Namikaze Haruto used to be a normal, healthy teenager. His life was good. He was smart, strong, and very popular with the ladies. He knew his live was supposed to be simple. He was supposed to live normal live, get normal educations, perhaps someday give up the foolish notions of building his own harems and settled down with nice girl. It would have been nice... It could have gone on forever. Then some S&M-wearing Fallen Angel shit came and messed everything up.
A very good novel with excellent writing—normally a 4.5-star read. However, I’m only giving it 2.5 stars for one reason: the more I read, the more frustrated I get. The level of unnecessary dragging is unbelievable—everything, absolutely everything, has to be stretched out. At first, it was fine, but as the story progressed, I started skipping chapters. The damn author insists on building suspense even over the protagonist’s chess piece. Say what you will, but I hate forced plot devices. ‘We won’t unlock your Sacred Gear’—just so the author can drag the story out for five more chapters of unnecessary tension.
