A moment, and the boy disappears down the alley with unthinkable speed.

- Wh-wh-what is that!???? - Wailed one of the blue-haired subordinates, pointing at her phone.

- Calm down! - shouted the head, calming her panicked men. - Don't forget that we can easily change the future, and this monster can't!

- But he has already done it. - said the sniper glumly, surveying his surroundings. - As soon as that guy looked at us, the future changed for all of us. No, it changed before he even saw us.

- Get ready, ragheads! - shouted a big man with two Desert Eagle pistols in his hands, which he easily held thanks to his muscular muscles. - he's alone, and we're...

"SHFYK."

- Eleven. - came a hum from the figure that appeared out of nowhere behind the man.

His black hair slightly covered his eyes, or rather one scarlet eye with black whites. The rest of his face was covered by an eerie black mask, with gums and teeth, between which was a lightning bolt with a lock. The mask completely covered his right eye, making the guy's head look even creepier.

He was wearing the same clothes as their target, and no one thought to doubt that it was him in the slightest. There were 4 large scarlet tentacles coming out from around his waist, one of which went into the strongman's back, currently convulsing with blood coming from his mouth.

The blue-haired woman stepped back a little in shock, throwing a glance at the screen of her phone.

"19:37. Street rooftop. Our entire group has been killed by a Ghoul."

"DEAD END."

- FIRE!!! - she bellowed, bringing her allies to their senses.

They instantly raised their weapons, they all had different ones, but the one thing they had in common was that they were firearms. Dozens of bullets simultaneously rained down on Ghoul, who was looking at the leader with a strange look in his eyes. As soon as it noticed the attack, its tentacles increased dramatically in length, covering its owner. The latter hummed quietly at their actions.

The blue-haired woman looked away from the gunfire from her Scorpion for a second, throwing a look full of hope at the phone screen.

"19:37. Street rooftop. The whole group except me is killed by a Ghoul."

"19:39. "Street roof. Ghoul asks me my name. Why?"

"19:41. Street roof. Ghoul asks me with interest about our mission. What the?! He kissed me!"

"19:43. Street roof. He pierced my chest with his hand."

"DEAD END"

"The future has changed a bit!" - thought the girl. - "But why?"

Meanwhile, several of the attackers had run out of ammunition in their magazines, and the hail of bullets had subsided a little.

- Third, Fifth he's attacking!!! - shouted Sixth in their group, and along with her words, 2 more tentacles appeared from behind Ghoul's back, swiftly heading towards the people in question. However, those rolled over, letting the tentacles pass over them... however, those did not change their trajectory, slamming into the flesh of Eleventh and Ninth, who were standing not far from its original targets.

Panic manifested itself in the ranks of the attackers, and the firing practically ceased. All the massed gunfire, merely left a couple of scratches on the huge tentacles, which instantly disappeared, regenerating.

Meanwhile, the sniper decided to do the smarter thing, moving further and further away from his team to the side, so that he could put a bullet into the monster when it opened up. The Ghoul itself, however, only smiled slightly beneath its mask, watching the humans' efforts and pondering their purpose.

Hmm... And yet, what was the two of them trying to achieve by siccing these people on me? To test my abilities in practice? No, it's more about how hard it would be for me to kill the diary users, but then again, killing them is no problem for me. Moreover, these traits are quite aware of me since they shoot at my eyes, or rather try to.

And the blue-haired one over there... not only is her voice and appearance familiar, but her smell... well, at least Esdes smelled like that before I made her a Ghoul. And she had dyed her hair a darker shade then, not like here. I think I found the very "Esdes of Anteiku" that Touka was talking about... the one here, I mean.

Lazily thinking about nailing a couple of fleeing owners, I released the last 2 tentacles. All eight were free.

- Tenth, Fourth! - shrieked the same girl who warned my previous targets. Hmm, she's starting to get annoying.

However, even though the 2 fleeing targets somehow dodged my lunges, I still managed to grab their legs, dragging them sharply along the ground towards me. Meanwhile, a couple of the more "brave" ones fired at me again, but a cocoon of my own kagune reappeared around me. Meanwhile, the two unfortunates had already been dragged towards me, and a cunning plan had formed in my mind.

There were a couple of static sounds from the phones, but I ignored it, thinking about my next steps. I wanted to drag one of my "hostages" inside the cocoon, tear up his body, eat his dinner, and then show the spectacle of his guts to the people.

