Chapter 44: Twirling in His Arms

Nothing could have prepared Junie for what waited for her inside of the building.

She hadn't had a chance to go into the main room where the majority of the event was taking place. The hall had been transformed into a ballroom with golden chandeliers hanging from the high vaulted ceilings and tall, arched windows that lined the walls, offering views of the moonlit gardens outside.

There was a stage with dark velvet curtains where I assumed speeches were going to be held. In front of the stage was a dance floor made out of a laminate material that looked like dark wood. There was no one on it but there was soft romantic music playing thanks to a live string quartet.

Kian was standing directly in front of the dance floor, his eyes widening when he saw his girlfriend being dragged over by his mother.
