I stood dazedly in front of the Anteiku Cafe, trying to figure out if what I was seeing was the truth. After standing for a couple of minutes, I verified that it was indeed Cafe Anteiku, then moved inside.

The room strongly resembled its former self, except for a couple of small things, like the arrangement of the tables. I sat down at the nearest free table, of which there were plenty. There were only two or three people in the cafe now, which wasn't surprising. Most of them were still either working or studying, and I didn't stay long in elementary school.

Meanwhile, a suspiciously familiar girl with long, dark purple hair and in a waitress uniform came up to me. She looked at my hair with a strange look, holding a notepad and pen in her hands.

- Hello, what would you like to order? - she asked calmly.

- Coffee. - without taking my eyes off her, I answered. - Young lady, what's your name?

- М? - She looked up from her notebook in surprise. Looking at me again, the girl smiled slightly. - Touka.

- Hehe..." I grinned, averting my gaze. - Touka, then. Thank you.

So, what can I say? She doesn't look like my Touka at all, but she does have some facial and body features in common, and maybe a similar personality, but you can't tell from a short conversation like this. She's younger, like 14 or 15, and her hair is different. But it also means that this world has some basic aspects of other worlds, but their essence disappears. I'm saying that Touka is human, it's pretty clear from the smell. But there's still one thing left that I'm curious to know....

After waiting for my coffee to arrive, I smiled sweetly at Touka, who smiled back and asked a couple of questions about the cafe. The girl answered everything with a smile, well, and the third question, was the one I was most interested in.

- Esdes? - Touka was surprised. - Yes, that's our waitress too, but she couldn't go to work today.

- I see... - I nodded to my thoughts. So this is a reflection of events that happen in other worlds, not their canons. I brought Esdes to Anteika, and it's reflected here. That's an interesting way of doing things. - I just heard a lot about this cafe from a... friend of mine, he talked about it a lot. Especially about the girls. By the way, I also heard from him about a certain Hinami...''

Touka's eyes widened in surprise, and I mentally cursed. I guess I guessed, but....

- Yes, that's our chief's granddaughter. - Touka nodded in surprise. - But she rarely comes here..., and what is your friend's name?

- I took a sip. - lovely coffee. His name is... Shinji. Shinji Kureeda.

- I don't know that one. - the girl shook her head.

- Well, thank you for the pleasant conversation. The coffee is excellent.

- Thank you. - Touka said with a slight blush and a sadness I didn't understand at the same time. - What's your name?

- Let's use the first name. My name is Kaneki. I thought I'd stop by this cafe and....

The thought that we were sitting by the window popped into my head. I instantly spotted Yuno round the corner, making me worry for Touka. She might be in danger now. I should be getting out now.

- You know, Touka, would you mind going for a walk, say... on Sunday?

- Ah... I... don't mind. - the girl was embarrassed. - Are you asking me out on a date?

- Heh... - I smiled. - tell me, how old do you think I am?

- 14 or 15. About the same age as me.

- That's how... Okay, well, can I have your number?

***

I left the cafe, wondering where to go now. I could go home, I've got nothing else to do. Unless... hmm.

I confidently headed towards the house, keeping an eye on Yuno's movements. The stalker continued to follow me, though she stopped a bit near Anteiku. At this point, I was already twitching to run back, but it was all over.

So, what do I do now? Today is Thursday, which means we're three days away from the "date". Those three days could be spent doing something else, like making enquiries about certain individuals and considering whether I should do anything with him.

While I was pondering, half of the way home was already passed. Yuno continued to follow me and I did decide to do one thing. Abruptly I turn into an alleyway, stopping near the corner. Leaning against the wall and starting to wait.

Yeah, it's a childish ploy, but I'm still a child myself. At least, hormones contribute to it strongly and set me on the path of pathos and love. Pathos and love... Yeah, I'm losing respect for myself.

And then Yuno comes round the corner, clearly about to dash into the alley... and sees my cheerful look.

- Hello, Juno. - I grinned.

***

- Kaneki, are you sure you're not mad at me? - Yuno asked, ashamed.

