Hearing Shin's sarcastic remark, Batman's face—well, what little could be seen under his cowl—remained impassive. But beneath that stoic mask, he was undoubtedly gritting his teeth.
However, now was hardly the time for retorts.
The battle between Superman and Doomsday covered an immense range, and at any moment, the shockwaves could reach them. If that happened, Shin would be fine, but Batman? He would be torn to shreds in an instant.
"Give me that Kryptonite spear. I'll see if I can find an opportunity." Shin reached for the weapon without waiting for Batman's approval.
In reality, if Shin activated all his buffs and opened the Eighth Gate, he could probably last a few exchanges against Superman and Doomsday. Of course, that would still be just a few exchanges.
The main problem wasn't raw strength. The issue was reaction speed. To Superman and Doomsday, Shin's movements were in slow motion. No matter how powerful he was, if his opponent could react hundreds of times faster, he might as well be standing still.
Under normal circumstances, Superman would hold back, but Doomsday had no such restraint. That forced Superman to increase his reaction speed to an unimaginable degree, making the battle completely inaccessible to outsiders.
Even with his heightened perception, Shin could barely track their movements. The most he saw were streaks of light clashing across the sky. Batman? He could only guess where the fight was happening based on the explosions and collapsing buildings.
After all, when two fighters moved thousands of times the speed of sound, even tracking them was impossible for a regular human.
Just as Shin was analyzing the battle, he sensed another powerful aura approaching.
"Huh? A new combatant?" Shin muttered, narrowing his eyes. Then, as realization dawned, he sighed. "Wonder Woman? Is she even capable of keeping up with this fight?"
From what he had seen in movies, Wonder Woman's strength was comparable to his own. In the comics, she might be stronger, but in this version of the DC universe, they were likely on equal footing.
But determining power levels by depiction alone was foolish. Movies and comics always simplify fights for cinematic effect.
A golden blur streaked across the battlefield. Within two seconds, it was sent crashing into the ground.
"Yep." Shin scoffed. "Guess she really can't keep up."
Without hesitation, he activated his Intangibility ability and flickered into the crater where Wonder Woman had landed.
Lying in the rubble, the Amazonian warrior coughed up blood as she struggled to rise.
"Need a hand?" Shin asked, not waiting for a reply before channeling Yang Release Chakra into her body.
Shin refrained from using his Munch-Munch Fruit's healing ability—it looked too much like something a villain would do. Besides, Wonder Woman's natural resilience was impressive. With his chakra boost, she was back on her feet almost instantly.
The chakra feedback also allowed Shin to analyze her physical capabilities.
Physically speaking, she was far superior to him. Her raw strength and durability surpassed anything Shin had encountered, and she carried an unknown divine power far beyond regular chakra.
Of course, a direct fight wasn't just about strength. Despite the disparity, Shin was confident in his abilities. With Devil Fruits, ninjutsu, and creative combat tactics, he was still a dangerous opponent.
"Phew... Thanks." Wonder Woman exhaled, wiping the blood from her mouth. She didn't question Shin's origins, too focused on the battle above.
Moments ago, she had charged into the fight, fueled by warrior instinct. That had been a mistake. She barely lasted a few exchanges before getting knocked out of the sky.
Had Doomsday actually targeted her instead of just swatting her aside, she wouldn't have survived.
"Can you track their movements?" Shin asked.
"Barely," Wonder Woman admitted. "But keeping up with them? That's another story."
"Good enough!" Shin handed her the Kryptonite spear. "Here, use this. It should weaken both of them, slow them down, and pierce their defenses. Be careful—this affects Superman, too."
If anything, Superman would be more vulnerable than Doomsday. The monster had adaptive evolution, meaning he might eventually overcome his Kryptonite weakness.
Shin, on the other hand, had no business using the spear himself. His reaction speed simply wasn't fast enough. If he tried, he'd probably stab Superman by accident.
Kryptonite weakened Kryptonians over time, even without direct contact, but the effect wasn't instant.
"This is a weapon against that monster?" Wonder Woman studied the spear, then smiled. "I can work with this."
Before Shin could respond, his expression changed. He looked toward the sky, eyes widening in alarm.
"GODDAMN IT! THAT'S A LOT OF NUKES!"
In the movie, the government had launched a single nuclear warhead. But this? This was an entire barrage.
Shin quickly figured out the reasoning. Superman could outfly a single nuke. Even if they launched one at him, he'd dodge it with ease.
So, the government came up with a new strategy: just launch a ridiculous number at once. If they blanketed the battlefield, Superman and Doomsday wouldn't be able to avoid them all.
Of course, Shin knew this wouldn't work.
Doomsday absorbed energy to grow stronger. The nukes would only buff him. Meanwhile, Superman—stripped of the sun's energy—would be reduced to a lifeless husk.
And once the dust settled? The world would have a fully evolved, nuclear-powered Doomsday.
Shin exhaled sharply. "Goddamn humans… they never learn."
