## Hazel's POV
"Future sister-in-law?" I choked on my water as Cora's words echoed in my ears long after Sebastian had ended the call.
Sebastian cleared his throat, looking almost as uncomfortable as I felt. "Cora has an active imagination."
The candles flickered between us, casting dancing shadows across the white tablecloth. The restaurant's emptiness suddenly felt overwhelming—just us, the soft music, and the weight of Cora's implication hanging in the air.
"She certainly does," I agreed, trying to keep my tone light. "Though she seems convinced there's something serious between us."
Sebastian's eyes met mine. "And what do you think?"
I searched for a diversion, unwilling to answer that particular question. "I think we need to change the subject."
"Fair enough." Sebastian picked up his wine glass but didn't drink, just watched me over the rim.
