Chapter 49: Truly Bashful

“Junie, you were amazing in there!”

Junie hid her face against Kian’s shoulder, not quite able to get the last couple of hours out of her mind. The two were walking hand in hand through the large convention exhibition hall. The long hall was probably the length of a football field and was filled with vendors selling cosplay tools and accessories as well as merchandise from different shows and video games.

“I really wasn’t,” Junie argued as they walked. She paused briefly at a booth selling cat plushies. One round, squishy-looking one resembled Kiara. She pursed her lips and gravitated toward it. She picked it up and hugged it tightly. It was about the size of a watermelon and was insanely soft.

“That one’s forty bucks!” said a twenty-something-year-old girl with short blue hair. She waggled her eyebrows at Kian.

Kian chuckled and pulled out his wallet from one of the pouches on his belt. He handed the girl some money.
