I mean come on, make him get the power of a strong demon from another world like Guy Crimson, Mechikabura, Anos Voldigoat or someone else using Wish before he enters DXD. then make it seem like the condition for getting that power is to become a devil, the MC will be reincarnated as a human and needs to turn into a devil to awaken his power. after awakening and becoming a slave he will release the evil piece and become a free devil with its power. how hard is it to make a story where the MC has power and freedom damn it.
