Ch 126 : Marry few more times

The entire street surrounding the Hyuga clan grounds was bustling with activity.

Members of the Hyuga family stood at the entrance, smiling warmly as they greeted guests.

Rin stood at a distance on the side of the street, holding her invitation, looking hesitant and unsure.

She had spent a sleepless night debating whether or not to come.

Although she had finally made it here today, now that she was standing at the entrance, regret began to creep in.

"Rin!"

A familiar voice suddenly called out from afar—it was Yuhi Kurenai and Mitarashi Anko approaching together.

"What are you doing standing here? Why aren't you going in?" Kurenai asked.

"Ah, it's just... going in alone feels a little awkward, so I thought I'd wait and see if I could find someone I know," Rin said with a smile.

Seeing the two of them, she suddenly felt a wave of relief.

She needed an excuse to make herself go in.

"Alright, then let's go together," Anko nodded.

The three of them entered the Hyuga clan grounds together.

It was their first time attending someone else's wedding as guests, and the host's status was so prestigious that they couldn't help but feel a little awestruck.

"Minato-sensei!" Rin spotted her teacher, standing with Kushina and chatting with some guests nearby.

She only greeted him from afar and didn't approach.

The three girls could all feel that many of the guests here today were quite distinguished figures.

Rin also noticed Obito, who was currently standing with Uchiha Fugaku.

Obito, having already spotted Rin earlier, gave her a big grin when he saw her looking over.

Rin's eyes continued to scan the crowd.

Among their peers, Asuma, Genma, and Ebisu were also present, and the three girls eagerly joined them, relieved to have someone to chat with.

The wedding hadn't officially started yet, but the massive courtyard was already nearly full of people.

Tables and chairs were set up around the area, along with food stations offering exquisite dishes and desserts.

Over at one of the stations, Might Guy and his father, Might Duy, were enjoying the food with gusto.

Kakashi arrived rather late, and Rin couldn't help but stifle a laugh when she saw him.

He was dressed overly formally, and with his usual face mask, the whole look appeared rather mismatched and awkward.

"Kakashi, are you the one getting married today?" Asuma teased from the side.

"Shut up!" Kakashi retorted, uncharacteristically embarrassed.

He had specifically chosen a more mature and formal outfit, thinking it was appropriate since he was attending as a guest and someone of the same generation as Makoto.

Kakashi glanced at the group and suddenly asked, "How much did you all bring for the wedding gift?"

Asuma replied, "3,000 ryo."

The others all nodded. "Same here."

Kakashi pondered for a moment. It seemed he had given too much… Could he ask for it back?

Asuma asked, "How much did you bring?"

Kakashi kept a straight face and said, "The same, 3,000."

From a distance, Obito noticed their conversation and couldn't resist saying a few words to Fugaku before quickly running over.

As he approached, Obito curiously asked, "What are you guys talking about?"

Anko replied, "Wedding gifts. How much did you bring, Obito?"

Obito said, "I brought 5,000."

Asuma laughed and teased, "Idiot! Why'd you give so much? We all gave 3,000."

Obito looked shocked. "I didn't know! Can we ask for it back? That came from my living expenses!"

Kakashi glanced at Obito, his mood lifting considerably.

"Have you seen Hakumen? Is he helping out?"

"Yeah, after all, it's kind of his family's business."

"Have you seen the bride yet?"

"Not yet."

Suddenly, Asuma spoke mysteriously, "Did you guys know? The bride is actually pregnant."

Everyone was stunned by this revelation.

Rin blurted out, "What did you say?"

Anko, equally surprised, asked, "How do you know?"

Anko knew about Ayari's pregnancy, but she was aware that such things weren't to be spread around, so she hadn't told anyone.

Asuma explained, "Because the bride has been going to the hospital for check-ups. Someone from my family works at the hospital."

The group exchanged bewildered glances, all finding this news quite unbelievable.

Even Kakashi, Makoto's personal Anbu, hadn't known.

Obito scratched his head and said, "So Makoto is about to become a dad, huh?"

Kurenai chuckled lightly, "I wouldn't have guessed. I thought he was a pretty serious guy."

Asuma replied, "A lot of people who seem serious on the outside can be quite the opposite behind closed doors."

"Rin, Rin?"

"Huh?" Rin snapped back to reality, realizing everyone was looking at her.

"What's wrong? You spaced out for a second there," Anko asked curiously.

"Oh... I... I just think this is all so unbelievable," Rin said, forcing a smile.

As Rin looked up, she caught Kakashi staring at her, and she felt a sudden wave of nervousness.

"Why are you all just standing here? Why don't you go eat something?"

Thankfully, at that moment, Guy arrived, each hand holding a snack, his mouth still chewing away.

"The food here is amazing, and it's all free and constantly supplied. You can eat as much as you want. If only Makoto could marry a few more times!" Guy said excitedly.

Everyone fell silent upon hearing this.

Kakashi rolled his eyes and muttered, "What an idiot."

Obito, however, was somewhat tempted by Guy's words and considered joining him to try the food.

As they chatted, a sudden stir appeared in the crowd.

The groom and bride had arrived.

Everyone gathered, and Asuma and the others couldn't help but push forward to get a better look.

The crowd surrounded the newlyweds, and naturally, the bride stood out the most.

Dressed in a pure white wedding kimono, she seemed like a celestial goddess descending to the earth.

"She's so beautiful," Kurenai couldn't help but say.

"If I were a man, I'd probably be drawn to her too. No wonder Makoto can't behave."

Rin remained silent, but Kurenai's words were true.

Hyuga Ayari was indeed breathtakingly beautiful, and in this setting, she made many women feel self-conscious.

Rin's gaze shifted to Makoto, standing beside Ayari.

Dressed in a black wedding kimono, Makoto also wore makeup, designed to make him appear more mature, so he wouldn't seem out of place standing next to Ayari.

With a beaming smile, Makoto greeted the people around him, looking completely at ease.

He was the head of the Hyuga clan, the Hokage's right-hand man, a hero of Konoha, and a victor of wars… every title he held was so dazzling.

Only such a beautiful woman could be worthy of him.

Rin thought to herself, a sense of melancholy filling her heart.
