In the high skies of a material world, there hovered the Heart of Shattering, a mid-tier deity-level Primeval God, resembling a giant, pulsating heart.
With each thunderous thud, its heart-like body expanded and contracted rhythmically.
Boom!
With each deafening beat, an invisible shockwave radiated outward, sweeping across the land.
Centered around the Heart of Shattering, these shockwaves instantly dispersed the clouds, and under the bright sunlight, towering mountains, regardless of their vast heights, crumbled into dust in mere moments. The solid ground itself turned to powder, including its iron ore veins, leaving nothing untouched.
In such a scenario, the fate of the living beings in this material world was grim.
The shattering ripples swept across the world like a colossal hand of destruction, crushing all life into dust and scattering them into the wind.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The Heart of Shattering continued its relentless cycle of expansion and contraction, echoing the sound of an apocalypse.
Initially, a god from the Halfling pantheon arrived to confront it.
This god appeared diminutive, only about a meter tall, a little more than half the height of a typical human. Yet, his body was perfectly proportioned, and his visage stern and dignified, giving no impression of being small.
In one hand, he held a gleaming shield, and in the other, a short sword, standing defiantly in midair.
This was Arvorn, the Guardian God of the Halfling pantheon, a mid-tier deity with war as his core domain, making him quite formidable in battle.
Staring at the rampaging Heart of Shattering, the Guardian God raised his short sword high, his entire being radiating a brilliant divine light that made his small frame appear immensely grand.
**Warlord's Command: Legion of Thousands!**
Buzzing light shadows appeared in the radiant glow of his divine power, coalescing behind him in an instant, forming into a tangible entity.
A vast army, stretching as far as the eye could see, materialized behind the Guardian God.
Unlike the diminutive deity, each soldier in this army was robust and powerful, clad in full-plate steel armor that even covered their eyes. Their warhorses, also heavily armored, stood imposing and ready for battle.
The army formed a charging formation and, led by the Guardian God, advanced towards the Heart of Shattering with a thunderous roar, traversing the sky.
Boom!
The Heart of Shattering expanded and contracted.
The shattering ripples condensed into invisible, crescent-like blades, both beautiful and deadly, slicing through the air towards the Guardian God and his army.
The Guardian God's eyes narrowed, sensing the ferocity of the incoming attack.
**Warlord's Command: United as One!**
Solid rays of light arose from each soldier in the army, intertwining and merging into the Guardian God, who then became the core of an immense, towering shield. The shield, with intricate patterns, appeared indestructible.
However...
Crack!
The shattering crescents struck the towering shield, leaving long, jagged cracks upon impact.
Crack, crack, crack... The continuous barrage of shattering crescents quickly reduced the massive shield to fragments, akin to a rainstorm battering a lake.
Slash!
The first crescent broke through the army.
The Guardian God's divine light coalesced into a giant deity nearly a thousand meters tall, who raised his now mountainous shield.
Boom!
The shattering crescent disintegrated just before hitting the shield, splintering into countless tiny crescents that swept through the army.
Armored warriors stood firm, their swords skillfully deflecting the fragments. However, the relentless assault from the crescents covered every inch of space.
In the face of such an intense onslaught, more and more soldiers fell to the shattering crescents.
The Guardian God's face was grim as he channeled his divine power, reviving fallen soldiers and steadily advancing towards the Heart of Shattering despite the relentless attacks.
The Heart of Shattering was almost defenseless in close combat.
If he could get close enough, the Guardian God knew he could easily defeat it.
But its long-range attacks were among the best in the mid-tier deity-level.
Under the barrage of shattering waves, the Guardian God's divine light began to fade, his body covered in wounds. Given the current trend, it seemed more likely that he would be sliced to death before reaching the heart.
Meanwhile.
The River of Time rippled subtly, forming the silhouette of a giant dragon.
The Heart of Shattering's assault momentarily paused as it sensed the arrival of a dragon in the material world, initially preparing to flee, thinking it might be the notorious Time Dragon that had sealed many of its kin.
