The story development of the story was good, with the introduction of characters and setting motives since the beginning it gave a clear understanding on how the story will progress. The only two notable things that I can criticize is the physical design of the MC and other characters that are not given much thought of in this chapter, which you should, so that the reader can picture a clear image of the characters since the beginning. The other thing is the background of the world that the story is taking place in, I think that improving certain descriptions of the world, like the Empire or even giving more information about the world itself can help the reader a lot in situating themselves in the story. A writing recommendation that I can give you is to use "Quotation marks" when referring to sounds or things that have an impact on the story like: The radio can be heard from across the room "A meteor is approaching the Earth" or with sounds like "Bang!" "Whoosh!" "Feww!" .Overall this story is pretty well written and the story itself is developed in a really good way relative to the size of the chapter, you are improving greatly as you keep writing and will fix every mistake on the way.
