Junie is a shy cosplayer and content creator who finds it difficult to allow others to get close to her. She finds that posting videos online about making costumes fills the void caused by her loneliness.
During a convention, she meets Kian, a fellow cosplayer and content creator who is determined to pull Junie out of her shell. Although the connection she and Kian share is electric, Junie finds herself retreating to her reclusive ways. But Kian is determined to be with her.

“You frustrate me so much,” Kian grumbled, his hand slipping through Junie’s hair as he held her close.
“That’s my line,” she mumbled, sliding her hands around Kian’s sides to rest them on his back. “You’re the one who refuses to listen.”
He quirked a thick eyebrow down at her. “And yet, you’re still here.” 
She wasn’t sure if she wanted to throttle the man or kiss him. “You’re here. Where else would I be?”

Junie bit back the curse that wanted to crawl up her throat as she packed her camera away in its protective case. She rushed to the bathroom and started to scrub the makeup off her face. She had just finished a video on cosplay makeup, something she had been wanting to do for months. 


She should have waited until after her mother visited, knowing that the woman had some pretty old-fashioned views when it came to girls and cosmetics. 


She could already hear her mom accusing her of wanting to be a prostitute. Junie gritted her teeth as she continued to roughly wipe the layers of product off her skin. 


Kian would be arriving any minute so he and Junie could go to the airport to pick up her mom. Junie told herself not to start a new video. She knew she wouldn’t have time to finish it and get her apartment cleaned up before they had to leave for the airport. 


As usual, she hadn’t listened to herself.
