Chapter 30: Always Later

"I don't know why it feels like you were gone for months. It was only a couple of days!"

Junie smirked over at Callie. "It's cause you love me that much."

Callie was currently sprawled out on Junie's carpet. For once, she didn't insist on doing work while she visited, which didn't happen often since Callie worked at her college campus bookstore while taking classes full-time. She was normally too busy to just lounge around. The girl was currently watching videos on her phone while Junie worked on a dress covered in battle armor.

"Won't your shifter warrior have a hard time fighting while in a dress?" Callie asked, eyeing the outfit that Junie had on a mannequin torso.

"It's a battle dress," Junie corrected her, her voice slightly muffled since she was holding a sewing pin in her mouth. She removed it and stuck it through the faux leather and into the fabric of the mannequin.
