interdimensional dragons possess remarkable talent. Some are even like protagonists of their worlds, blessed with extraordinary fate."

"I can assemble an interdimensional dragon legion to fight the Primordial Gods."
