I ran around the orphanage, giggling as I chased after my balloon.

"Come back," I yelled, laughing. I jumped and caught it.

"You sure love that balloon, don't you?" the caretaker said, chuckling.

"Yup," I said, smiling. "It's the only one I have."

She rubbed my head. "Well, maybe next week, we can get you another one. There's a discount going on at the store."

"Yep. It's for kids who can't afford it."

"Thanks, Miss Kozakura," I said, hugging her.

"Think nothing of it. Anyway, it's time for lunch."

She looked at the orphanage. "Say, Yuki. Why do you keep to yourself?"

I lowered my head. "Well, some kids get adopted. I don't wanna get attached to anyone and then get my heart broken when they leave."

"That's true. But, it's not healthy to isolate yourself."