However, upon recognizing the dragon that had arrived, the Heart of Shattering hesitated to retreat.
"A puny demigod dragon, here to die?"
A wave of mocking mental energy spread, conveying the Heart of Shattering's arrogant disdain.
To a mid-tier deity-level Primeval God, a demigod dragon was no more than a slightly tougher insect. Even under the material world's suppression, where it too was reduced to a demigod level, the disparity between demigods remained vast.
Ordinary demigods would barely survive a heartbeat before the Heart of Shattering.
The dragon that appeared was a white dragon, but unlike most white dragons, its scales were a mix of icy white and blue, exuding a perpetual frost aura.
Snowflakes and cold winds naturally swirled around it.
Winter Dragon Amos entered the battlefield.
With the arrival of the Winter Dragon, a bone-chilling cold spread through the air, and the temperature began to plummet rapidly.
The Guardian God looked up.
At some point, perhaps in the last instant, the once clear sky had been engulfed by a white veil. Fierce cold winds howled, and large snowflakes descended, even causing layers of frost to form and spread in midair.
In the blink of an eye, the area transformed into a wintry landscape.
The source of this transformation was undoubtedly the newly arrived Winter Dragon.
"Leave this to me. Do not interfere with my battle."
The Winter Dragon said to the Guardian God.
Shrouded in wind and snow, feeling the biting cold, the severely wounded Guardian God nodded and left the material plane without another word.
With the Eternal and Time Dragon's summons, the variant dragon legion had traversed dimensions.
The recent events in the Dragon Court, including the arrival of these variant dragons, were witnessed by the avatars of the gods in the Pantheon. Each dragon summoned by the mysterious and powerful Time Dragon was formidable.
Trusting in the abilities of the Eternal and Time Dragon, the Guardian God left the battlefield to the Winter Dragon.
Meanwhile.
Observing the scene of the world being shrouded in snow and ice, the Heart of Shattering's earlier contempt for the white dragon dissipated, though it did not yet feel fear. After all, the opponent was still just a demigod.
Could it be that as an ancient and powerful mid-tier deity-level Primeval God, it would fall to a demigod dragon?
The Heart of Shattering resolved to stay.
"You dare challenge a Primeval God as a mere demigod?"
"This is not a place for you. But since you're here, you won't be leaving alive."
Boom!
The heart pumped again.
Invisible shattering waves condensed into a spear, piercing through space towards the Winter Dragon.
Simultaneously, the Winter Dragon spread his wings, lifted his head, and unleashed a basic frost breath.
Whoosh!
The icy-blue breath struck the shattering spear, freezing the invisible shattering waves into a solid, icy spear.
At the same time, the heart's massive form was reflected in the Winter Dragon's eyes.
[Name]: Heart of Shattering, Ahmed.
[Power]: Mid-tier deity-level.
[Alignment]: Evil.
[Description]: A Primeval being born with the multiverse, wielding primordial shattering power comparable to extraordinary divine might. Its attacks are exceptionally sharp, but its physical body is relatively fragile.
Upon seeing this information, the Winter Dragon breathed a sigh of relief.
"It's not that my insight is weak; it's just that the Time Dragon is too powerful."
Garon was also at the mid-tier deity level, but the Winter Dragon couldn't perceive any of his details.
Reaffirming his confidence, the Winter Dragon's magical energy surged as he gazed at the Heart of Shattering, chanting a spell.
With the profound and mysterious incantation echoing through the sky, numerous magical runes appeared around him, flickering like stars in the cosmos.
An enormous, complex magic array unfolded, covering the sky. It contained millions of tiny sub-arrays, nested and layered, harnessing the true power of multiversal spellcraft.
As the Winter Dragon constructed his spell, the Heart of Shattering felt a vague sense of life-threatening danger.
Had it been facing Garon, under such a powerful attack, it would have fled.
