I gasped as we stood unharmed. A barrier of ice surrounded us. Was this Blizzard Domain? I heard of it from the others when they told me about how Koyuki had managed to defeat the demon who had hurt Milo.

I turned and saw Koyu panted, grimacing as more explosions rocked her barrier.

I had to do something, before she got hurt.

"Koyu!" I called out, pushing my own mana into the barrier to help her maintain it. I could sense her surprise, but she didn't argue, instead focusing her energy on reinforcing the barrier.

I could feel the strain on my own body, the ice mana within me roaring to life. But I pushed past the discomfort, focusing instead on the protective barrier that was keeping us safe.

"Yuki, you don't have to..." Koyu started, her voice straining under the pressure.

"Yes, I do," I cut her off. "We're in this together, remember?"
