An Unexpected Invitation

## Hazel's POV

Sebastian pulled me onto his lap as soon as we entered the private dining room, his lips finding mine with an urgency that made my head spin. My hands instinctively went to his shoulders for balance.

When he finally broke the kiss, I was breathless. I searched his face, uncertain of his intentions in this secluded space.

"Are you—" I started.

Sebastian chuckled, his eyes darkening. "Am I planning to take you right here?" He traced my jawline with his thumb. "As much as I want to, no. I'm not that impulsive."

Relief and disappointment warred inside me. "Good to know you have some restraint," I teased, trying to steady my racing pulse.

"Don't test me." His voice dropped an octave. "My restraint has limits."

I bit my lip, tempted to see just how far those limits extended. Instead, I leaned forward and pressed my lips against his again. He deserved some affection after I'd upset him earlier.