- HE'LL EAT THE TENTH!!! - came the wild shriek of panic from the familiar voice of that girl. She's seriously starting to piss me off.

Yeah, except there was one thing about my plan that I didn't like. Blood. It would stain all my clothes, and unlike Akame's world, where I didn't have to worry about that because of the enchantment on my clothes, here it's worse, because I don't have any clothes or magic.

So I'm going to have to abandon the plan and just slaughter these grief-stricken killers from a distance. I heard the hissing from the phones again and decided to finally take decisive action. I should nail that bitch, she's really annoying.

I hum, and sharply pierce the fortune teller's body... oops, she recoiled. All right, she's not likely to dodge three blows at once.

Indeed, the girl was trapped, and as a result, her head flew off her shoulders. Humming, I left only one tentacle near the eyes, and the other 7 went to the bodies of 4 people who were not interesting to me.

As a result, there was only me and possible Esdes left on the roof. Well, one more person is now running away from here, having overcome the rooftops almost a hundred metres, but I'll catch up with him later.

After removing a few tentacles, leaving only 4, just in case, I leisurely approached Esdes, who had fallen on her heels and was staring at me in horror. Funny, and not long ago she was so confident... I let out a chuckle, removing my mask to speak. The fringes that fell over my eyes instantly turned white, and I forcefully suppressed the kakugan as the kagune was still released.

- Firstly, I'll start by asking. What's your name? - Trying to smile as friendly as possible, I asked cheerfully.

- E-E-Esdes..." the girl mumbled, and I nodded slightly at my thoughts.

- So it was you Touka was talking about... Heh, I imagined you older. - A grin came out on my face, and notes of surprise and horror appeared on the blue-haired girl's face.

- T-Touka?! - she asked in a panic.

- Mm-hmm. Cafe Anteiku, we met her a while ago, even went out a couple of times. She's where I heard about you.

- You... No... don't... dare... her..." Esdes started to say in shock, trying to fumble for the gun behind her back... except it had long ago collapsed from the roof below.

- I wasn't going to eat her. - I shrugged. - I'm a peaceful creature, I stand up for my friends... hmm. - The moment I killed Chelsea came to mind. She wasn't a friend, though, and... well, that's not really a good example. Hmm... I mean, I can think of Juvia when she died protecting Wendy, and I... okay, I'm starting to think about the past a little too much. - But still, why did you attack me? Or rather, how were you forced to? Deus and the gods could have brainwashed you, but I doubt it.

- Y-You know them? - Nod on my part. - They gave us the diaries of the future..., and then, after a few days of our happiness from such a find, they said that if we don't kill you within five days, the diaries will be taken away, and we will be killed.....

- I see. - I nodded. - Well, it was nice to meet you. And now, Requiescat In Pace.

Simultaneously with those words, my kagune pierced Esdes' body, and I stepped away from her, remembering the dozens of hours I'd spent playing a marvellous game called Assassinʼs creed. I'd better see if it's on the local kr...

The world sank into darkness, and through it, I could feel myself falling onto the concrete of the roof.

- The brunet was sceptical, sitting on a small throne next to Deus and looking at the screen that showed what was happening. One of his favourites had just gone down with a sniper bullet in his brains that had gone through his left eye.

- He was almost able to overpower twelve diary owners...' Deus frowned. - Amazing. But you don't seem particularly upset.

- Why would I be? - The brunet snorted, rising from his throne and stretching.

- Your favourite has just been killed. - Deus explained.

- Pfft! - His old friend snorted, and with a pass of his hand he opened another window in front of him.

It showed a white-haired boy sitting on a rooftop. A black toothy mask with white patterns sat on his face, and next to it lay a black katana with a crack along its length. Taking a closer look at his figure, the brunet smiled slightly.

- Hey, sister! - He called out to an unknown person.

Suddenly, a young girl, a head shorter than him, appeared in front of him. She had bright blue eyes and dark blue hair. She was also wearing blue stockings, a short blue checked skirt, and a soft blue school uniform.

- Brother? - she asked in surprise, then looked around... and stared at the main screen in a stupor. - Come on...

- Yeah, he's got another world on his hands. - the brunet nodded.

The girl looked dumbfounded at the lying white-haired guy with a bloody hole in his left eye, waving her hand at the giant and weakly saying:

- Hey, Deus...

