Chapter 5: Conqueror Level Spatial Assassin

As Shao Li turned his back and started to walk away, after five steps, his 6th step, right before his right foot landed, a thin layer of ice sheet only big enough and the same size as Shao Li's foot materialized on the floor.

He was still flustered and not in the proper condition, so he didn't even manage to see it. Well, of course, that's understandable since the ice sheet materialized at the right time and is concealed enough that it cannot be seen unless one focuses on that specific spot on the floor.

When Shao Li's foot stepped on that ice sheet, he immediately felt something slippery on the floor and tried to stabilize himself. Unfortunately for Shao Li, things didn't go how he had expected them to. After a split second, his front right foot and leg slipped and continued forward, abruptly causing him to perform a frontal split position. Because he had never done any of this, or instead he was not a flexible person in terms of body movements, it brought tremendous pain from all the muscles that got torn because of the sudden split. His balls almost got crushed when it was only an inch away from the floor from impact.

Everyone was shocked by what happened because there was no reason at all for Shao Li to slip, especially now. Some students even started to think that he was just terrified and nervous about the student named Xu Han and why he was acting like that, and some of the students even laughed at him.

Shao Li had never felt shame like this before, and he had already sworn and began to plot how to get revenge on Xu Han later to recover his face from all this shame that had happened right here. He suppressed his injuries and quickly rushed out of the cafeteria.

Now that the annoying fly was gone, Xu Han continued devouring his meal as if what happened was only an insignificant fiasco. But all of this had not escaped the observant eyes of Yu Xue. Even with the sudden and unexplainable way the ice sheet suddenly appeared, Yu Xue has seen it all happen with his own two eyes and is now beginning to give a more curious glance at Xu Han. Although Yu Xue can't precisely explain why and what happened here, he was sure that everything that just occurred was against the conventional laws of physics that everyone knows about.

There's something at play here, and the strange ways that Xu Han is acting today, everything that's occurring must have something to do with him, or it was directly related to him, Yu Xue thought.

After this concise one-hour break, all the students returned to their classrooms when the bell rang, signaling the start of last-period classes.

Time passes. Xu Han's class is yet a boring subject, this being thought, which is a history lesson. It might be boring for most students, but Xu Han listens with great relish to all the stories the professor is talking about. He was also a great scholar back in his old world before he even began embarking on the path of a great conqueror and a magic emperor, albeit this characteristic of his never really died down, considering his interest in learning new things constantly, to the extent that he intentionally initiated his reincarnation.

The bell finally rang, and everyone stood up and scrambled to fix their things before heading home; soon, everyone had already left. It was almost already dark even though it was only approaching 7 pm because of the time of the combination of Earth's axial tilt and its position.

As Xu Han was walking, he deliberately slowed down because he could sense that someone had been stalking behind him since he got out of school. He already walked for 2 km, but that person still had no intentions of revealing himself. Well, not that Xu Han is stupidly unaware Xu Han was already who this is. Because of the rapid rate at which his soul synchronized with his body, less than a day from his awakening, he was already much stronger than before, compared to a few hours earlier. Even his senses are now not to be trifled with as Xu Han can even detect every single thing within 1 km with him at the center. And it continues to grow with every passing second.

As for the person stalking him, it was unsurprisingly Yu Xue. Xu Han did not sense any ill intentions from that very low-key classmate of his, or else he would've already erased him from existence right here, especially since it was dark and no one would suspect anything from his unique methods.

Xu Han, "Since you've been following me for so long, Yu Xue, why don't you reveal yourself?"

Yu Xue emerged from the darkness when he heard this, and when he appeared and stepped into the light with Xu Han's superior sense, especially at such close range, what occurred could not escape his eyes.

It was as if Yu Xue was merged within the shadows completely, and because when a part of his skin that was in the shadow made contact with the light, there were violent ripples on the line bordering shadow and light that waved as if it hated stepping into the light, acting like it was its mortal enemy. Of course, none of this was noticeable to the human eye. Otherwise, Yu Xue would've freaked out by what occurred to him every time he went from the shadows to the light.

Xu Han's interest is once again ignited; it was unexpected to find a seemingly normal human with the talent the same as a conqueror-level Spatial Assassin in this non-magic-oriented civilization. If Yu Xue is adequately nurtured, it is impossible for him not to grow into a terrifying assassin who can shuttle between multiple folds and layers of dimensions and perfectly mold within the darkness like a fish in water.

Xu Han, in his thoughts, "Well, it's not bad to take in a powerful talent like this and have him as my general in the future, but that will depend on whether or not he's got the will to grow stronger and be my loyal right-hand man."

After this brief and quick thought, Xu Han and Yu Xue have already approached him.

Yu Xue, "I'm pretty surprised that you managed to know that I'm following you; this has never happened before with anyone that I intentionally or unintentionally followed around, as if they don't see me at all sometimes."

Xu Han, "Nothing is surprising about this, young man. A talent will always only be a talent without nurturing and development. Do you think you can sneak around me, hmp? Even if you have the highest attainments with your natural talent, I can still crush you with my breath at my peak, kid, which isn't far also."

Yu Xue was a bit puzzled by what this guy was saying, acting as if he was some old guy, but he remained calm and arranged his thoughts. He has to admit that his curiosity always gets ahead of him, and he is also quite surprised that he doesn't get caught at all, and this is the first time.

Yu Xue, "You're acting weird today, Xu Han and I'm just curious about it; it's why I'm following you. I'm not exactly sure what happened earlier at the cafeteria. Still, the sudden heat and the appearance of eyes on the floor just as Shao Li's foot was going to step on it is not what normal physics could do at all, and I guess that it's somehow or directly related to you."

Xu Han's gaze sharpened at what Yu Xue said; he didn't expect that this guy was not only born with top talent in spatial and darkness laws but also quite intelligent and curious.