She looked incredibly cute, guilty and embarrassed at the same time. Yeah, she may be a little crazy, but she's still a beauty... okay, that's not where I'm going with this.

- Juno, I don't understand your worries. - I said calmly as I continued walking down the street. The girl walked beside me, constantly looking into my eyes. - Really, if you want to talk, just come over and we'll walk.

- Kaneki, why did you go in there? - She suddenly asked.

- I have an acquaintance who works there, so I came to chat. - I smiled with the corner of my lips. - What did you want?

- Well... - the girl was embarrassed.

And then I suddenly realised why she was so mature. She's not 12 now, she's 14. She lived two years in that world, after which she went back in time. So, by the time the game starts, she'll be 16, which explains her... um, fascination. This carcass here is 12, which I'm not happy about.

- I've been looking out for you. - with a saintly naivety in her voice, Yuno replied. Yeah, she was pretty straightforward in canon, too.

- Oh, yeah. Well, thank you. - I said calmly, tucking my fringes away from my eyes with my hand.

A happy smile blossomed on Yuno's face, and in my mind I remembered the scene when, because of one praise, she was fighting off a bunch of throwing knives with one big bayonet knife, or something similar. Hmm, I should praise her more often.

- Listen, Yuno, are your parents... are they treating you well? I take it they're not your family, right?

The girl flinched, which didn't escape my sight. Hmm... So she's already killed them. And I saw them two days ago...

- They're gone. - she said quietly and a little irritated, lowering her gaze.

- Gone, then... - meanwhile, we were already approaching my house. - ahem, see you tomorrow at school?

Yuno looked sadly at my house, looking at me with some hope.

- Bye-" suddenly, Yuno moved closer to me, kissing me softly.

I stood dumbfounded for a couple of seconds, realising that I wasn't ready for such an unpredictable turn. Meanwhile, the girl moved away from me, waving her hand at me with a bright smile.

- Bye, Kaneki!

In the meantime, I caught a glimpse of the curtain in our kitchen window. Only Mum could be home right now, which meant....

***

I walked into the kitchen, glancing at my mother sitting suspiciously quietly at the table. So she'd seen... But, I strode nonchalantly to the cupboards, pulling out coffee. Though the quality of the powder is poor, even it can be used to make satisfactory coffee. The Ghouls of Anteiku, of which I am one, are good at it.

I silently brewed a large mug of coffee, then turned around and headed towards the stairs to the first floor, where my room was located. There was a computer there, so I'd look for information about other diary owners.

- Wait." came my mum's cheery voice. - Who's that girl?

- A classmate. - I answered calmly, stopping in the passage without turning round. - Yuno Gasai, the girl I pushed away from the truck.

- Oooh, so our closed one has it....

- Don't act like a child. - I said coldly, turning my head slightly, casting a glance at the seated Rhea. - Mum, I'll be in my room.

I went up to the room and sat down in the computer chair, noticing several darts targets, which the former mascara owner was fond of. Turning on the computer, I pondered the situation I'd gotten myself into. The gods couldn't have thrown me this far away for nothing. 2 years before the events began, that's too much.

Meanwhile, the computer switched on and I immediately went to google, typing in: "Terrorist Minene Uriu" Uh-huh, terrorist bomber, mostly operates in religious establishments. But I'm not interested in that, I need to... ah, here! Recent incidents were first in Kazakhstan, then China and recently a church bombing on the coast of Japan. Huh, so she's going to take a little detour? I mean, at the beginning of the canon, it seemed to say that the terrorist was recently spotted in Japan, but she's already here. Hmm, maybe even if she's in Tokyo, I'll try to intercept her and meet her. As a canon character, she was very... well, okay, more or less normal, with a fairly well-described backstory. So I don't really want to kill her specifically.

So... what's next?

***

Well, as I thought, there's only a very small amount of information about them. Moreover, I couldn't remember more than half of the owners' names, and I searched for Kamado Ueshita for a VERY long time, just going through all the available orphanages in Tokyo, looking for the right manager.

