Junie is a shy cosplayer and content creator who finds it difficult to allow others to get close to her. She finds that posting videos online about making costumes fills the void caused by her loneliness.
During a convention, she meets Kian, a fellow cosplayer and content creator who is determined to pull Junie out of her shell. Although the connection she and Kian share is electric, Junie finds herself retreating to her reclusive ways. But Kian is determined to be with her.

“You frustrate me so much,” Kian grumbled, his hand slipping through Junie’s hair as he held her close.
“That’s my line,” she mumbled, sliding her hands around Kian’s sides to rest them on his back. “You’re the one who refuses to listen.”
He quirked a thick eyebrow down at her. “And yet, you’re still here.” 
She wasn’t sure if she wanted to throttle the man or kiss him. “You’re here. Where else would I be?”

Kian shut his eyes for a moment and took a deep breath in through his nose. 


His apartment was in utter chaos. Callie was currently yelling at Micah over the video game they had just been playing, shaking her small fist right in her boyfriend's sheepish face. Junie was balancing a tray full of snacks with one arm while trying to pacify her younger cousin. Kian was barely able to grab the chips and cookies before they went toppling over onto the carpet. 


And to top it all off, his rival was sitting casually on his couch, watching it all happen. 


He could have throttled Micah for inviting Liam over to his apartment. He could have done it right then in the middle of the arcade but he didn't want Junie to know he still wasn't entirely comfortable with Liam. He didn't want her to worry about him. 


Still, it was obvious to Kian that Liam was attracted to Junie and he found that seeing his former classmate hit on her was challenging his initial resolve to be the mature one.
