C5 Oscar meets Adrian

Ronald was taken back by the look on Deborah's face and said

"Have you guys met before ?, seems like you both know each other "

Deborah hit back with a reply while stammering "Not at all sir, he just looked like someone whom I knew."

Ronald quickly sighed while Adrian held a slight smile at the corner of his mouth. He was just thinking of the awkward encounter he had with her.

Adrian concluded that Deborah or whoever the lady was, has a rude personality and he hoped never to meet her again until now.

He quickly introduced himself "I'm Adrian, an engineer by profession and that's my father which you know as your Dean ."

"My father says you are one of the best in your field and he hasn't stopped singing your praises at home "

Ronald was just smiling and tried to downplay what Adrian by saying "Son you exaggerate a lot " he said.

Deborah knowing who the Dean was, knew that Adrian was right and that his father was one to always hype his best student who in this case was her.

Ronald then asked Deborah how her father was doing and she responded saying that his health was beginning to improve but the Doctor advised against him doing things by himself.

"I shall pay him a visit one of these days, He's such a stubborn man "He said this with a smile.

RING RING

Ronald decided to pick up and then he exchanged a few words with his caller and then decided to head over there.

"I have to attend to something , think of it as a brief meeting, both of you should wait behind for me, I don't be long. " He then quickly left both of them in his office.

Between Deborah and Adrian, there was an awkward silence for some seconds before Deborah decided to break the ice.

"I'm sorry for what happened in the parking lot earlier today, I wasn't at my best today and I transferred my aggression towards you, let's start afresh " she said.

There was a brief pause and Adrian responded

"I see why my father admires you a lot , you are smart and very knowledgeable but I'm not my father your Dean, I will have to take a lot of convincing before I can overlook or how did you say it , start afresh "

Adrian said this with a smirk

Deborah thought to herself "Is he flirting with me?, nah he can't do that , he's the Dean's son "

She went from being apologetic to getting impatient

" What do you have in mind Mr Adrian?" She asked, curious to hear his answer not because she planned to fulfil it.

" How about you pretend to be my partner for an event my company is hosting?, nothing special just the usual exchange of pleasantries between boring people, after this we are square "

Adrian watched her expression closely trying to guess the outcome of her answer.

Before Deborah could reply

The door was opened by Oscar with the Dean behind him. He was excited to see Deborah inside the office but his excitement was cut short as he a man standing beside her.

"Deborah what's the young man doing here?, wasn't he informed that this is an out of bounds place for people not directly associated with the Dean"

Adrian opened his mouth but before he said anything, Oscar cut him short "I didn't ask for your opinion or excuse young man, I was speaking to the lady standing close to you

Oscar was fuming not because Adrian was there but how could such a clown stand besides his crush and bestie Deborah.

He could feel a sting of jealousy in his heart but he couldn't shake it off.

" Enough of the investigation Oscar, you didn't even let either the young man or Deborah explain to you, the young man standing with Deborah is my son Adrian who never comes to visit me " the Dean responded.

Oscar became bewildered and was a bit dumbfounded as he didn't expect this turn of events, he then offered a not so sincere apology to Adrian.

" I'm sorry sir, I had no idea who you are. My apologies"

Adrian dismissed his apology with a wave of his hands saying "Next time get your facts straight, I don't know how your students behave Dad"

Deborah felt like a shot was taken at her and all she could say to herself was "Nice one"

Adrian then decided to take his leave as he was already late for his next appointment but soon as he was headed towards the door.

But he didn't get a reply from Deborah.

He wanted to get to go back and know her answer but decided to forget about it, he thought to himself that Oscar was her boyfriend

Seeing how over protective and defensive he got around Deborah.

As soon as Adrian left, Oscar then looked at Deborah and asked

"What's his deal with you anyways? "

Deborah responded "Nothing of importance, he thinks because he's the Dean's son that he is all high and mighty "

Oscar on hearing this, felt a great joy inside his body, at least his crush wasn't in anway attracted to this proud man although he was handsome he thought.

He then decided to update Deborah on all the lectures she has missed when she was tending to her grandpa Johnson.

Meanwhile at the Johnson's Mansion

A lot of preparations was made for the festivities that Johnson was about to host, variety of meals were prepared and drinks of all kinds were being ordered.

The chefs and cooks were all busy and rarely had time to themselves.

Despite the festivities going on, Johnson didn't seem happy as his favourite ring was missing and it still wasn't found.

He was a bit gloomy but didn't want to show it at all.

Barbara on seeing Johnson trying his best to hide his emotion gave of a villainous smile.

She was the cause of his despair and she knew.