I didn't find out anything particularly important, just the information I already knew. Sadly, I did find out the location of a certain "Omekata cult", the head of which was Sano and Hotori Kasugano, who has a daughter Tsubaki. Also, there's a rumour online that they've decided to disband the cult, which means they'll soon die in a car crash set up by some advisor of theirs whose name I can't remember. Further, Tsubaki's sex with numerous new cult members will follow, making this organisation extremely... questionable.

Question. Should I get involved? The answer is, why? I don't care about the girl who will be my enemy at some point, but unlike Yuno or Minene, I don't have any positive feelings for her, nor do I have any negative feelings for her. I'm neutral towards her, let's put it that way.

The mayor of our little town, John Backus. What can I say, you can not do anything with him, too high persona sits and too much influence on the future will be. I couldn't find anything about a couple of fighters in love, as they are nobodies in their own right, and I don't remember their names at all. If there was some kind of "memory list" with those who were raised in the orphanage and graduated from there, I could still look, but there was no such thing. There was also the child of one of Kasugano's cult followers, but... I couldn't find them. I didn't even want to look for the bastard in the hero's costume, he's no good anyway. Who else was there? A dog handler, a detective and a maniac. Correction, maniacal male. We've got three maniacs here, so we need to be more specific. So there's also a female maniac and a Ghoul maniac.

Leaning back in my chair, I looked sadly at the empty coffee cup, then stood up and with a snicker, launched a dart at the target. Hmm. A bullseye. Not surprising for a Ghoul with far more developed senses and swordsmanship.

The next day.

I walked to school, thinking about my plan for the day. There was no plan. I'm free to do whatever I want, with whomever I want, and...

- Kaneki, where are we going after school?

- Yuno, I don't know. You can't just decide.

Yeah, there was this stalker girl waiting for me under the house, immediately hugging me when I got out of there, going to walk to school in peace. Still, nice as hell.

- Juno, don't you have any extra classes? - I asked, just to lighten up the conversation.

- Nope!" she said cheerfully, taking my hand and snuggling up to me like a couple.

- What are you doing? - I asked calmly, glancing at the girl. She looked at me with her pink eyes, to which I smiled a little, continuing the movement.

***

We created quite a stir at school. Not only were Japanese people shy enough to walk hand in hand after a couple of months, but teenagers were even more shy, and for them, seeing Yuno, the idol of the school, pressed to their chests was clearly painful.

Even before entering the school grounds, I caught envious glances, but when we walked into an environment where everyone knows us relatively... oh, it was fun.

But as I continued to talk about it, I was ready for a fight with someone determined to punish a bratty kid from the elementary school. However, the break was quite calm..., but after school, at the gate was waiting for a group of guys with Kosaka at the head.

But that's not what I liked about the situation. In the courtyard, there was quite a large number of students going home, everyone, EVERYONE turned to this group, following their gaze and looking sadly at me. Everyone understood my plight, but no one wanted to help. Or rather, almost no one.

- Hi, Amano! - smiled at the guy who came up to me.

- Hello, Aru Akise. - I replied with interest, wondering how many seconds it would take for Yuno to jump on me from behind. - What are you doing here?

- Well, I understand you have a problem. - The white-haired man smiled softly, nodding towards Kosaki and his gang. - I wanted to offer to help.

- Hmm..." I glanced at him, wondering if I should send him away or play along.

- I think I'll take you up on your offer. - I grinned slightly as Yuno's cheerful voice caught up with us.

- Kaneki! - My hand was immediately grabbed, and Akise received a cold, piercing stare.

He clearly didn't like that, and the kid frowned as he looked at the girl.

- Yuno Gasai. - he hissed. - How long have you two been together?

- That's too personal. - I grinned, and Yuno's eyes glittered with puzzlement. Can't believe I confirmed our relationship? They're pretty weird though... -I think it's time to break a few bones with someone. - I crunched my fingers, directing my gaze towards the guys at the gate. Yuno's gaze fell on them as well, taking on a familiar note of murderous lust, but after a second, she looked at me worriedly. Heh, this is going to be fun.
