## Hazel's POV
"I can wait a little longer."
Sebastian's words hung between us, heavy with meaning. I swallowed hard, unsure how to respond to his confession. My mind raced with thoughts I couldn't organize.
"You seem very confident about getting what you want eventually," I finally said, trying to regain my composure.
A small smile played at the corner of his lips. "Not confident. Hopeful."
The distinction was subtle but meaningful. I wrapped my fingers around my water glass, needing something to ground me.
"Well," I said, clearing my throat. "That was quite a game of twenty questions."
Sebastian nodded, then his expression shifted. "Though I believe it's my turn now."
I blinked. "Your turn?"
"You asked your questions. Now I get to ask mine." His voice remained gentle but left no room for argument. "That's how the game works, isn't it?"