Suddenly, she gave an indignant look at her brother.

- You didn't think to call me?! - she shouted indignantly. - I'm sitting over there, bored to death, and you're having fun?!

- Calm down. - the guy waved her off. - Why did I call you here? You can go watch Crowl, he's got your favourite thing going on.

- Blood, guts and meat grinder? - The girl asked, raising her eyebrows in surprise.

- Mm-hmm. But don't touch him, let everything go on as it should. Otherwise you'll get in again and everything will go wrong, and maybe it'll kill someone unnecessary. I'll come back later and check the list of changes, so you watch me--

- I'm off! - the girl said cheerfully and disappeared. Just before she disappeared, a huge jar of popcorn appeared in her hands, indicating that she was having a very fun time.

Meanwhile, on the main screen, the lying Ghoul was approached by his killer. Sniper, Second, Lucky, and so on. He exhaled a sigh of relief as he looked at the dishevelled head of his opponent.

- Let's go congratulate the remaining survivor, shall we? - Deus asked glumly, unhappy with the stupid death of such a promising character (Ghoul).

Instead of answering, the brunet only raised his hand, clenched into a fist. The first finger went up. Followed by the second. Third, fourth... fifth.

The "dead" Ghoul's hand jerked sharply, grabbing the sniper's leg, throwing the man to the ground. The man screamed with fright, and his eyes reflected simply wild terror. The rifle was out of his hands, and the Second's gaze was relentless on the white-haired man's wound, which was healed literally before his eyes.

The jaws of the Ghoul closed on the sniper's neck, biting off a significant chunk, hitting the carotid artery. The man died instantly, and the Ghoul continued to devour its victim. Its eye grew straight out of nowhere in just a couple of seconds, immediately acquiring a scarlet iris and black protein.

- H-how???? - Deus asked in shock.

- His regeneration, still in its highest form. - explained the brunet, pleased with his friend's reaction. - He can regrow a whole head, though it will take... a couple of hours if he doesn't eat. No, if you chop him up into a bunch of little pieces, he'll die, of course, but....

- He just won't let it happen. - Deus finished grimly. - Now I see why you suggested changing the rules.

- Yeah, I realised I should make him a joker rather than an ace. Hmm, though that's not the most appropriate analogy.....

- I see your point, my friend. - chuckled the sharply cheerful Deus. - Yeah, this is gonna be a lot more fun than I thought.

***

I grudgingly shoved away the disfigured corpse of the sniper I'd been thinking of much more lightly before. As a result, the bullet had pierced the cerebral cortex, but hadn't travelled any further. Oh, the glory of regeneration!

Suddenly, I found myself in the middle of the very same "divine" hall, with the extremely cheerful Deus and the black god.

- You have a headache? - The brunet grinned cheerfully.

- I've had worse. - I almost growled.

- I know. - The guy chuckled, but the next moment he got serious. - We wanted to tell you about the "changes" that will be made to the game, if you remember that. - he's at it again!!! ARGH!!!

- From now on, you will not be the First. - Deus continued. - We've decided that you're too strong for a figure, but you're also too weak for a player. So from now on, you'll be Thirteen.

- What?" I asked, frowning. - Explain.

- Remember the condition we gave you where you had to become a god to return to your world? - I nodded at the brunet's question. - Well, that condition doesn't apply now.

- You see, now, you will be some sort of 'shadow' figure. In order to return to your world, you'll just have to elevate one of the owners into a god, helping them win. Who, it's up to you, but you won't be participating in the game as a figure. All figures at the start of the game will be informed of your combat power, but your name will not. You will also attend all meetings, can participate in conversations and generally act like a full figure, but....

- In general, there will be a war for my favour. - And you'll have fun watching it," I said thoughtfully.

- Sure. - replied the brunet with a smile.

- Pfft." I snorted, "and who will be the First?

- Ha-ha-ha-ha..." the black god laughed softly. - Amano Yukiteru.

- ...

- ...

- ...

- ...

- Explain.

- Get ready to wake up tomorrow and your "cute, twin brother" will be snoozing in the next room. - the brunette said snidely.

- You fucking idiots... - I didn't let the bright light stop me, and the next second I was on the roof with dead bodies.

Well, at least I know what to do for the rest of the day. Can't let all these guns go to waste, can we?
