Caught on the Spot

I got into the other car, where a refined and scholarly man was seated. He glanced at me, nodded, and without saying a word, started the car and headed towards Jingshan.

The closer we got, the more nervous I became, my hands tightly clasped together.

"Relax! Just follow my lead and don't talk," the doctor said, likely noticing my anxiety. "It'll be fine as long as you cooperate."

As we approached Jingshan, the familiar ornate gates were closed, just like they were the last time I was here. However, this time, as soon as the car reached the gate, it slowly opened, and we drove in without any hindrance.

I glanced around the entrance, noticing nothing unusual. There were no visible guards, nothing indicating the high level of security I knew was in place.

The car stopped at the entrance of the castle. Before getting out, the doctor said, "Just stick close to me and keep quiet. Don't be afraid."
