"If we have him confirm it with the magistrates, any complications are unlikely to affect us," Harland agreed. "It would mean encouraging clients to seek us out in the future. These sorts of requests are likely to yield better rewards than the ones on the poster board. We want as many of them to come our way as we can get. It's a step in the right direction, I think."

"What about you, Vale?" Penelope asked, looking for support from elsewhere.

"I would say that I prefer something straightforward, Princess," Vale said. "There's too much room for something to go wrong in this."

"What's going to go wrong?" Harland argued. "The magistrate bears the burden of making sure everything is above board. It's not something that we have to worry about. We don't stand to lose anything here."

"What of our reputation when cancelling a quest?" Penelope said.