But since the opponent was merely a demigod white dragon, the Primeval God's pride would not allow the Heart of Shattering to retreat. It also believed it wouldn't lose.
The spell the dragon was casting might be powerful, but it required a long preparation time and wasn't yet complete.
Boom, boom, boom!
The Heart of Shattering's pulsations grew more rapid.
Invisible shattering ripples churned the snowstorm, breaking the falling snowflakes into visible forms, resembling ripples on a lake disturbed by the wind.
These shattering ripples approached the Winter Dragon.
Meanwhile, the Winter Dragon's magical energy poured forth.
While constructing his offensive spell, he multitasked, casting defensive spells at a faster pace.
With his ability to analyze the shattering ripples, he knew exactly how to use the
right temperature to freeze these unique waves efficiently.
Buzz. Blue light spread from the Winter Dragon like flowing water under his command.
Each ripple moved closer, covered in layers of ice, and froze just a few meters in front of the Winter Dragon.
Ignoring the precarious situation, the Winter Dragon focused on his spell.
Again and again, the Heart of Shattering attacked, but each assault was neutralized by the Winter Dragon's analytical vision.
After another round of attacks and defenses, the Winter Dragon's chanting ceased abruptly.
The spell he had been preparing for so long was finally complete.
With such an extended preparation, its power was bound to be extraordinary.
In the icy world, the blizzard suddenly stopped.
In that instant, a chilling sense of doom filled every inch of space, causing the Heart of Shattering to feel a sharp, needle-like pain.
At this moment, the magical runes around the Winter Dragon gathered, forming a sigil resembling the Heart of Shattering.
Slash!
The sigil shot through the air like a meteor, targeting the Heart of Shattering.
Understanding that this was no good, the Heart of Shattering's heart pulsed and flickered, creating thousands of identical hearts in the sky, making it hard to discern the real one.
However, even without the Winter Dragon's insight, the sigil locked onto its true form, ignoring the decoys.
This scene was reminiscent of the aftermath of casting the Apotheosis Spell.
Garon had once gifted the Winter Dragon the Apotheosis Spell.
Though the Apotheosis Spell had many limitations and extremely stringent conditions, making it nearly suicidal to use against a deity without significant backing, it was still the pinnacle of spellcasting wisdom, crafted by the most gifted arcanists under the first Magic Goddess's guidance, providing much to study.
The Winter Dragon dissected the Apotheosis Spell, extracting its target-locking components for his own use.
Simultaneously, the sigil merged with the Heart of Shattering.
A binding sensation filled the Primeval God's core.
"Not good."
The Heart of Shattering ceased wasting energy on decoys, dispelling the countless false images, and braced for the impending attack.
In an instant.
Countless smaller, intricate magic arrays appeared in the air, forming a spherical formation around the Heart of Shattering, enclosing it completely.
**Frigid Ice Prison!**
In the distance, the Winter Dragon extended his claw and clenched it tightly.
Crack, crack. A cold, silent light began to spread from the outside in, freezing space inch by inch, causing the spherical formation to contract.
Trapped within the formation, the Heart of Shattering felt a mortal threat.
Boom, boom, boom!
Its heart beat frantically.
Shattering waves swept violently but were confined within the spherical formation, turning into solid forms as they froze.
Only now did the Heart of Shattering attempt to flee the material plane, but it was too late; the surrounding space was sealed.
"Why... a mere demigod..."
Its mental transmission halted abruptly.
The spherical formation closed completely, freezing the Heart of Shattering into a lifelike ice sculpture.
The Winter Dragon exhaled a breath, his tense focus relaxing after sealing the Primeval God. It had not been an easy feat.
As the Winter Dragon battled the Heart of Shattering.
In different material worlds, the variant dragons showcased their extraordinary talents, delivering a shocking demonstration to the Primeval Gods.
However, among all the variant dragons, the Winter Dragon was not the first to successfully deal with a Primeval God.
